After spending years working in a business oriented setting, I decided I needed a career that was more fulfilling. So with that said, I attended DATS of Maryland where I received my dental assisting certification. After experiencing Orthodontics during my externship, I knew I had found my passion and continued my education to become a certified Orthodontic assistant. After four years as an assistant, I recently moved over to the administration side of things as a financial coordinator. I love seeing the transformation of our patients from start to finish. The first smile after treatment is just so special. Being a member of a team that is passionate and loves what they do is why I love working at ALO.
I joined Apicella-Lorei Orthodontics knowing my love for helping others and my desire to go above and beyond would align perfectly with their team. I am highly motivated to constantly develop my skills and grow professionally. Im known as the tech girl for my friends and family, so I am not afraid to take on a challenge. I am ecstatic about my journey with the ALO Team! When Im not focused on work, I love to enjoy a nice cup of coffee!
I have been an ALO team member since 1972, working as a certified orthodontic assistant. I now work part-time in the ALO Business Office, but still maintain my orthodontic assisting certification. I feel that I chose this profession because my father had the most beautiful teeth and I believe I got my smile and teeth from him. However, due to medications related to epilepsy he lost his teeth. In a way, I believe I am preserving or honoring him by seeing the many beautiful smiles that have been created throughout my long career. It is also very rewarding to meet all of our wonderful patients and families, and being able to see the changes in their smiles that our practice provides. While I enjoy spending quality time with my family, I enjoy being here so much and love being with my work family.
Before becoming a dental assistant, I enjoyed volunteering at my local church and schools. It was something I could do with my family and family is very important to me. My family and I are Disney fanatics and we love traveling to Disney World and other places throughout the country.
I graduated from HACC with a certificate in dental assisting. I have always had an interest in Dentistry but was not heading towards Orthodontics until I completed an externship at ALO. Seeing patients complete their treatment and gaining confidence from their new smiles is so rewarding. It is also rewarding to know I am now part of an amazing team that impacts peoples lives.

After 6 years of dental work here at Apicella, I am finally done and I'm so happy with my results. I was always excited to go and the staff was always so helpful and kind. Love everything you've done to give me a beautiful smile. Thanks guys!

We really love ALO! We've been patients for 4 years now and have always left pleased with the office. Everyone is kind and mostly on time. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming as well.

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and always answered my questions in detail. Emergency appointments were easy to schedule. I am very pleased with the outcome of my treatment and I love the Invisalign retainers.

I was called back before I completed my paperwork! I needed a second opinion, as I felt pressured from the first place into a direction I was not comfortable with. Apicella-Lorei took lots of time to assess my situation. They gave me options I was comfortable with and that would resolve my issues. I will be going back.

The staff was nice and made my son feel comfortable. We were on time for the appointment and we weren't kept waiting. Everyone was respectful and friendly. They explained everything in a way that both me and my teenager could understand. Would recommend them to anyone.

My daughter loves coming here for her Ortho appointments. The staff is always friendly and make her feel welcomed! She loves that the staff gets excited about how her teeth are moving! Great place! Highly recommend!

I have been going to here for a few years now and I love it I would recommend this place to anyone of all ages who need orthodontic care they creat a treatment plan made just for you based off what you needs are and they truly want only the best for you the staff is excellent they are extremely kind and you could have conversations with them your whole appt if you wan they truly have your best interest at heart during your whole time with them.

I was very happy & satisfied w/ my visit. I was dealing w/ several different issues all @ one time & wasn't quite sure which way to go next. Both Amanda & Dr. Lorei were both very helpful in helping me to decide what my next move should be. They were also very knowledgeable about the different options I had & which steps to take. This Ortho Practice is incredible. We had a couple consults before starting work. One was very professional but felt like a cosmetic surgeon catering more to the adults. Here was both beautiful and professional, but the Orthodontist and entire team are amazing with the kids. We actually look forward to these visits... which is something to say when the work they need to do isn't the most comfortable for the kids mouths or for the adults pockets. They work with you on payments and are up front, transparent, and have options to fit budgets. We will only recommend them to anyone in need of Ortho work. So grateful to have found them!
