Dr. R. Pierce Osborne II obtained his dental degree from the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Campus in 1988. He stayed at the University of Tennessee for training in periodontal and implant therapy. He returned to Fayetteville in 2001 and began practicing with Dr. Gary Renegar; that practice became Arkansas Periodontal and Implant Associates.

Dr. Osborne is a past president of the Arkansas State Dental Association, as well as the Northwest District Dental Association. He enjoys attending continuing education courses and has served as president of the local dental study club, The American Academy of Interdisciplinary Therapy, northwest Arkansas chapter. It is important to him to be well educated in his profession and provide the highest level of care. He will be happy to discuss any recent developments in periodontal or implant therapy with you.

Dr. Osborne graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Arts. He majored in classical studies as he was planning to practice law. However, he redirected late in college and began taking science courses.

Dr. Osborne was given the 2015 Gentleman of Distinction Award by Hope Cancer Resources. This award is given annually at the Bill Fleeman Hope Cancer Resources Gala to a single individual in recognition of their work for cancer treatment and support in our area. Hope Cancer Resources provides compassionate, professional cancer support and education in the Northwest Arkansas region.

He believes strongly that he should give back to a community that has given him so much. He has served on the boards of Habitat for Humanity of Washington Co., Washington County Historical Society, the New School, Northwest Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute, Hope Cancer Resources, and as President of Haas Hall Academy. He attends and ushers at Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville.

Dr. Michael Curry received his certificate of Advanced Surgical Periodontics at the West Los Angeles Veterans Hospital UCLA. He is very active in organized dentistry and currently serves as the Arkansas State Liaison for the American Academy of Periodontology. He is also the past president of multiple local and regional dental organizations. Dr. Curry is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He has lectured to numerous prestigious organizations on Surgically Facilitated Orthodontic Therapy (SFOT), periodontal procedures and interdisciplinary patient care. Dr. Curry maintains a full-time practice in Fayetteville, Fort Smith, and Rogers, Arkansas.

Dr. Shelton received his dental degree from the University Of Tennessee College Of Dentistry in 2007. While there, Dr. Shelton was awarded the Deans certificate of Achievement and Dr. Kenneth L. Frame and Sara Jo Frame-Mazur Scholarship award. After graduating dental school with honors, Dr. Shelton continued his training with a residency at the University of Tennessee and V.A. Hospital in Memphis, where he completed a Masters in Dental Science and received his certificate in Periodontics. While in Memphis, Dr. Shelton did research on taste innervation which he presented at The Association for Chemoreception Sciences annual meeting in 2010 in Tampa, Florida.

Dr. Shelton is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and is the only practicing board-certified periodontist in the Northwest Arkansas area. Dr. Shelton has also received the prestigious designation of Fellow with The International College of Oral Implantologists for his work in Implant Dentistry. Dr. Shelton stays up to date on the latest techniques and is the only periodontist in Arkansas to train with Dr. John Chao learning the pinhole surgical technique. Dr. Shelton always strives to provide his patients with the most conservative and yet beneficial treatment.

Dr. Sheltons periodontal training included the surgical and non-surgical treatment of periodontal disease, soft tissue augmentation with emphasis on esthetics, bone regeneration, cat-scan guided dental implant therapy and intravenous sedation. Dr. Shelton has had advanced training in Laser Periodontal Therapy and Treatment. He has received his Laser Periodontal Therapy License. This license enables him to use the only FDA approved laser for the treatment of periodontal disease. While there are many lasers in the dental community, this particular laser is the only FDA approved laser for periodontal treatment and Dr. Shelton is one of the few periodontist licensed to use the laser. Dr. Shelton has advanced his training by attending the Center for Advanced Dental Education in Dallas, learning advanced periodontal plastic surgery and implant procedures from one on the pioneers in periodontal surgery, Dr. Pat Allen.

Dr. Shelton believes it is important to have an interdisciplinary team approach to patient treatment and will work closely with your restorative dentist to provide the highest quality and predictable solution to your periodontal and implant needs. Dr. Shelton is a member of the Arkansas State Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, Southern Academy of Periodontology, Northwest Arkansas Dental Society, American Society of Dental Anesthesiology and the Academy of Interdisciplinary Dentofacial Therapy.

Dr. Shelton is a native of Batesville, Arkansas. He graduated from Batesville High School and went on to attend the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville for undergraduate studies where he earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Biology. Dr. Shelton lives in Rogers, Arkansas with his wife Ella Bebow Shelton, also from Batesville.

Unfortunately I have to give them a star to leave a review. I'm not sure if it was a lack of intelligence or just a case of rudeness! I just left from my very first appointment with them. I gave the lady my insurance card and she hands it back telling me that's not it. I look at the card and it clearly says med den on it. I go back up to the counter and I hand her the card pointing to the den on the card. She then said well what does the UMR stand for? I looked at her and said I don't know. At this point I'm worried about what kind of service I'll actually get so I just ask if I can cancel my appointment. She said sure. I really felt like my presence there interrupted her day. I have no plans on going back.

I have always been embarrassed of my smile and avoided the dentist. I was very scared when my dentist said I needed to see a specialist. I was worried going into the consult not knowing what to expect, but Dr. Shelton was very kind and understanding. Dr. Shelton explained things to me so I felt comfortable with what needed to be done. I ended up needing surgery , while surgery is not fun I had no problems and am glad I did it. I feel better about my smile and I appreciate how attentive Dr. Shelton and his staff was.

I love Dr. Osbourne and find him charming, funny and a thorough, and they have a great staff overall, but the wait time to get in is absolutely ridiculous, and I was not notified until I got to the office today that I was required to pay a fee of $790 until I got there. Then, after much discussion and stress, my mother told me that she would pay for it as long as she got reimbursed later. I was out in the car because I thought there was no way they would still see me today. I had to make a phone call and make sure that my mother could be reimbursed, and when I was unloaded from my wheelchair van which takes a long time because I am disabled and went into the building, they told me it had taken too long and rescheduled me for October after under TEN minutes for me to check and make sure everything would work out. So I like the doctor and think he does a good job, but the waiting time is unacceptable , they once scheduled me with the wrong doctor and it took me over three months for them to realize this and correct it. Good doctor but subpar office staff and scheduling.
