Dr. Matthew Korn is a periodontist, a dentist who specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases and conditions that affect the foundation of the teeth. This area of specialty includes the complex and sophisticated art and science of reconstructive treatment, using high-tech 3D imaging, regenerative therapy (allowing patients to regenerate their own tissue), and dental implants. Thankfully, the days of unsophisticated, painful bone grafting are over. Dr. Korn is passionate about ending the suffering and loss associated with periodontal disease. In 25 years of clinical practice, he has seen first-hand how periodontitis, the painless and progressive infection of the gum and bone, predictably destroys the foundation of the teeth and results in severe disabilities. Dr. Korn believes that any patient can return to health, no matter how far down the scale theyve slipped, and that this journey can be comfortable both physically and financially.

His career began in 1990 with the belief that he could someday become a master clinician if he dedicated himself to a lifetime of learning, as if dental school never ended. He completed a residency program with a certificate in periodontology and dental implant surgery at the University of Southern California, the first periodontal residency program to include formal training in the microsurgical placement of dental implants. He fondly recalls that early in his career, dental implant placement into the jawbone had outpaced the technology to add a tooth to them. His biggest challenge was to find a dentist who had been trained to place a crown on a dental implant. Its amazing to see how far weve come today!
A vast majority of patients with periodontal problems can be successfully returned to health with very simple, comfortable, and predictable care. This is the most likely outcome when working with the many wonderful restorative dentists in the Sacramento area who diagnose problems at their earliest stages, and refer their patients to Dr. Korn for early intervention.
In an effort to better understand the factors that would create more predictable success, Dr. Korn dedicated himself to behavioral education in addition to his ongoing technical learning. That journey began in 2002 at the LD Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida. He discovered that long-term dental health required connecting with the person attached to the teeth. His practice was transformed as he gained a reputation as the periodontist who was willing to help his patient first become aware of their problem, so that they could eventually partner with him and their dentist in making decisions about treatment.
Hello! Im Dylan Crabtree, Director of Operations at Aria Dental Implants & Perio. Ive began my career in dentistry in 2011 as an RDA. After a few years, I worked my way up a supervisory position with a large group practice. Over this time, I became passionate about dentistry because Ive seen how it changes patients lives for the better.
In 2019, I applied to dental school, and I was simultaneously offered an alternate path to learn the business of dentistry. I continued to grow in my knowledge and appreciation for the business of dentistry.
Much of my work in last four years involved recruiting and developing relationships between specialists and restorative dentists in the Central Valley, Sacramento and Bay Area. I appreciate the energy required of both restorative dentists and periodontists to communicate at a level required to create optimal results for their valued patients. I am passionate about facilitating that interdisciplinary communication, so that both doctors and their teams can perform at their highest levels.
Aligning with referring doctors allowed me to better appreciate the complex nature of interdisciplinary communication. As the Director of Operations, I am excited to get to know you and work with you. I will be visiting your office regularly to check in with you and your team to see what I can do to support you and your office. I am on call to take your questions and provide information and support about patients you send our way.
Away from the office, I love spending time with my wife and daughter. We as a family enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, spending time together, and playing golf, football. We look forward to the future family trips.

Dr. Korn performed a gum graft and I was shocked at how easy it was to go through the procedure and heal. His very friendly office staff walked me through the process and Dr. Korn took the time to make sure I understood what was going to happen and what needed to happen to make the procedure successful. I always felt cared for and well-served. While the procedure was intimidating at first, I had no troubles and only the slightest discomfort.

Wow! Amazing Experience! I had implant and bone graph surgery on 12/10/21. When I walked into the door I was greeted with a smile from staff.I received great customer service from start to finish from Dr. Korn and staff. I was comfortable throughout the entire procedure and felt no pain. Dr. Korn and staff are number one in my book! I highly recommend ARIA DENTAL IMPLANTS & PERIO.

