Dr. Ed Menton was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and raised in Dallas. He is a Board-certified Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon who received his undergraduate education at the University of Texas at Arlington, and his Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1966. He completed his Internship at the San Francisco General Hospital and his first year of residency at the Robert B. Green Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. His last three years of training was completed at Parkland Hospital in conjunction with the University of Texas Health Science Center. He started his private practice of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Arlington, Texas in 1971. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and belongs to a number of organizations: American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Texas Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Southwest Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a member of the Fort Worth District Dental Society and the Arlington Dental Study Club.
He has devoted his professional career to all aspects of his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery practice with special interests in the treatment of dental implants, removal of wisdom teeth, oral pathology, bone grafts, removal of multiple teeth and preparing the mouth for dentures. To keep abreast of the latest developments in the specialty of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, he has always exceeded the continuing education requirements of the state of Texas.
His hobbies include watching the Dallas Cowboys, farm and ranch work along with church activities. He has been married for 46 years to his wife Norma. They have three children: Brooke, Stacie and Jeff, and they have been blessed with three grandsons and one granddaughter.
Ruth has been a part of my team for over twenty-five years. She is an invaluable employee who fully understands the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery. She is very dependable and efficient and works well with patients, answering all questions as they pertain to scheduling, insurance, medications, length of procedures, etc. She has experience in all facets of both the hospital surgical procedures, as well as the office based procedures. Ruth is married, has two children and four grandchildren.

Dr. Menton extracted 3 "wisdom" tooth today. Doctor Menton and his entire staff were so professional as soon as I step into the office. The whole procedure took less time than I thought it would, which is fantastic! Before I left he told me he was going to call me later in the evening to check on me, and he surely did! If you need any oral surgery I would strongly recommend Dr. Menton and his staff. Again, thank you very much sir :)

One of the most important roles in any office is that first person you speak to. Their general demeanor and phone manners can make or break your decision on a provider. In this case, Ruth is exceptional at her job. I would choose this office based on her alone. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. She's a keeper!

The best dental experience I've had by far. The facility was clean, comfortable, and quiet and the staff was very professional and polite. Dr. Menton was very informative and patient, he's totally changed my opinion of dentist altogether. Ms. Ruth at the front desk explained everything before I got there and the expected cost before the procedure so I was fully prepared. I had a tooth extracted and outside of the initial numbing shots there was no pain at all during the procedure, I was very comfortable. Will go here for all my future oral surgery needs and would recommend this office and Dr. Menton to everyone who is in need of this type of service...especially those who suffer with anxiety as I do myself, I can tell you though I was initially nervous, they kept me very comfortable throughout my visit.

Wish I could give ten stars. Dr. Menton is a caring and excellent Oral Surgeon. He has done my extractions and a dental implant, and another implant will be scheduled in a few months. His staff is great and I couldn't feel anymore at ease with another surgeon. Compassionate and takes his time with his patients. He personally calls the night of your surgery to check on you.

I just had a tooth extracted by Dr. Menton and it was a super good experience. This is the second one that he had preformed this procedure for me. I want to say that I was more than pleased with him and would recommend him to anyone needing his service.

Dr. Menton is a superb Doctor. I had a biopsy on some gum tissue. He personally called post-surgery to ask if I was ok and answer any questions. He then again called me with results. Great guy, great staff and a super-clean, organized office.

Words can't describe how excellent this man is with extracting teeth. He's very cool, he tends to make conversations with you and makes you feel comfortable during the surgery. Plus, he would sometimes cut you a break by removing 2 teeth for the cost of 1. Well, from my experience, he did. Would I recommend him to others? Absolutely!

I just want to Thank God for Dr. Pham who took great care to take out two impacted wisdom teeth. Although it was a risk for it to be so close to my nerve, it was left undamaged and I didn't lose permanent feeling in my lip. :). Every person in that place greets you with a smile, and you'd probably never guess if they were having a bad day before starting work. They definitely do business with care and that's a pretty cool thing!
