Dr. Axx has been practicing Endodontics since 2006 and has lived in Phoenix since 2007.He is a native New Yorker and attended college at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. He then went to SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in Buffalo, NY; completed a General Practice Residency and a Chief Residency at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY; and then practiced General Dentistry in Manhattan, NY. After developing a passion for Endodontics, he attended Temple Universitys Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA and completed a Residency in Endodontics.After completion of his training, Dr. Axx moved to Phoenix and has been providing root canal therapy and other endodontic services for patients in the Valley since 2007.He has completed over 21,000 cases.
In 2010, Dr. Axx achieved his Board Certification and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. In Arizona, less than 20% of Endodontists have completed all necessary steps to become Board Certified and Dr. Axx is proud to practice according to the standards set by the Board.
Dr. Axx is the Lead Endodontic Faculty for the Brighter Way Dental Clinic where he instructs Student Dentists from A.T. Still University School of Dental and Oral Health in patient care regarding Endodontics.
Dr. Clatanoff is a native Phoenician who graduated with highest honors from Stevens Institute of Technology with a degree in Chemical Biology. He then attended the prestigious USC School of Dentistry where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Clatanoff was commissioned as an Officer in the United States Army Dental Corps and remained on active duty for 8 years. He served tours of duty at Fort Jackson, SC, Kandahar,Afghanistan, and Fort Gordon, GA, where he completed a two-year residency in Endodontics. Dr. Clatanoff spent his final 3 years of service at Fort Drum, NY, presiding as Chief of Endodontics. In the spring of 2018, he returned to Phoenix and has been performing root canal treatment and numerous other endodontic procedures at Arcadia Endodontics since that time.
As a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, Dr. Clatanoff has completed all necessary steps to become Board Certified. This distinction is the pinnacle achievement in the field of endodontics and makes Dr. Clatanoff one of only 16 practicing endodontists in the Valley who are Board Certified.
Dr. Clatanoff is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, and Arizona Dental Association. He is a passionate lecturer and enjoys opportunities such as working at the Brighter Way Clinic to mentor others dentists in the field of endodontics.
Dr. Clatanoff lives in the Arcadia neighborhood with his wife, Kathryn, and their children, Landon, Carson and Norah. In his spare time, Dr. Clatanoff enjoys spending time with his family, staying active outdoors and supporting the Valley sports teams.

This is my second root canal with Doc ax I went with the wave treatment and he was very good gentle because I have a small mouth opening but gets the job done Kind and professional Thank you.

They brutalized my mouth with the needles. Pushing the needle through the nerve cluster into what felt like into ear canal. Therefore the numbing properties did not work very well. We had to stop the gentle wave procedure 3-4 times to apply more injections. They dropped the old temporary cap on the ground and when the procedure was done they picked it up off the ground and used it in my mouth. It disintegrated in a matter of two days and required an emergency Sunday trip to my dentist to protect the loosely protected hole in my molar. Within three weeks they auto charged my credit card for the balance that insurance did not cover. Stating that they had sent several invoices via email and regular mail but that did not appear to be the case in less than 30 days. Overall this experience was terrible and I would never recommend this office for a procedure.

Dr. Axx provided the best dental experience I've ever had along with the person assisting during the root canals. Felt extremely comfortable and safe at the office. I still have and use the little sanitizer bottle provided. In the event I need to see an endodontist again, this will be my go to. Worth the travel from Peoria for the anxiety relief provided.

All associates at Arcadia Endodontics were pleasant, and professional. Dr. Clatanoff was great at explaining how he was going to proceed. Asked several times if I was comfortable or in any pain during the process of my Root Canal procedure "I didn't feel any discomfort." His assistant Amy, was also professional and took care to prep me for the procedure professionally and pleasantly. Thank you to all at Arcadia Endodontics for a pleasant procedure!

Dr. Clatanoff is very professional and polite. I was sent to him by my dentist for a root canal treatment and I didn't feel a thing. I am very sensitive and always a little scared when I go to a dentist, but this time it was really easy and relaxing. The place is very clean and the staff very courteous and efficient. I highly recommend Arcadia Endodontics.

I cannot express the wonderful experience I had with Dr. Clatanoff & Misty. Dental Assistant!! Although I was dreading the procedure, the gentle & compassionate care I received overshadowed any worries I had. They were so professional, yet so much fun! They are a great team! The office staff were also so kind, responsive, & professional!! I would highly recommend Arcadia Endodontics to anyone!!! They are so caring!!

I was really impressed with Arcadia Endodontics. The entire staff is professional, efficient and friendly. They were able to work me in for both an evaluation and root canal. Dr. Clatanoff and his Medical Asst, Amy, were a fantastic team who set realistic expectations, and communicated clearly to me and to each other. Dr. Clatanoff personally called me day after my procedure to see how I was doing. What a nice touch. And I felt great. I would highly recommend Arcadia Endodontics!!

Dr. Clatanoff was incredible. I was referred here from Arcadia Dentistry for a very time sensitive and last minute root canal. They got me in and completed it on a whim with extreme professionalism. Update: 24 hours after my root canal, I have zero pain or discomfort... I've only taken 600mg of ibuprofen right after the procedure. Dr. C is extremely gentle and talented A+, Newest technology, upscale facility, excellent staff and dental work. My root canal went excellent and was explained throughly. I feel confident with regular cleanings that my dental work will last a lifetime.

I recently came and saw Dr. Clatanoff for a minor root canal which was my first ever dental procedure having only needed teeth cleanings and orthodontist work done in the past. Dr. Clatanoff and his assistant Misty were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! I am extremely scared of needles and Misty was so great, comforting me the entire time and making sure I had everything I needed and more, while Dr. Clatanoff was so gentle with the procedure while being alert to how I was feeling. The procedure went quicker than I expected & extremely well and I felt VERY confident in his work when leaving his office which isn't something I feel most people have after the first time or so with a new medical professional when putting your body at their mercy of them and their knowledge. Dr. Clatanoff called me the next morning to check how I was doing which really verified how much he cares about his patient's and the work he does. Dr. Clatanoff and his team were phenomenal and I don't think there's a thing I would change or they could even improve on! They truly hit all the marks and set a new standard. They deserve more than 5 stars that's for sure! (:

Dr. Clatanoff and team are amazing. I've been suffering for two years from a bad root canal. Went to my regular dentist and they didn't find anything wrong for two years Dr Clatanoff elite skill felt so efficient and precise all the bacteria and infection was removed and repaired. I felt no pain and immediate relief after the root canal. The team was great had the best communication and we're warm and friendly. Thank you.

Great office! Katrina was super sweet and talked me down from my anxiety. Dr Clatanoff was awesome! Gentle. Great bedside manner. Made me feel comfortable and didn't push for an unnecessary root canal. Will definitely be back to this office if I ever need it. I'm moving out of state but would fly back here in a heartbeat to see Dr Clatanoff if needed!

Outstanding office. Dr. Axx and his staff are friendly, compassionate, and very professional. Forgot I was having a root canal. The appointment was stress free and flew by. I would give them 10 stars if possible. Fabulous, fabulous doctor.

Excellent group of professionals. Dr Clatanoff takes time to explain in detail his diagnosis and proposed treatment plan. Amy and Alissa are polite and informative. The practice is fair and honest and their high level dental knowledge and experience is very reassuring.

Dr Axx and his assistant Martha were AMAZING! Just had to have my first root canal and the whole office took great care of me. They both were great about telling me what they were doing and constantly checking in to make sure I was doing well. Highly recommend!
