Dr. Armand Kainoa Chong was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and graduated from Iolani School. He later attended Oregon State University on a football scholarship and the University of Hawaii, School of Medicine on an academic scholarship through the Imi Hoola program, an accelerated program for health careers of Pacific Islanders.Dr. Chong finished his final prerequisites for dental school at Chaminade University of Honolulu in 1984. He attended dental school at the University of Missouri Kansas until 1988 and was later accepted in a General Practice Residency Program at St. Francis Medical Center where he worked until 1989. In 1990, he opened a private practice in Honolulu where he has been serving patients ever since.
Additionally, Dr. Chong serves as a dental consultant at Avalon Care Center, Convalescent Care Center of Hawaii, Hale Pulama Mau (Kuakini), Island Nursing Home, Kahala Nui, Oahu Care Facility and One Kalakaua.
Dr. Chongs operations/business manager, dental hygienist and dental assistant have over 30 years of experience in dentistry. They take great pride in providing excellent patient care and customer service. Theyre always willing to make extra efforts and accommodations to ensure patients receive the best dental services.
Dr. Chong and his staff work diligently and collaboratively to provide positive, quality service and experiences for patients. They encourage and welcome any questions or concerns you may have about your dental health.

Dr. Armand Chong was very patient with me and very gentle. I do not like visiting the dentist however he and his staff made the whole experience much much easier. If you need a good dentist I would suggest giving them a call.

In May 2010 They treated my god-awful tooth-ache and sent me for the partial root canal so I could enjoy the rest of my vacation in Waikiki. The bill seemed reasonable and a very professional attitude and nice office folks. No TMJ, either. :-) YMMV, but I called them at 9:30am and they were able to get me in that same morning.
