After spending years working in a business oriented setting, I decided I needed a career that was more fulfilling. So with that said, I attended DATS of Maryland where I received my dental assisting certification. After experiencing Orthodontics during my externship, I knew I had found my passion and continued my education to become a certified Orthodontic assistant. After four years as an assistant, I recently moved over to the administration side of things as a financial coordinator. I love seeing the transformation of our patients from start to finish. The first smile after treatment is just so special. Being a member of a team that is passionate and loves what they do is why I love working at ALO.
I joined Apicella-Lorei Orthodontics knowing my love for helping others and my desire to go above and beyond would align perfectly with their team. I am highly motivated to constantly develop my skills and grow professionally. Im known as the tech girl for my friends and family, so I am not afraid to take on a challenge. I am ecstatic about my journey with the ALO Team! When Im not focused on work, I love to enjoy a nice cup of coffee!
I have been an ALO team member since 1972, working as a certified orthodontic assistant. I now work part-time in the ALO Business Office, but still maintain my orthodontic assisting certification. I feel that I chose this profession because my father had the most beautiful teeth and I believe I got my smile and teeth from him. However, due to medications related to epilepsy he lost his teeth. In a way, I believe I am preserving or honoring him by seeing the many beautiful smiles that have been created throughout my long career. It is also very rewarding to meet all of our wonderful patients and families, and being able to see the changes in their smiles that our practice provides. While I enjoy spending quality time with my family, I enjoy being here so much and love being with my work family.
Before becoming a dental assistant, I enjoyed volunteering at my local church and schools. It was something I could do with my family and family is very important to me. My family and I are Disney fanatics and we love traveling to Disney World and other places throughout the country.
I graduated from HACC with a certificate in dental assisting. I have always had an interest in Dentistry but was not heading towards Orthodontics until I completed an externship at ALO. Seeing patients complete their treatment and gaining confidence from their new smiles is so rewarding. It is also rewarding to know I am now part of an amazing team that impacts peoples lives.

Apicella-Lorei Orthodontics has been terrific with both of our boys. Our older son (age 9) has been in an expander for awhile now because they are slowly increasing the size of his mouth. Every time we go, the office staff is wonderful! The are all super nice and very knowledgeable, which makes him feel good and not anxious at all. Dr. Lorei has been incredible through this entire experience this far. Our younger son (age 7) has also started going there and right now he is just a watch and wait while some more of his baby teeth come out. Apicella-Lorei Orthodontics is very great and we cannot say enough positive things about them. On a side note, we LOVE how the office is decorated. It definitely has a calming beachy vibe to it!

Dr. Lorei is incredibly charismatic and professionally knowledgeable. The staff is top notch and super efficient. They are fun and make every visit comfortable. I am a young adult with a challenging orthodontic case and Dr. Lorei has been nothing but the best getting me through the steps with Invisalign, recommending an outstanding oral surgeon (Hartman Oral Surgeon), and also referring me to his lovely wife's dental practice for my primary dental needs (Millennium Way Dental Studio). This has been the best experience and I would recommend 10/10. They also have a neat points program that I am sure is fun for kids, but I like it too! :)

Absolutely loved the girls who did my scans and consultation. Super friendly and made me feel really comfortable. Dr. Lorei was also very friendly and explained everything in great detail. My only issue is the price of the down payment, if my insurance won't cover the braces. Yikes! If my insurance doesn't cover I'm out of luck. I don't know about you but I don't have $ 750 just laying in wait. Otherwise, I highly recommend this office!

The whole staff is so kind and friendly. The office has a very positive vibe. We had two appointments for both girls, one for paperwork to start a new phase and a separate appointment to get fitted and started with Invisalign. They were very informative and helpful in explaining and teaching how to correctly use the trays. They make you feel confident in using all the necessary equipment. My daughters both enjoy the orthodontist visits!

I was running way late for my Son's initial consultation, but the staff assured me to come as soon as I could get there, and I couldn't be happier with the treatment he received and the thoroughness with which they explained everything. A price, and several payment options, were provided at our very first visit which was a welcome change from the first practice we visited because it took three visits, and $300, before we were given the financials there. Dr. Lorei was amazing, as was the treatment coordinator, as they both made us feel comfortable, and confident, in their knowledge of the best way forward given his particular issues. Thank you!

Unbelievable experience. I was extremely impressed with the extensive testing done for a free consultation visit. Every staff member was very courteous and the Doctor was very kind, explained everything and very very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this Orthodontist and staff to everyone.

Very professional staff! Very helpful. My son is getting braces for the first time and we have all those annoying questions, but they took time to answer all of our concerns. Dr Lorei also made or very nervous 11 year old very comfortable. And the hours are very helpful so that we're not missing much school. Highly recommend!
