Kirk K. Cohil, D.D.S., received a B.S. degree with honors, from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. He graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1999, as the youngest in his class. Immediately after dental school, Dr. Cohil completed a Graduate Residency Program through the University of Florida at Shands Hospital, in Jacksonville, FL.
The residency jump-started his proficiency in oral surgery, dental implants, root canal therapy, complex restorative dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. He continues to take hundreds of hours in continuing education, to provide the most modern techniques and service that dentistry has to offer.
Dr. Cohil uses his vast experience and expansive knowledge to create healthy, functional, and natural-looking smiles. Since 2011, his peers voted him, in Orlando Magazine, as one of the top dentists in Orlando. His colleagues also voted him among the Best Dentists in Apopka, when voting first began in 2010. Today, he continues to deliver unsurpassed general, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry that includes dental implants.
Dr. Cohil has provided countless volunteer hours over the years, helping those in need, in various regions of Florida. He has been involved with everything from Christinas Smile, Childrens Dental Clinic, in cooperation with the Senior PGA Tour, to spending time at the Vo Tech Research Clinic in Orange County and Give Kids A Smile, volunteer programs. He annually sponsors and visits several elementary schools in the local area, to educate children on dental care and oral health.
Kirk Cohil, D.D.S., is a member of the ADA, FDA, CFFDA, DSGO and several local study clubs. He has been a member of the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Seattle Study Club, and attends several premier dental CE programs such as Spear Education and the Dawson Academy.
Dr. Cohil enjoys playing softball, racquetball, and golf. He is a big fan of the Tampa Bay Rays and Indianapolis Colts, enjoys traveling and coaching. He is partial to spending time with his wonderful family, which includes his wife, daughter and son.
Kathie has worked the front desk for Dr. Cohil for over 15 years. She enjoys interacting with the patients and is here to help with scheduling and all your insurance questions. Kathie is here to make your dental needs obtainable and affordable through various types of financial arrangements. She is originally from Indiana, married with two boys. Her hobbies include gardening, crafts and playing with her grandchildren.
Pilar is originally from Cuba, was raised in Chicago, and moved to Florida in 1979. She attended Triton College in Illinois for Management Practice in Dental Healthcare and she is a Registered Dental Assistant. She also earned her Expanded Duties certificate from Orlando Vo-Tech. Like most of her family, she has worked in dentistry most of her life. During her leisure time, she loves spending time with her husband of 50 years along with her two daughters and two grandsons. She also enjoys dining out, sporting events, concerts, and a little salsa dancing!
Sharon has over 20 years of dental hygiene experience. She is originally from Indiana and a graduate of Indiana University. She has found it extremely rewarding to be part of a team that makes a conscious effort of promoting and maintaining good oral health. She takes great pride in ensuring your teeth are properly and thoroughly cleaned. Sharon attends church in Apopka, has two sons, and enjoys playing tennis in her free time.
Winnie is a native Floridian who grew up in Apopka. She received her B.S. in Dental Hygiene from Valencia Community College and has over thirty years of experience. Winnie enjoys being able to educate patients and loves when they realize the importance of oral health. She is married with two daughters and two grandsons. Winnie enjoys taking RV trips, reading and spending time with her family; particularly her two grandsons.
Tara is a native Floridian who relocated from Palm Beach to Apopka in 1973. She graduated from Orlando Vo-Tech Dental Assisting Program in 1985, receiving her Expanded Duties certificate. Tara enjoys helping give patients beautiful smiles and overcoming their fears of visiting the dentist. Tara married her husband in 1986 and they have two boys, Tucker and Garrett. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, biking and RV trips.
She is originally from Pennsylvania and graduated from Great Lakes Institute of Technology. She believes that a healthy, bright, beautiful smile sparks confidence and loves seeing patients happy with the care and results that we provide. Lindsay enjoys providing exceptional patient care, getting to know our patients and helping them feel calm and comfortable in our office. She loves spending time with her husband and watching their son play soccer. Also, she enjoys taking their dog, James Bond, on long walks, soaking up the sun at the pool and watching Orlando City games.
Carolyn has been a dental assistant for over 5 years and has also received her expanded functions certificate, giving her an even larger knowledge base. She enjoys all aspects of dental care and gets gratification when patients leave happy with a brand new smile or just out of pain. She enjoys our local theme parks and spending time with her three boys. She is easy to talk to and looks forward to getting to know each one of her patients.
