Dr. Britt Barwise, DDS, has been in Nueces County for over 30 years, and he currently calls Port Aransas home. However, he was born in Austin and spent most of his early years growing up in Fredericksburg, TX, before graduating from Fredericksburg High School in 1980. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Angelo State University in 1985. was After being accepted into all three Texas Dental Schools, he attended one of the top dental schools in the nation, the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, TX. He subsequently graduated from there in 1987.

Dr. Barwise entered into private practice in Corpus Christi at Apple Dental Center Inc. in 1987, where he has continued to practice ever since. For more than 30 years, he has been a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the Nueces Valley District Dental Society.

Dr. Barwise is an avid fisherman, holds a U.S. Coast Guard Captains license, is a long-time board member, and past President of the Corpus Christi Big Game Fishing Club. He spent many hours on his family's ranch at a young age, hunting and enjoying the great outdoors. He continues to share this enthusiasm with his wife of many years, Christy. Dr. Barwise and Christy are both active in their children's school and sporting activities. They have two children, Kylee (daughter) and Mason (son).

Cathy joined our dental family in June, 1989 as our Business Manager. She is responsible for all aspects of our office, from managing the office and insurance responsibilities to making sure we have happy patients. Her patience and understanding nature allows her to handle any and all situations that may arise with professionalism and compassion. Subsequently, she has gained the respect of all Apple Dental Center employees and our patient's alike. Cathy is single. She has two wonderful children. Bradley Stapp, her son, and he has given her 2 beautiful granddaughters, Kendyl and Harper. Cathy loves all animals and for fun enjoys gambling, traveling, and spending time with family and friends but especially her granddaughters!

After Christy graduated from Midwestern State University in the Dental Hygiene program, she began working as a hygienist in a big dental clinic in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Christy moved from the Dallas/Fort Worth area to Corpus Christi to help open Apple Dental Center's doors in 1987. She has been in the dental field for over 30 years and at Apple Dental Center for over 25 years. She started off as a hygienist for Apple Dental Center and was promoted to a Manager shortly after. She has been married to Dr. Barwise for many years and they share two beautiful children, Kylee and Mason. And you may also recognize Christy and her smile because it is the one we use in our commercial!

Gloria has been assisting our Office Manager and Dr. Barwise since 2012 with a small break during that period. She graduated from HM King High School in Kingsville and has 3 boys. Her education is vast, beginning at Kingsville A&M where she studied her basics. She then went on to Coastal Bend College to study medical office. Afterwards she attended Southwest College for pharmacy tech training. She ended up putting all her education to use at our office. She is currently a Certified Nurses Assistant and also enjoys helping the elderly in her spare time.

Silvia has worked here since May, 1987. She was the face you first saw the day we opened Apple Dental Center and currently greets all our patients with the same courteous and friendly demeanor. She is also one of the few employees in our office that speaks fluent Spanish. Silvia helps out with all of our OSHA responsibilities and makes sure each new employee is properly trained. Silvia volunteered as an EMT for over 25 years and is currently working with Habitat for Humanity in San Patricio County as well as a hospice volunteer for Christus Spohn during her spare time.

Pat joined our staff in February of 1988. She received her hygiene training at Del Mar College and graduated in 1985. Pat is happy to be a part of the Apple team and can honestly say that she loves her fellow employees and feels like we are all a family here. Pat enjoys the interaction with all her patients and has many 'regulars' that see her every time they come.

Leolani graduated with her Associates in Dental Hygiene from DelMar College. She is currently enrolled at TAMUCC to obtain her Bachelor's Degree. Her goal in life is to be successful in every aspect of her life from raising her 3 daughters to her career. Leolani, (pronounced LeoLonny) is from Hawaii and loves her job because of the interaction with her patients and the other employees she works with! She truly loves helping her patient's! In her free time, Leolani enjoys watching movies and spending time with her girls doing arts and craft projects.

Connie was hired to work for Dr. Barwise in September 1997, shortly after graduating from Del Mar College. Connie is enthusiastic and friendly which brings Dr. Barwise 's patients much comfort. They love her professional yet personal demeanor. Connie is the first one to help her fellow employees out and walks through the office every day with a 'good morning' greeting for all. We are fortunate to have Connie as a member of our dental family for the past 17 years.

Theresa has been in the dental field since 2007, when she graduated from Kaplan College. She worked for Apple Dental Center right after she graduated from Kaplan and has recently returned to work for us again. Theresa graduated from Robstown High School and decided to attend Kaplan College as a dental assistant because she wanted a career that would allow her to work with people. Dr. Barwise's patients compliment Theresa most about her concern for their wellbeing and her contagious laugh. She gets along well with her fellow employees and is always wanting to lend a hand. Theresa originally thought she would like a career in cosmetology and received her license after taking high school courses. She also enjoys karaoke and spending time with her family and friends. We are fortunate that her paths led her back to her Apple family!

Ofelia has been a Dental Assistant here since 2017. She took her basics at A & M Corpus Christi and graduated from Brightwood College in 2017. Ofelia did her internship with us and we were impressed with her abilities and hired her upon her graduation. She is quiet and soft-spoken but well qualified and very smart. Ofelia is also bilingual and enjoys music. She is a Miller High School graduate and wants to eventually attend graduate school and become a dentist. Her fellow employees enjoy her dry humor and our patients love how knowledgeable she is. She is an asset to our staff.

From our front desk staff to our dental hygienists, our team is friendly and professional. The Apple Dental Center staff is a step above the rest when it comes to addressing the dental needs of those in Corpus Christi, TX. We are committed to providing our patients with personalized, unparalleled dental care. With many of our staff members have been at Apple Dental Center for over a quarter-century, we have become much more than a dentist office. We are a dental family.
