Dr. Matthew Korn is a periodontist, a dentist who specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases and conditions that affect the foundation of the teeth. This area of specialty includes the complex and sophisticated art and science of reconstructive treatment, using high-tech 3D imaging, regenerative therapy (allowing patients to regenerate their own tissue), and dental implants. Thankfully, the days of unsophisticated, painful bone grafting are over. Dr. Korn is passionate about ending the suffering and loss associated with periodontal disease. In 25 years of clinical practice, he has seen first-hand how periodontitis, the painless and progressive infection of the gum and bone, predictably destroys the foundation of the teeth and results in severe disabilities. Dr. Korn believes that any patient can return to health, no matter how far down the scale theyve slipped, and that this journey can be comfortable both physically and financially.

His career began in 1990 with the belief that he could someday become a master clinician if he dedicated himself to a lifetime of learning, as if dental school never ended. He completed a residency program with a certificate in periodontology and dental implant surgery at the University of Southern California, the first periodontal residency program to include formal training in the microsurgical placement of dental implants. He fondly recalls that early in his career, dental implant placement into the jawbone had outpaced the technology to add a tooth to them. His biggest challenge was to find a dentist who had been trained to place a crown on a dental implant. Its amazing to see how far weve come today!
A vast majority of patients with periodontal problems can be successfully returned to health with very simple, comfortable, and predictable care. This is the most likely outcome when working with the many wonderful restorative dentists in the Sacramento area who diagnose problems at their earliest stages, and refer their patients to Dr. Korn for early intervention.
In an effort to better understand the factors that would create more predictable success, Dr. Korn dedicated himself to behavioral education in addition to his ongoing technical learning. That journey began in 2002 at the LD Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida. He discovered that long-term dental health required connecting with the person attached to the teeth. His practice was transformed as he gained a reputation as the periodontist who was willing to help his patient first become aware of their problem, so that they could eventually partner with him and their dentist in making decisions about treatment.
Hello! Im Dylan Crabtree, Director of Operations at Aria Dental Implants & Perio. Ive began my career in dentistry in 2011 as an RDA. After a few years, I worked my way up a supervisory position with a large group practice. Over this time, I became passionate about dentistry because Ive seen how it changes patients lives for the better.
In 2019, I applied to dental school, and I was simultaneously offered an alternate path to learn the business of dentistry. I continued to grow in my knowledge and appreciation for the business of dentistry.
Much of my work in last four years involved recruiting and developing relationships between specialists and restorative dentists in the Central Valley, Sacramento and Bay Area. I appreciate the energy required of both restorative dentists and periodontists to communicate at a level required to create optimal results for their valued patients. I am passionate about facilitating that interdisciplinary communication, so that both doctors and their teams can perform at their highest levels.
Aligning with referring doctors allowed me to better appreciate the complex nature of interdisciplinary communication. As the Director of Operations, I am excited to get to know you and work with you. I will be visiting your office regularly to check in with you and your team to see what I can do to support you and your office. I am on call to take your questions and provide information and support about patients you send our way.
Away from the office, I love spending time with my wife and daughter. We as a family enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, spending time together, and playing golf, football. We look forward to the future family trips.

I was apprehensive about having surgery but I decided that it was the right decision. They explained the process to me and set the appointment. When I arrived, the doctor gave me a local anesthetic and the procedure was painless. I was more relaxed than I expected to be. I recommend Dr. Korn to anyone needing this procedure.

Dr. Korn and his team are exceptional! Dr. Korn is extremely personable and listens to your concerns. I had gum graft surgery and the results were astonishing and healed very fast. It's my understanding there are several ways to conduct this surgery, but Dr. Korn uses the latest technologies which allows for a quicker recovery and amazing results. A couple of days after the surgery I had a few questions and I was able to call or text him after hours to get answers quickly. My step sister had this same surgery done in Atlanta by another doctor. Her experience has been much worse. The first 2 attempts failed and her recovery time between surgeries has been much, much longer than what I experienced with Dr. Korn. His staff is amazing too! I am so grateful that I'm under the great care of Dr. Korn and his staff.

I very recently had gun graft surgery of 8 bottom teeth and am so, so, so thankful that I selected Dr. Korn. My top priorities when looking for a medical professional are 1) very highly skilled and competent with the best technology, and 2) very thorough, open, patient and caring communication. Its rare to find the highest level of either must less both, in one person. Dr. Korn is that person. And not only Dr. Korn, but his entire office staff. He has an amazingly skilled and caring team of professionals in his practice. My one regret is that I didn't do this sooner. Fear and dread caused me to put it off for a couple of years. It turned out to be nothing to dread. It wasn't painful when it was done, plus I needed nothing stronger than a Tylenol after and then not past the second day. Written instructions for aftercare are detailed, unambiguous, and very easy to follow. And they always answer the phone and get you what you need right then with that call. BTW, take it from someone who hadn't until now, one of the best things you can do for your dental health and a lifetime of good teeth is start including periodontal care early. Teeth cleaning at a periodontal office is so much more in-depth than at a dentist office, and covers a much broader range of dental knowledge and skill. If you start early with establishing with a periodontist and alternating cleaning between your regular dental office and your periodontal office you will have a lifetime of good teeth. And save a lot of money by not needing implants and other extensive dental work during your lifetime.

From scheduling, to pre-op, to the procedure, to the post-op visits, I felt like I was in great & caring hands. I was nervous about having "gum grafting surgery". However, it was NOT nearly as bad as I had imagined. Dr Korn & Rosa are fantastic!
