  • Dentures are prosthetic devices designed to help patients without teeth chew food and improve speaking habits. Additionally, dentures improve the patient 's facial aesthetics and self-esteem. The absence of teeth can lead to a sunken, collapsed appearance to the mouth-area; by restoring the physical presence of teeth, this malformation is corrected and the patient may be seen more 'normal' according to human standards.

There are three types of dentures: full (complete), fixed and removable partial dentures. The former is only required in persons who have lost all or most of the teeth on either of the two arches of the mouth (maxillary - top and mandibular - bottom). Most patients missing only a few teeth opt for fixed partial dentures, also known as 'crown and bridge'. These must be precisely installed, especially when in between healthy teeth. Removable partial dentures are different from fixed partial dentures in that they are normally only used by people who cannot have fixed dentures or have lost too many teeth for fixed dentures, but too few for full dentures.

  • Support - The denture may have a tendency to clasp tighter and tighter to the gums as the mouth chews food. The better the support, the less likely the denture is to move vertically closer to the arch upon which it is situated.
  • Stability - Movement in the horizontal plane, sometimes described as 'slipping' front to back or side to side, can be hazardous to the patient. The quality of denture base is responsible for preventing movement with good continuous contact with the edentulous crest. However, this is heavily dependent on the patient 's innate oral anatomy.
  • Retention - This is the principle which describes the tendency of the denture to move vertically away from the gums, into the lumen of the mouth. The craftsmanship of the denture is tested here, as the better the intaglio (inside of denture) copies the oral topography, the more effective the seal is.
  • Dentures are prosthetic devices designed to help patients with missing teeth perform daily activities that would otherwise be difficult. Patients who have lost their natural teeth due to decay, periodontal disease or injury may suffer from further decay, and difficulty eating and speaking. The absence of teeth can also lead to a sunken, collapsed appearance in the mouth area. By restoring the physical presence of teeth, this malformation is corrected and the patient can maintain their normal appearance.

At Argyle Dental Center, our dentists have access to our on-site lab which allows us to control the entire denture-making process in a manner to ensure you receive a custom-denture designed to fit your personal, specific needs.

Implant-retained dentures provide an advanced alternative to traditional denture placement, as they are secured in the mouth using titanium implant posts, providing greater strength and stability for the replacement teeth. This technique allows patients with dentures to easily speak and eat without worrying about their dentures slipping out of place. Implants help dentures function just like the patients natural teeth.

Overdentures are full dentures that are firmly anchored to the jaw so they don 't slip around or stick together when you talk or eat. They can make life a lot easier for patients who are missing all of their natural teeth (what dentists call 'edentulous' patients). Overdentures are like normal full dentures except instead of relying on the gums and other tissues of the mouth for support, they are fixed in place using either the preserved tooth roots or a pair of permanent dental implants.

Implant-supported overdentures are highly effective, with a success rate of more than 95% over 10 years. Not only are they very comfortable, they also help preserve the jaw boneand best of all, you don't have to worry about eating chewy, sticky or tough foods anymore.

Partial dentures are used to replace one or more missing or diseased teeth in the upper or lower jaw to restore the appearance and function of the teeth, as well as reduce the patients risk of gum disease. This type of replacement is often used when one or more healthy natural teeth remain in the area to support the device. Patients will be able to eat, speak and smile without difficulty once dentures are in place.

Bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements that help maintain facial structure, reduce stress on the jaw and fill in the gaps caused by missing teeth. Fixed bridges are cemented to the existing teeth and do not come out. Removable bridges can be taken out.

I recommend this place to anyone needing dental work. The office is professional and nice looking, and staff are friendly. Dr Bibb is nice and seemed concerned about my issues. My only compliant was the amount of time it took to get my pre-approval which kept getting rejected by the insurance company I guess because they were submitting it wrong or whatever, but I must admit it was during computer systems changeover. I had to have three three-way conference calls with them and my insurance company eventually it got worked out but it shouldn't have took so long it was like 2 months to until they all got settled. In addition the wait times after your appointment time are long at least a half hour plus after appointment time believe I had fallen asleep a couple of times, lol. Everyone seems very professional and knows their job well, but you can tell they are overworked and possibly understaffed. All I can say is my dentures and partial fit and look good. I would give 5 stars but all things in life could use improvement.

