As a child, Dr. John Pappas was very fearful of the dentist. When his family chose a new dentist, whose love for dentistry shone through in everything he did, his feelings began to change. Over time, he became inspired by his work and the genuine connections he made with each of his patients. That dentist-patient relationship that was pivotal in helping him cope with his fears is one that Dr. Pappas has brought to Arcadia Dental Arts and is a pillar in his practice.
Dr. Pappas received his education at Creighton University School of Dentistry. His dedication to dentistry hasnt gone unnoticed as he received an award for the Recognition of Outstanding Commitment to Life-Long Learning from the University of Southern Californias School of Dentistry. In 2013, Dr. Pappas was the only dentist in Arizona to receive the title of a Top Dentist by Phoenix Magazine in both the categories of General Dentist and Cosmetic Dentist. He was again the recipient of the Top Dentist title in 2015.
Dr. Pappass commitment to dentistry doesnt stop when he leaves his Arcadia practice. Dr. Pappas is a Spear Study Club leader in which he mentors and collaborates with other general and specialty dentists in the Phoenix area. He is also a Faculty Club Member at the Spear Institute, an elite group of professionals dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and skill in the field of advanced restorative dentistry.
When not focused on patient care, Dr. Pappas loves his most important role as husband and father of two, Jonah (12) and Zoe (7). He has a great passion for health and endurance fitness, training for and competing in Ironman Triathlons, a grueling 140.6 mile race consisting of swimming, cycling and running. In 2017, Dr. Pappas qualified for the honor of racing at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.
