Dr. Kapur received his B.D.S. from Punjab University in Amritsar, India in 1969. After working in Zambia, Africa with the Flying Doctors of the United Nations, Dr. Kapur emigrated to the United States in 1973. He completed his pediatric residency at Boston University in 1975. He turned to teaching and taught at the dental programs at the University of Southern California and Baylor in Texas. After helping in the training of dozens of residents throughout the years, Dr. Kapur was interested in applying his knowledge to direct patient care. He attained a second dental degree from the University of Southern California in 1987. Armed with his advanced dental training and diverse experiences, Dr. Kapur opened up his first office in Chandler in 1989. He moved his office to a brand new complex across from Chandler Regional Hospital in 2002 and opened his second office in West Phoenix in 2006. Dr. Kapurs interests include reading, travel, cooking, and spending time with his family. He is also an avid fan of all things canine related!
Dr. Dave joined AZPD in summer of 2012. Not a stranger to moving he has lived in IL, OR, MN, MA, NC and PA prior to making AZ his home. Dr. Dave attained his dental education at Boston University School of Dental Medicine. He joined the Navy following dental school and served as a Naval officer and general dentist on Marine Corp Base Camp Lejeune NC. His desire to specialize in Pediatric dentistry brought him to Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh where he realized his true passion for the specialty. Away from adventures of workspace, he enjoys painting, spending time with family, exercising and traveling.
Dr. Henry Martinez was born and raised here in Arizona. He grew up in the East Valley and attended Dobson High School. Dr. Martinez obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at Arizona State University. He then went on to complete a Masters degree in Biomedical Sciences at the Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in Newark, N.J. (formerly the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey). He obtained his D.M.D. (Doctor of Dental Medicine) at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa.
Following dental school, Dr. Martinez followed his passion for providing dental care to children and people with special needs by completing his pediatric dental residency training at the Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center in New York City. There he received extensive training in all aspects of pediatric dentistry including sedation and hospital dentistry. He has received extensive training in treating people with special needs during dental school at the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Healths Special Care Unit and as a pediatric dental resident at the Rose F. Kennedy Center at Jacobi Medical Center in New York. During his spare time Dr. Martinez enjoys spending time with his wife Irina, who is also a dentist, and family. He enjoys working out, watching movies, and golf.
Dr. David Ember is a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Dentistry and a former resident at Nationwide Childrens Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He has practiced in multiple locations including almost twelve years working for Aramco in Saudi Arabia. He currently fulfills his global wanderlust through his charitable endeavors overseas as a clinician and a director on the board of Childrens Dental Care International. This organization has set up dental clinics in Sri Lanka, Ecuador, and Brazil.

Been bringing my kids here for years. Staff is great! Dr. Martinez is outstanding and the dental assistants are fabulous. My kids love coming in for their visits and look forward to them

BEWARE DONT COME HERE. THEY DONT BENEFIT YOUR CHILD THEY BENEFIT THEIR POCKETS. BROKE KIDS TOOTH AND NOW THEY WONT FIX IT. GO ELSEWHERE BEWARE.

Update 10/22/21: Taking off a star. I've been going here for almost a solid 5 years. I've been taking my 2 boys every 6 months and often bring my 2 step kids on the dot. Sometimes more if more had to be done other than the regular clean. Both my boys have been great with the staff and the staff know them well. I love the doc and everyone of his assistance. My 4 year old loves going because they are so nice to him and hold a conversation with my little guy the whole time. With that said, I'm upset because when I called to schedule an appointment after missing my last one, the lady told me if i no call no show one more time they will not let us back! They didn't call me or text me like they have been doing for 5 years. They always tell me they will call and text but I guess not every time. I have to stand back and look at it in their perspective but that really hurts when a loyal client of 5 years with a great track record and easy little patients are told no ifs ands or butts. If i miss one more I'm out. I can't promise i won't do another no call no show because life happens when we have kids and this place is for kids. I hate taking a star away because i like the the doctor but honestly I'd rather pay a fine but whatever. The lady who took my call is the same lady there who is always a headache to deal with. I can tell she had an attitude just talking to me. Atleast sound like you don't want to lose me as a customer. Sheesh. Shouldn't have rude people taking your phone calls. Friendly staff, amazing and patient dentists, they talk with your kids and make them feel important. Toys and television for kids to play with while they wait. Kids get a prize when they are done and free goody bag after each cleaning. My son is autistic but they treated him very well. My toddler loves going to the dentist, infact all my 4 kids look forward to it. My daughter even calls the dentist a "very nice person". He talked to her even though she is very shy. I do however have one suggestion, cleaner rooms and update style. It reminds me of Denny's Wait area. It's a bit tight, and run down. But the bathrooms are very clean, thet where it counts. Can be cleaner and up to date, hence the 4/5 stars. I will change it to 5/5 once the wait area is nicer.

