I love coming to work every day and having the opportunity to interact with my patients. Orthodontics is such an exciting field, both intellectually as technological advancements continue to evolve at a rapid pace, and emotionally as I greatly enjoy building relationships with the people I help.
Dr. Richard E. Jones, II has been an orthodontist in private practice in the Geist area of Indianapolis, IN since 1995. He moved to Scottsdale, Arizonain 2010 and opened Arctic Smiles Orthodontics, which is now recognized as the COOLEST place for braces in Scottsdale.
Dr. Jones holds a B.A. from DePauw University in 1989, and a Doctorate in Dentistry from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1993. Hecompletedan orthodontic residency at the University of Minnesota in 1995. His graduate-level orthodontic research was conducted at the University of Minnesota and the Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Jones was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and has presented award-winning research in Boston and St. Louis. He has also been published in the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics andfeatured in newspaper and television stories for his expertise in orthodontics.
Dr. Jones hones his clinical, customer service, and people skills by attending local dental study clubs, as well asstate and national meetings endorsed by the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association throughout the year.
While Dr. Jones is away from the COOLEST place for braces in Scottsdale, he spends time with his fianceMaria and their five teenagers. They enjoy traveling, hiking, and the company of friends. They also have two dogs:Sam and Sadie.
As a former college football player at DePauw, Dr. Jones still loves cheering on his Bears, Colts, and Cardinals. When hes not attending his kids sporting events, you might spot him on Pinnacle Peak, the tennis courts, or even at the Phoenix Comic Con!

I spend time with all of our new patients to learn what their desires are, so Dr. Jones can develop a treatment plan that is specific to their individual needs. I also determine how to utilize the maximum benefits with insurance, HSA, and flex plans to create the best and most affordable financial arrangement. I love watching our patients transform and seeing the confidence they gain from a beautiful new smile that will last a lifetime. I joined Dr. Jones team in 2010, at the very beginning of this office, and am proud to be part of a group of people who genuinely care for one another like family.
I have been in the orthodontic industry for over 20 years. I love working with Dr. Jones and helping to create beautiful smiles for our patients. I have twoamazing children (a son and daughter) and anadorable grandpup named Yoda. In my spare time, I enjoy baking, going to dinner with my family, and travelling. I joined withArctic Smiles Orthodonticsin 2014and love being apart of the Arctic Smiles Team.
I have been in the Dental field for about 8 years. 2 of which were spent in Pediatric Dentistry and the remainder in the Orthodontic field. I love Ortho because its fun to see people go through the process and coming out with a beautiful smile. I am originally from Boston, Massachusetts.I have 3 sons ages 17, 15 and 13 that keep me busy. I spend free time cooking and doing yoga :).
Many people want orthodontic treatment to improve their smile without fully understanding what orthodontics is. Sure, it straightens teeth, often uses braces, and can greatly impact quality of life, but what about the specifics? Here is what our patients need to know.
Orthodontics relies on appliances, therapies, and in some cases, surgery. The appliances, however, are the start of the show. These can be removable or fixed in place by bonding them to the teeth. They use gentle force to do everything from moving teeth to expanding the width of the jaw.
The length of treatment will vary between patients. Some may need as little as six months in active treatment, while others could be wearing appliances for over three years. You make the biggest difference in how long it takes. The more diligent you are about following the instructions we give you, the sooner treatment will be over.

It is truly hard to put into words how much love and appreciation I have for Arctic Smiles. After going through one of the most stressful dental experiences of my life Mr. Jones and his team saw me as soon as possible to fix issues caused by another orthodontist. They not only fixed my extreme pain and stress but have taken care of me from that day forward in giving me the perfect smile I've always dreamed of. If you're looking for an orthodontist who not only does incredible work, but also makes you feel safe and taken care of this is the top office I would recommend for anyone.

Staff was relatively nice, however they called me when I was 5 minutes away to tell me they dont accept my insurance. I live over an hour away so an earlier call would have been more than helpful, and I called my insurance prior to reaching out to make sure they were in network. I reported them to Cigna.

Dr. Jones and his staff are amazing! My oldest daughter had her braces put on by him several years ago after we received several recommendations to see him from friends. She loved how cool the office was decorated and how funny Dr. Jones is. I appreciated how caring the staff is and how well Dr. Jones explains the treatment plan. My daughter has a beautiful smile thanks to Dr. Jones and when my youngest is ready for braces, she will see him as well. I highly recommend Dr. Jones!

Dr. Jones and his staff are consummate professionals. We experienced an out of hours wire detach from the brace brackets, which caused major discomfort, and Dr. Jones answered by personal cell and met us at his office within 30 minutes. Great customer service, great staff, always friendly and informative with treatment and process.
