Endodontics is the dental specialty that deals with the dental pulp inside of a tooth. Within the dental pulp are the tooth nerves. When a tooth is compromised, the inside can be susceptible to decay. An endodontist treats the inside of the tooth in order to save the tooth structure.
Our primary goal is to save your natural teeth whenever possible. Root canal, or endodontic, treatment may be necessary when the pulp tissue inside the root canals of a tooth becomes infected or damaged, which can be caused by dental trauma or decay. The pulp, which is located inside the root canals, contains blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissue. A tooth generally has between one and four root canals. A root canal procedure may be performed on a single root canal or multiple root canals within a tooth.
Dr. Barsemian, founder of Apex Endodontics, attended the University of Montreal for his dental degree where he was on the deans list every semester. He was awarded the American Association of Endodontists annual student award. He obtained his Endodontic training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He was listed in Americas Top Dentist by the Consumer Research Council of America: 2003 through 2017. He was also voted as one of New Jerseys Top Dentists for sevenconsecutive years (2009-2017) by his peers ina survey conducted byNew Jersey Monthly magazine. Dr. Barsemian has been providing endodontic care since 2001. He was formerly a partner in a multi-office practice located in South Jersey.
He has been trained in the latest technology such as the use of rotary instrumentation with obturation using the system B and the obtura. He also uses the surgical operating microscope routinely for endodontic treatment as well as microsurgery. He believes most root canals can be completed in one visit. He has lectured on both endodontic treatment and microsurgery and was also a part time instructor at the University of Pennsylvania in the Department of Endodontics. Presently, Dr. Barsemian is on the teaching staff of Morristown Medical Centers Dental clinic.
Dr. Barsemian is a member of the American Dental Association, the New Jersey dental Association, the Union County Dental Society, the Central Jersey Dental society, the American Association of Endodontists, and the Tri County Dental Society where he served as president 2010-11. He is the Director of ApexSeminars, a study club for dentists and dental specialists.Dr. Barsemian strives to provide the highest endodontic care possible in a friendly and comforting environment.

I will start by saying I am not a fan of any dentists!! Well today Dr. Rastogi, Elisha, and Cornelia changed my perspective. Not only they were professional, caring, they were empathetic to my fears and made sure I was ok throughout the root canal procedure. I think they deserve all the stars five is not enough. Job well done, being a healthcare worker myself, it is very hard to find staff that maintain this level of service and professionalism. I completely recommend this team to take care of your dentistry needs. Thank you Doctor Rastogi for your care and a huge thank you to your team as well.

What can I say?......Nobody in their right mind wants to get a root canal. That being said the number one priority is competence, I don't care if I like the doctor or the office. I received competence from Dr Barsemian, he was clear and concise and was clearly competent in the procedure. The added bonus he is a good guy with a sense of humor. The office is equally as competent and pleasant and you can tell they enjoy their work, this is always a good sign since it shows that he is an honest ethical employer. Nobody wants to get a root canal, but heck I would not mind if I had to go to APEX, I might even look forward to it (a little bit).

This review is long overdue. It takes ALOT to compel me to write any review. It's either got to be a horrifically bad experience or a near epically amazing experience. As it relates to "Dr B" and Apex Endodontics its the latter. I had the great "luck" of having not 1, but 2 root canals back to back out of nowhere! My dentist referred me to Dr B and the first time he took me same day on a Friday no less. I was in quite a bit of pain to the point where i may have paid any amount of money to help alleviate my distress! Dr B seamlessly performed the root canal and after taking some Motrin that evening, i was on my way to a pain free recovery. The 2nd time was a few weeks later. Same deal - Dr B took me on short notice. This one was even faster and easier. No pain whatsoever. Not even a Motrin needed after the fact. This man is gifted. My dentist was astonished at how small the hole was that Dr B made for the root canal. Dr B is kind and has a great disposition. He is calm, positive and confident. I am absolutely grateful to him, his front desk administrator Jean, and his incredible support staff. The entire experience front to back truly merits a 5 star rating. There is no reason to seek out any other endodontist. You would be foolish to do so. If you want the best, there's only one choice: Apex! Thank you for doing all that you do Dr. B! I'm grateful to you sir!

At the risk of sounding ridiculous, I found my root canal procedure to be -- um -- pleasant! The waiting room is clean and relaxing, soft music was playing, the place speaks of calmness and professionalism. Dr. Barsemian assured me the procedure would be pain free, and he was right. Would it be too much to say that this was practically a day-spa experience? Dr. B was not only personable, but he was efficient and professional, carefully explaining each process as he went along. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this doctor, his staff, the office and my treatment there!

My 12 year old daughter was in horrible pain. The doctor and his team not only fit us on the schedule in hours of our call, but stayed late to perform a root canal. Hers the thing we're not even patients at this practice! Talk about a team who has a human compass!

In response to your DEFENCE of your office, there is NO world where there is a 2-3 hour "WINDOW" There was NO talk of traffic, & NO ONE was there at 1:58...Why not apologize for the person who made my initial appointment???? Much better customer service...I will be sure to spread the word.....

Friendly, great demeanor and instantly put me at ease. I went to see Dr. Barsemian for a consult regarding my tooth and feasibility of a root canal. The dentist I originally went to wanted to add on all these additional appointments that I felt were unnecessary. I was already anxious and he put me at ease. I felt minimal pain during my root canal and he reassured me through the whole time. I would highly recommend Dr. Barsemian and his staff.
