As a child, Dr. John Pappas was very fearful of the dentist. When his family chose a new dentist, whose love for dentistry shone through in everything he did, his feelings began to change. Over time, he became inspired by his work and the genuine connections he made with each of his patients. That dentist-patient relationship that was pivotal in helping him cope with his fears is one that Dr. Pappas has brought to Arcadia Dental Arts and is a pillar in his practice.
Dr. Pappas received his education at Creighton University School of Dentistry. His dedication to dentistry hasnt gone unnoticed as he received an award for the Recognition of Outstanding Commitment to Life-Long Learning from the University of Southern Californias School of Dentistry. In 2013, Dr. Pappas was the only dentist in Arizona to receive the title of a Top Dentist by Phoenix Magazine in both the categories of General Dentist and Cosmetic Dentist. He was again the recipient of the Top Dentist title in 2015.
Dr. Pappass commitment to dentistry doesnt stop when he leaves his Arcadia practice. Dr. Pappas is a Spear Study Club leader in which he mentors and collaborates with other general and specialty dentists in the Phoenix area. He is also a Faculty Club Member at the Spear Institute, an elite group of professionals dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and skill in the field of advanced restorative dentistry.
When not focused on patient care, Dr. Pappas loves his most important role as husband and father of two, Jonah (12) and Zoe (7). He has a great passion for health and endurance fitness, training for and competing in Ironman Triathlons, a grueling 140.6 mile race consisting of swimming, cycling and running. In 2017, Dr. Pappas qualified for the honor of racing at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.
Dr. Pappas loves dentistry because the work he does really changes lives. For people living in pain or those unhappy with their appearance, Dr. Pappas has dedicated his life to using his skill and expertise to help bring healing and happiness.

Dr. Pappas has created practice that I would recommend to everyone. My past dental experiences has left me with some mixed levels of PTSD. I know that sounds dramatic, but is so true. I now can walk in to an environment that makes me comfortable with a team that does not judge. Even with the poor current state of my dental health, he and his team do quality work and have done repair of previous dental work. By far the best dental practice I have ever experienced.

Dr. Pappas and his team are great. MJ cleaned my teeth today and they feel wonderful. I know many people are frightened to go to the dentist, but Dr. Pappas and his staff treat his patients like family and provide excellent care. I will never go anywhere else for my dental needs.

When thinking of my first experience with Arcadia Dental Arts this morning, I think of people - sincere, open, competent, thorough, professional, fun-living, serious people. I mean that. A visit to the dentist's office that was truly a pleasure. Really? Yes. I had even made note of Kim's name when I made my appointment, just because of those qualities . Then when I walked in, I met Alba...who did all the prep work, pictures, and x-rays. Next, Dr John, who was more thorough in finding out the condition and health of my teeth, and all associated muscles and hinges than I knew existed; who then listed all the options, with the pros and cons, and answered my questions. Then on to MJ for cleaning. Have I had my teeth as well cleaned and attended to before? My questions answered so thoroughly? If so. I don't recall it. Each of these people were a continuation of what I felt about Kim when I made my appointment...who I then spoke with as I exited. Yes, she confirmed once again, my original perception. It seems illogical to say that it was a pleasure to visit the dentist's office, but I must! :)

As a wife of someone who is terrified of the dentist, this was the absolute BEST experience we have ever had. From the front office who was so kind to my 2 year old, to the attentive assistant and detailed hygienist, I couldn't rave more! Dr.Pappas has the best bed side manner, is very thorough and patient. He explained and prioritized everything to meet our needs and concerns. The office is beautiful as well! This is definitely our dental family now, and I highly recommend this place!!!!

I was referred to Dr Pappas after having multiple problems and insufficient care. Dr Pappas state of the art equipment, analysis and skills have turned my dental care into preventive management instead of expensive and painful repairs.