I have a tooth that has caused me and my general dentists fits for ten years because it wouldn't hold a crown. After consulting with Dr Korn, I signed on for the magic and hope of life after an implant. In six short weeks, I am the beneficiary of the highest skill and knowledge and latest technology provided by Dr. Korn and his amazing staff. They made sure I understood every single step of each procedure and every option all along the way using techniques and patience to minimize any pain. And we laughed a lot too! The practice is super COVID-safe. And now I have an implant that my crown will grab onto perfectly. Thank you Team Korn!

Over the last six months I have received four separate surgeries for gum tissue grafting by Dr Matthew Korn at Aria Dental in Sacramento. Unlike the majority of offices offering this type of procedure, Dr Korn practices micro-plastic surgery, which results in a profoundly different experience for the patient. Unlike the traditional surgery and recovery I was expecting before I met Dr Korn, I was awake, fully conscious, and only under local anesthetic. The procedure itself was extremely quick, and the incisions were very small and healed rapidly without any pain. My understanding is that most patients needing gum grafts undergo general anesthetic, strong painkillers, and then have lengthy, inconvenient, and painful recoveries. In my case my mouth felt normal after a few days, and I personally never had any discomfort. As a result of my initial experience, I was more than happy to go back for three further gum grafts on different teeth. Each one was just as quick, painless, and free from complications. I had severe gum recession in several places, and Dr Korn was able to graft enough tissue that my roots are no longer exposed. Furthermore, after just a just a few weeks my gums look and feel normal; there is no scarring, no bulges, no raised areas or lumps. It is very hard to tell that I have had the surgery at all, except that my gum recession is completely gone! Dr Korn's skill alone would be enough to recommend his services 100%, but in addition to the quality of the care I received, I was overwhelmed by the kindness and professionalism of Matthew and his staff. Everyone I encountered was generous, caring, friendly and efficient. Leah, Dylan and Meghan create an environment of calm, relaxed professionalism, and they treated me with respect and kindness every time I would visit (over a dozen visits so far!). Dr Korn has assembled an incredible team, and I feel extremely lucky to have found them. There are many, many dentists and periodontal offices in the Sacramento area, but very few stand out. In my opinion, Dr Korn's office is an island of excellence in a sea of mediocrity. I can't recommend him highly enough. Thank you so much to you all!

I was so scared to go to a Peridontist and kept putting it off. Finally i made the appointment and met the friendly staff and Dr. Korn. I felt at ease very quickly as he explained what was going to occur for my surgery. I was amazed at how everything turned out wasn't scared anymore and pain free. I recommend Dr. Korn @Aria dental implants & Perio. If i could go through this surgery, anyone can. I feel so much better about my smile.

Five stars for sure! I was so nervous about my gum surgery but guess what? It was so easy! I was well taken care of and had very little pain. I was so nervous and they assured me it would be ok. And it was! Very professional and friendly. I recommend Dr. Korn and his staff to anyone who needs these services. Please don't be scared - they will take care of you! Just do it!

I had to undergo perio surgery which sounds scary but everything about my experience was great! Dr. Korn and his staff are absolutely amazing and put you right at ease. They make you feel as if you are part of their family which is so very important for someone like me as I USED to have a huge fear of dental work, however my experience with this team has allowed me to put any fears I had to rest. I am so happy with the outcome and very glad I made the choice to move forward with the surgery. It has had a major improvement on my overall health. I HIGHLY recommend going to Aria dental before anywhere else :)

Dr. Korn is great. Had a broken molar pulled and bone rebuilding in preparation for an implant. Everything went smoothly and painlessly. I difinetly would recommend Dr. Korn and his team.

Had crown lengthening surgery here with Dr. Korn and his team, it was an amazing experience. I'm a person that hates going to the dentist so when I needed to get this surgery done I was really uneasy on how my experience would be. Everyone involved in my procedure was amazing and super friendly! Thank you so much for making this a positive and amazing experience.
