Dr. Phillip Harwood grew up in Northridge, California and subsequently graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in psychology. Soon thereafter Dr. Harwood married his wife Debbie and in 1984 they packed up their lives in California to head to Omaha, Nebraska so Dr. Harwood could attend Dental School at Creighton University. Dr. Harwood graduated in 1988 after serving as president of his class for the last two years he was at Creighton. From Omaha, the Harwood Family, which now included twin daughters, moved to Denver where Dr. Harwood participated in a General Practice Residency (GPR) at the Denver Veterans Affairs Hospital.
In 1989 as his GPR was coming to a close, Dr. Harwood interviewed at Arapahoe Dental when the practice was still owned by Dr. Paul Franklund. Needless to say the interview went well and Dr. Harwood has been here ever since. Since moving to Boulder, Dr. Harwood and his wife have had three more children, making a total of five!
Dr. Harwood firmly believes that his education is never complete, and works hard to further his education for his own benefit and for his patients benefit. The doctor is not afraid of the new technology as can be demonstrated by his completion of the prestigious Gordon Christensen Mentorship at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry and his invitation to be a Cerec Doctors Mentor at the same location. Community is also very important to the doctor. He is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Colorado Dental Association (CDA), and frequently donates time and services to children through the Boulder Valley School District, and adults in need through the Dental Lifeline Network.
A native of Arizona, Dr. Paul Schauwecker made his way to Colorado for his undergraduate degree at Colorado College, where he graduated Cum Laude with a BA in Biology in 2011, and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society. Much of those four years were spent exploring the rivers, mountains, and animals of this beautiful state, and a semester of study in Costa Rica helped Dr. Schauwecker develop fluency in Spanish, which he still uses to this day.
Dr. Schauwecker soon traded mountains for cornfields, graduating from Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska in 2017. After graduation, he jumped at the opportunity to pursue an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency on the small Caribbean island of St. Croix. Working in this underserved community gave Dr. Schauwecker invaluable experience in Oral Surgery, Endodontics, and Prosthodontics, while the island lifestyle broadened his horizons in the arts of spearfishing, snorkeling, and scuba diving.
Dr. Schauwecker has found his new home at Arapahoe Dental, where he looks forward to providing high quality, patient-oriented care for the Boulder community. By focusing on the patient's health as a whole, and listening fully to the patient's concerns and desires, Dr. Schauwecker believes that exceptional outcomes can be accomplished for every single patient.
If you have any questions about raising boys, or dental insurance, Rosalinda is the one to ask. As the longest Arapahoe Dental employee, with over 20 years of experience, there isn't a question that she can't answer. Rosalinda is fluent in Spanish and is always ready to translate. She is a pleasure to work with, since you can always count on her for a friendly smile and help.Along with her great work here, she owns a farm in Fort Lupton, complete with over forty animals and a garden. She has also raised five boys (including two sets of twins!) and now has one grandson.

Cheryl is one of our newest team members. She grew up in Boulder, moved away, and then moved back back twenty-six years later. She always knew that she would end up in Colorado, which she calls Gods Country! She has a Short-haired German Pointer and two children: an 11-year-old daughter named Loren and a 27-year-old son named Michael. She also enjoys puzzles and working on projects around the house.
Dana has been a dental hygienist for over 30 years. She settled in Colorado after many years in the Bay Area and is happily raising her teenage daughter, Alexis. Together they enjoy traveling, which frequently takes them to her hometown of Las Vegas to visit family. Her goal is to visit as many countries as possible because of she is passionate about meeting new people and learning about different cultures. Dana uses her M.A. in Counseling Psychology to volunteer as a Community Mediator in Boulder as well.
'I strive to provide the most up-todate and thorough dental care to my patients in a manner that feels gentle and supportive. I enjoy getting to know my patients and hearing their stories because I believe there is always something to learn. I also love the engaging and friendly atmosphere in our office. All of our fun and laughter makes it feel like one big family.'
Heather grew up in the Boulder area, graduated from Niwot High School, and is a die-hard Broncos fan. She enjoys hiking and fishing in the mountains with her family and dogs as often as she can. Heather has been a patient of Dr. Harwood since she was a child, and years later, followed his advice to pursue a career as a hygienist. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Creighton University and graduated from Dental Hygiene school at Colorado Northwestern Community College.After working as a hygienist for a few years, she joined the Arapahoe Dental team.
Krysta has just started her journey into dentistry as a dental assistant. She hopes to continue her education to become a hygienist. As a Colorado native, she loves the outdoors and spends her free time hiking and exploring the mountains. She also loves arts and crafts, along with hanging out with her three cats and tortoise.
Tashi was born in Tibet and grew up in India. She came to the United Statesin December of 2008 to join her husband, who was studying at the Universityof Wyoming. Tashi and her husband moved to Colorado in 2012 and they fellin love with all that Colorado has to offer. They have two lovely children:a 9 year old son and a 3 year old daughter. Tashi loves spending time withher family, cooking, and also her new job as a dental assistant.
I have only been here for about 5 months, but I have really enjoyedworking with all my co-workers. They are all really nice and always helpfulwhenever I need help. Dr. Harwood and Dr. Schauwecker have been thegreatest people to work for.'