We have been going to AZ Pediatric Dentistry for 13 years now. We love the staff there! They truly love the kids and speak to them directly and not just to the parents. I definitely recommend them for all ages of kids. We are always able to get appointments after school.

I am so thankful that I found this team of wonder people at Arizona Pediatric Dentistry! My son had to have extensive oral surgery and they made such a trying experience go smoothly and professionally. I am so thankful for Sylvia for helping us through every step of this process! The dentist made my son feel comfortable and he helped him get a healthy smile back!!! Thank you so much!!!

I have been taking my children to this office for years. I absolutely love it! The front staff are amazing, to the ladies in the back, as well as the dentists. I have zero complaints, zero issues and my children actually look forward to going. This office is the best place and I won't go anywhere else!!!

Dr. Martinez and assistant Jimmy are amazing duo when taking care of my children dental needs. Both are so patient and understand with kids; it is amazing that they can get them to get through treatment! My daughter has sensory issues even brushing her teeth is a big deal to her but they talk her through it and gain her trust to let them work on her. The back office staff is amazing! I definitely recommend them in helping your child's dental health.

Dr.Nez was the sweetest doctor, when she numbed my mouth I didn't even feel the injection. She did an enamoplasty on my front teeth and they came out beautiful, can't wait to show them off. Assistant Tommy was super gentle and made me feel at ease throughout the entire procedure. Been going here for over 10 years.

My son has been going here for a few years now. My son is also autistic, and they just know what they are doing. Love Dr. Martinez. The office staff is friendly. They take care of your child's teeth and are genuinely caring, wanting to know how your kids are. My son has no fears at all about going to the dentist.

Professional, caring, down to earth and extremely helpful individuals. Sylvia, one of their team members, understood that the emergency issue my son was having and squeezed him in beyond their normal work time to help my 3 year old son.. staying beyond the normal work day to help him, but also squeezing in extra kids in the same boat as my son, happening so much lately.. but thanks to Sylvia, she not only helped with getting him in, but she was sweet to my son and very kind to my fiance and I. With regards to her, and to the Phoenix location.. thank you and God bless you all for helping us and our son feel comfortable, both literally and figuratively about the situation.

I dislike this place. The front desk have no customers service skills. I made an appointment for my four children and they had the audacity to change my children appointment without letting me know like the hell were you thinking. I had to request time off and got approved and had to missed work a second time. They tried to put the blame on me saying that I made the appointment on a Monday. I don't ever make my appointments on Monday's. I have never schedule an appointment on Monday especially if I don't have my step son with me because I'm the one who takes him to all his appointment not his bio mother. I'm going to be transferring care for my children to a different pediatric dentistry. I'm very disappointed with the front desk!!!

Im a new mom, this was Ash first visit to the dentist. I told Alex the Dentist assistant that Ash would not a let brush his teeth. Alex nit only showed me a easy way to brush Ash teeth, but he also didn't cry at all. I appreciate Alex. Dr. Nez was as equally helpful and caring. She gave me information and explain everything I may have not understood. Im glad I chose this site for my Ash dental care.
