Dr. Alexandra Aponte completed her early years of training in Austin, Texas where she graduated with a B.S. in Biology. She then went on to graduate from the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. After receiving her doctoral degree, Dr. Aponte was accepted into the competitive General Practice Residency at the Washington, D.C. Veterans Affairs Hospital. Her time in this program allowed her to complete extensive training in advanced practices of dentistry such asimplant therapy,surgical techniques, and modern dayrestorative procedures. However, her most important
experiences were gained in being able to provide quality care to our nations veterans. Dr. Apontes patients appreciate that she places emphasis on honest education and preventative dental care. Her friendly demeanor puts patients at ease during treatment. She truly cares for each patient and treats them as if they were a member of the family. Dr. Aponte is committed to continuing education and takes many advanced courses each year to enhance her skills to better serve thedental careneeds of her patients and provide them with a gentle and comfortable dental experience.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Aponte values time with her family, close friends, and husband, Landis. In 2020, Dr. Aponte and Landis welcomed a baby boy named Leandro or Leo for short. They reside in Austin, Texas along with their energetic german shorthaired pointer, Remi.
Dr. Brazil was raised in Katy, Texas. Growing up, he was actively involved in organized sports, and had a passion for the outdoors. Dr. Brazil attended Texas State University, and was accepted into the Dental Early Admissions Program while earning his bachelor degree in Biology. Following his studies at Texas State, Dr. Brazil attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS). Upon completion of dental school, he completed the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program at the UT
Health Science Center in San Antonio. During his residency, he received extensive training in comprehensive dentistry, and focused his efforts on learning conscious sedation techniques and surgical procedures such as removal of wisdom teeth and implant placement. In addition to his residency training, Dr. Brazil has completed the Preceptorship in Dental Implantology at the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio.In his spare time, Dr. Brazil spends time with his wife London. He also enjoys playing the guitar, running, biking, backpacking, and spending time in the outdoors.
She is joining us all the way from Toronto, CA. and recently relocated to warm & sunny, Austin, Texas to enjoy the friendly people and beautiful scenery. Dr. Khalid loves spending time with family and friends as well as staying active along all the hiking and biking trails around Austin, which remind her so much of her hometown. She also enjoys reading, drawing and traveling. Clear communication and patient education is a top priority for Dr. Khalid. Shes always willing to take time to answer any questions or concerns to put her patients at ease.

My Hygienist, Ashley, was extremely gentle and thorough. She educated me on how I could better care for my teeth. Dr. Aponte took great care during my treatment. She constantly made sure I was was comfortable and not in pain. I recommend AquaSprings Dental wholeheartedly!

I went in for a cleaning on Friday October 21st. Brenda was my dental hygienist and Dr. Khalid checked in on me after the cleaning. As usual both did a great job and entire team is always very friendly with a tremendous attention to detail. Dr. Aponte has put together a top notch team across the board at Aqua Springs Dental. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for the best dental care in the San Marcos area.

Hygienist was really friendly but very careless with cleaning. Receptionist was very rude. Definitely room for improvement.dentist was also friendly. We will definitely be looking for another dental office to get further treatment after we're done with our current treatment in place.

I've been going to AquaSprings Dental for years and every experience has been positive. Going to the dentist is never fun, and I used to have anxiety that made it worse, but everyone here is so kind and accommodating that it's easy for me to be relaxed. Everyone is friendly, and I feel confident in their hands. Unlike some dentists, they're not trying to constantly upsell things. I feel confident that if they recommend a treatment, it's the best course of action. They're careful and methodical, and happy to explain everything about what they're doing. Overall, I highly recommend them. I don't think you'll find a better dentist in San Marcos.

Really nice associates who checked on me frequently and made sure I was comfortable. Procedures, price, and paperwork were very clear and upfront. There are a lot of things offered to me that aren't covered by insurance, which is really hard to sort out what is "actually" needed, what is recommended, and what is a cash grab. TVs on the ceiling, which is a nice touch. Very clean and presentable office space.
