My work enables me to improve the emotional and physical health of people in our community. Its tremondously rewarding, and I love every minute of it.

We treat patients of all ages and specialize in braces and Invisalign. We work with each patient to develop a personal treatment plan that works best for their smile. We serve all the high desert communities includingApple Valley, Victorville, Hesperia, Adelanto, Oak Hills, Barstow, Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead.

I am a firm believer in continual learning, no matter what ones profession. In orthodontics, though, there are constant developments in treatments, materials, and new technologies. By pursuing continuing education I am able to stay at the leadingedge of these changes, and ensuremy patients receive the highest level of care and have access to the best treatments.

Im originally from Ponce, Puerto Rico. After studying and working as a dentist and researcher in New York City, I moved to Cleveland, OH, for my orthodontics program. It was there I met myhusband. We moved to California and I was inprivate practice in the Los Angeles area beforecomingto Apple Valley in 2011.

When Im not caring for my patients, being with my family is my priority and enjoying my time with my 3 beautiful children. I enjoy staying healthy and fit. Traveling is a passion of mine, especially spending time with my family on the beaches of Puerto Rico.

Dr. Velez has also been featured in the Victor Valley News and also recognized as 'Top Orthodontist' in regional magazines. Being with my family and friends is my priority when Im not working. I have two amazing sons and I love spending time with them. Some of my hobbies are taking pictures, making quilts, crocheting, and scrapbooking. I really enjoy taking family trips to the lake, beach, Disneyland, etc.

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.

Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!

Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.