I've had a lot of disappointing dentists and dental work over the years, but Dr. Schauwecker at Arapahoe Dental has been amazing and one of the best!! Over the past 3 years, I've had him treat me with respect, common sense, and EXCELLENT dental work. In fact, I feel as though he undid a lot of mediocre to poor, past dental work and set me up for long-term success. Great location, amazing staff (front desk, hygienists, dental assistants), and a calm environment. My pearly whites are all set!

Dr Harwood is by far the best dentist I have ever been to ! My dental needs are out of the ordinary but I have felt so cared for and I am so grateful for the kindness and patience I have experienced at arapahoe dental. Dr. Harwood has gone above and beyond for me and I am glad I was referred to him right when I was in need of some pretty serious dental work , I feel like I'm in very good hands and would highly recommend this office!

Arapaho Dental, specifically Dr. Paul Schauwecker, has been helping me out of a pretty unfortunate bind I ended up in for a few years now. Long story short, an unfortunate stomach condition led to many of my teeth (over 20 of them) requiring a lot of work. After a dentist from another state attempted and failed to fix my mouth, Dr. Shauwecker has been working tirelessly with me to get my mouth in working order once again and we're nearing the finish line. His work is always done meticulously, with care, and most importantly, he stands by it. I couldn't be more grateful for the whole team over there and all the effort they've put into making my life a little less stressful and A LOT less painful!

I had a wonderful (as much as you can at the dentist haha!) experience at Arapahoe Dental. Dr. Schauwecker was courteous and knowledgeable; providing tips and suggestions to address habits I didn't tell him I had. He conducted x-rays and a cleaning. The entire staff took their COVID precautions seriously and I felt very safe.

I've been going to Dr. Harwood for several years and I've been very impressed with the quality of his work, as well as the care taken with me. His office staff is cordial and efficient, so I enjoy talking with them when I'm at the office. I have found that all of the other staff (hygenists, etc) are competent and sensitive to my needs. I enjoy this dentist because he is able to perform all dental tasks, makes his own crowns, and generally is accommodating to patient's concerns regarding requests to perform his work carefully. Overall, he gets an A+ from me and I highly recommend this dentist.

I'm a big fan of Dr. Schauwecker; he's thorough, he explains his steps, and I've never felt any pain. With COVID-19 him and his team have been very careful with face shields and masks and room separations in the UI. My wife and I are happy patients. I even asked for a cleaning (no one asks for cleanings :)

I would highly recommend this dentist office to anyone! I have been going to Arapahoe Dental as long as I have had teeth and Dr. Harwood is always so kind and does an amazing job. I know most people hate the dentist but my experiences here have actually made me enjoy going to the dentist. 10/10 recommend!!

Yesterday I had a root canal performed at Arapahoe Dental. Half-way through the procedure, the electricity went out and stayed out for over an hour! The staff remained perfectly calm/professionally/friendly and was clever enough to figure out how to do most of the procedure operating only on battery power. Great place where you can get same-day crowns.

I've been fortunate to be a part of the medial family at Arapahoe Dental for several years now. I absolutely love Dr. Harwood, his medical professionals, and the front/back office team! They are an extraordinary team with a singular focus of providing the best dental care. As a technology person, I love that they use the latest technology and best practices to not only improve the patient experience, but instill efficiency and precision in all of their dental procedures from teeth cleanings to root canals. And their transparency in collaborating with you on the issues, concerns, and strategies is very comforting and assures that the best course of action is taken. I'm not a big fan of writing reviews, except when the experience is... truly exceptional.
