Endodontics is the dental specialty that deals with the dental pulp inside of a tooth. Within the dental pulp are the tooth nerves. When a tooth is compromised, the inside can be susceptible to decay. An endodontist treats the inside of the tooth in order to save the tooth structure.
Our primary goal is to save your natural teeth whenever possible. Root canal, or endodontic, treatment may be necessary when the pulp tissue inside the root canals of a tooth becomes infected or damaged, which can be caused by dental trauma or decay. The pulp, which is located inside the root canals, contains blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissue. A tooth generally has between one and four root canals. A root canal procedure may be performed on a single root canal or multiple root canals within a tooth.
Dr. Barsemian, founder of Apex Endodontics, attended the University of Montreal for his dental degree where he was on the deans list every semester. He was awarded the American Association of Endodontists annual student award. He obtained his Endodontic training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He was listed in Americas Top Dentist by the Consumer Research Council of America: 2003 through 2017. He was also voted as one of New Jerseys Top Dentists for sevenconsecutive years (2009-2017) by his peers ina survey conducted byNew Jersey Monthly magazine. Dr. Barsemian has been providing endodontic care since 2001. He was formerly a partner in a multi-office practice located in South Jersey.
He has been trained in the latest technology such as the use of rotary instrumentation with obturation using the system B and the obtura. He also uses the surgical operating microscope routinely for endodontic treatment as well as microsurgery. He believes most root canals can be completed in one visit. He has lectured on both endodontic treatment and microsurgery and was also a part time instructor at the University of Pennsylvania in the Department of Endodontics. Presently, Dr. Barsemian is on the teaching staff of Morristown Medical Centers Dental clinic.
Dr. Barsemian is a member of the American Dental Association, the New Jersey dental Association, the Union County Dental Society, the Central Jersey Dental society, the American Association of Endodontists, and the Tri County Dental Society where he served as president 2010-11. He is the Director of ApexSeminars, a study club for dentists and dental specialists.Dr. Barsemian strives to provide the highest endodontic care possible in a friendly and comforting environment.

My entire experience--from initial telephone outreach with Cornelia to completion of my root canal--was absolutely positive, and, dare I say, pleasant? Dr. Barsemian and entire staff were engaging and professional and they treated me with kindness and respect. I was quite surprised at the lack of pain both during and afterwards considering the nature of what was done, too! Thank you to everyone at Apex Endodontics!!!

I was in need of a root canal and had checked out some endodontists referred to me by my dentist. After doing further research on additional endodontists in the area , I decided on Dr. Barsemian. His background was impressive and after meeting him in person, it sealed the deal for me. He was very knowledgeable and confident as well as reassuring. I had concerns about the procedure but after the consultation and first appointment to begin the process I knew I had made the right decision. I barely experienced any discomfort and he explained what he was going to do. Cornelia , the practice manager, is super positive, attentive and efficient . The entire practice has a feel of great energy which makes one feel more relaxed . I will be recommending him to my dentist and to anyone in need of a root canal !

Definitely felt like I was in good hands here. The doctor was very thorough, talked me through everything that was happening, and even called me in a prescription on a Sunday. I would highly recommend this practice.

Wonderful doctor, staff and experience. Couldn't recommend more highly! Hopefully from now on my teeth will cooperate but if they don't and another root canal is needed, Apex is my go-to.

He is amazing! Quick, painless and super new and clean office in Morristown. He uses the smallest hole in your tooth to access root during a root canal. My dentist is always amazed at his work.

Dr Barsemian is an excellent endodontist. I've had a root canal procedure before...(unfortunately, not by Dr Barsemian) The experience that I had today was by far the best experience ever! Dr Barsemian explained everything that he was going to do...so I would be aware of what to expect...Dr Barsemian reassured me that the block would be 100% and he was correct...I was completely "numb" and didn't feel a thing! I must also mention how friendly and helpful his staff was...I highly recommend Dr Barsemian!

Dr. Nacron and her staff were simply outstanding. A root canal procedure is long and uncomfortable. Dr. Nacron made every effort (successfully) to explain the procedure, expectations, and spoke to me to insure I was Ok. She offered breaks if I needed them and overall was gentle and caring. Likewise the dental hygienist was right there to help the doctor. She was great! Overall, Dr Nacron and the entire staff made my visits as comfortable as possible. I highly recommend her services if you require an endodontic procedure.

Everything I read about this practice is true; the people there are great! I was greeted by Jean, who is so friendly and welcoming. Cindy ably assisted Dr. Barsemian; they were both very professional and friendly as well. I was nervous because I needed a root canal under a bridge on one of my front teeth. Well, no need for worry - I was in and out of there in less than an hour, and best of all, had no pain whatsoever. It's been a few days now, and I feel great. I will be going back for one more visit, but I feel so relaxed about it now. I had heard great things about this practice, and I am happy to say they are all true!

Apex and Dr Barsemium were absolute professionals. While in for a root canal Dr Barsemium recognized that my molar have been cracked and through a non invasive extra confirmed the crack and recommended an oral surgeon. No exploratory drilling or poking around a painful area. I can't thank Apex enough for the quality care.
