It takes more than technical skills to be a good children's dentist. It takes compassion and commitment. Dr. Eddie So has those traits in abundance. While making your child - and you - comfortable, he gets your child off on the right path to dental health.
Dr. Eddie received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Organic Chemistry from UC San Diego in 1991. Upon graduation, Dr. Eddie was involved with HIV research as an organic/biochemist at Hybritech Pharmaceuticals and Agouron Pharmaceuticals in San Diego for four years. In 1995, he was admitted to University of Southern California School of dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Eddie went on to receive a special training in advanced pediatric dentistry from University of Southern California and a hospital residency training from miller's children hospital in long beach and children's hospital of Los Angeles. Dr. Eddie is a Diplomate of American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Besides providing dental care for children in private practice, Dr. Eddie is also active with local and national dental societies. Dr. Eddie has served on the Board of Directors of California Society of Pediatric Dentistry. He is the Past President of Pediatric Dental Alumni Association at USC. He is also members of various dental organizations, including the California Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Dentistry for Children, Orange County Dental Society, and the San Gabriel Valley Dental Society.
Dr. Alexander Alcaraz earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine. He attended Harvard University to earn his degree in dental medicine (Class of 2005). Although he loved the experience of living in Boston, the warmer days in California and being close to his loved ones was too hard to resist. He moved back to California and obtained his certificate in pediatric dentistry at the University of Southern California (USC). During his program, he worked at Children's Hospital Los Angeles specializing in the oral health care of medically compromised children.
Dr. Alcaraz currently is the director for the Advance Program in Pediatric Dentistry and department co-chair of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics at USC Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry. He is the Past President of the Pediatric Dental Association/USC. Dr. Alcaraz is very active with the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry and has served on the Board of Directors. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Tom Gibson grew up in San Clemente, California. He attended the University of California at Irvine where he graduated early with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. He then went on to Northwestern University Dental School where he graduated with honors and entered an advanced training residency in orthodontics. He finished his residency with a Master's degree in oral biology and received his specialty certificate in orthodontics. Dr. Gibson has been devoted full time to the practice of orthodontics for over 20 years.
Dr. Gibson is known as a conscientious and caring Orthodontist. He has practiced with faculty and alumni from the most prestigious dental schools. He is a member of many dental associations including the American Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the California Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the Harbor Dental Society.

We love Dr. Eddie So and his staff. We are always seen soon after we arrive. His clinic is always clean and staffed with professional and polite team members. What we love the most is Dr. Eddie's gentle, engaging and empathetic view of treating title patients. He can easily talk to a child and make the child feel comfortable and trust him. My son was always very anxious going to the dentist, but Dr. Eddie made him feel at ease. Dr. Eddie makes the visit fun. Another plus is that he can work brilliantly with special needs children. My youngest son is a special needs child, and Dr. Eddie and his staff are accommodating and understanding to this special group. He lets us visit his clinic before the appointment date so that my son could get familiarized with the surroundings, sit on the seat, reclining down, look, and feel the dental tools before the big day. My experience so far in the 8 yrs we have been coming here has been superb. His office has moved from Arcadia to Monrovia, but it's still near Arcadia. We will follow Dr. Eddie wherever he goes. He is that good!

This place is called ARCADIA Pediatric etc. but it's located near downtown Monrovia. It's not even close to Arcadia. In my opinion that's just plain dumb.

We love Dr. Eddie and his entire staff. When we needed to take our daughter to get dental work we looked around, went to several pediatric dentists and found Dr. Eddie to be the best. We have been going there for about 8 years or so and are so glad we found him. I highly recommend Dr. Eddie.

Took my daughter for her first ever dentist visit. From the time she walked in the door they did everything they could to put her at ease and make it fun for her. Dr. Soo and his staff were wonderful. After her visit was over she asked when she was going back. If you have children I highly recommend them.

We love Dr. Eddie and his entire staff. When we needed to take our daughter to get dental work we looked around, went to several pediatric dentists and found Dr. Eddie to be the best. We have been going there for about 8 years or so and are so glad we found him. I highly recommend Dr. Eddie.

I would like to preface this review by saying I did not personally take my child there, and cannot speak to the facilities, service, or staff. Perhaps the next question is then, why do I feel qualified to write a negative review, let alone a review at all? I will briefly describe what earned simply one star. My daughter needed dental care out of state, and I called them to get her dental records and X-rays. They asked for my email address and sent them five minutes later. While I appreciate the expediency in which they delivered the documents, I was soon wondering why none of my personal information was verified. Not only did they not ask my name, number, or any other personally identifiable information in regards to me or my daughter, I feel it necessary to point out I should not be able to call a dentist office and ask for dental records and X-rays (even if by name) and have them provided to any email address I specify, unencrypted and unverified. Maybe dental records are not the most exciting information someone could steal, but there is enough information that a social engineer could use it for some nefarious purpose. To have such a cavalier attitude towards my daughter's information earns you negative stars, but I don't have that option on Google.