Do not go here unless you like to make appointment for a set time and sit in waiting room for 2 hours waiting. What is the point of an appointment if I don't get seen tell 2 hours later after your appointment time. But then have the audacity to try to charge you if you are late to a appointment. Place is a scam

Had my upper denture relined. They tilted in the back and not long enough to cover. So went back to the office. Dr. Bibbs looked at them and said we will have to do a remake of my upper denture. Went in for impressions a week later. Come in the next day for the wax try in. Which was also tilted on the same side. They had the lab tech try to bring it up. He had to do this twice. And worst of all! The assistant named Shamise. When the wax try in was gagging me. And I felt like I was going to be sick. I then tried to remove it for a moment and let them know. She quickly took her hand and shoved it back in my mouth. Absolutely unacceptable! I told her That I didn't appreciate that! And what the problem was. Mean while my wax try in went back to the lab hoping he was able to work out the issues with the denture. They told me to come back in two and half hours. I came back to pick up my denture. And Shermise tried it in very forceful! When she adjusted it and had no luck another lady came to help. I do not know her name. But she tried adjusting and was getting nowhere! My mouth was all tore up from them being so rough! I showed her my old denture, like the other assistant the day before Paris, had told me to. So I could show the areas that were good. So they could compare them to get a good fit! Mind you it was 4:00 p.m. And you could tell they both had a bad day and was ready to go home. She grabbed my denture. Went out of the room. And straight out lied! To Dr. Bibbs. Saying I wanted my edges shaved down. I couldn't believe when Dr. Bibb came in a told my what she told him! And he was snapping at me. I did not tell her no such thing!!! By showing my other denture liked Paris had asked me to do. She looked at them and made her own assumption! I have never been treated so bad! Or been so disrespect. Meanwhile Dr. Bibbs leaves the room aggravated, leaves me in there with Shamis. Who clearly has a lot more training needed. As I tried my best to get her to adjust my denture where it was hurting. She was to busy being annoyed with me to get any correct adjustments done. I asked to speak with Dr. Bibbs about his staff and how I was treated. He did not come back. They told me he's to busy. You'll have to call and come back later. To have it adjusted. Are you kidding me!!! My mouth all scraped up sore as all get out! And tears running down my face. All I could do was leave with a sore mouth. And a denture that hurt's! And no one cared! I guess I have to find a more compassionate Dentist. One who cares for his patients.

I was terrified because I was losing my teeth. By the time U found Dr Bibb, what was left couldn't be saved and I was not financially prepared to get implants. I was truly afraid of dentures. DrBibb and my staff eased my fears and explained the process, which takes nearly 9 months- xtractions then temporary, then permanent. 2 years later, I still have mine. It takes multiple visits for the temporary denture to be made. It will be the one used to get by while your mouth decreases in size (about 6-9 months). It felt okay, but wasn't my permanent denture. After he made the permanent one, it fit and looked great. 2 years later I am giving this review, simply to let you know they last and still feel great. The dab of paste I use for security is tasteless. Now, I am planning to return to have 2 implants on the bottom with a snap on denture to match my top plate. I'll be sure to come back and let you know how that goes. I wouldn't want anyone but Dr Bibb and his staff taking care of me.

I had been going to this dental office since 2012. It was a good business back then but now they are subpar and I will never go back here. I made an emergency appt and Dr. Hussey said I needed 4 fillings. I followed his recommendations and he made all my filling way too low. He was in a hurry and got me out of there as soon as possible. I came back multiple times to tell him the filling weren't not right and I'm still having pain in the same area. He shugged his shoulder and didnt care, other patients to get to. It's been almost a year later and I am still having the same problem that originally brought me im (pain when I drink/eat anything cold). They do not care about quality work. They just want your money for sub-standard service. Dr. Bibb does not guarantee the work of the dentist he employees, and he will let you know it. The assistants and front service people are nice though. I would avoid this business if at all possible.

Needed broken top denture replaced. After two days of back and forth with six appointments. And six wax try in's. All I received was a tilted off center top denture and a ill tempered Dr.Bibb. That would rather refund the money and get rid of you oppose to saving a 9 year client. Better off at one of those economy places.

The worst customer service. Im in the military. Called them up and asked if i could get a form filled up from my last visit to update my military deployment packet. They said no prob. Then called me back to say i needed to be seen because the new dentist who did my cleaning in the previous visit wasn't working there anymore and at that point i had to be seen again. They said it was all covered before I left office. Months later I get a call due to a non payment and within the conversation the employee said...Well you are not the one paying us is the insurace!..... I said well who pays the insurance to pay you?
