Dr. English is an Alabama native. He grew up around the Birmingham area and attended Mississippi State University for his Bachelor of Science degree. Dr. English completed his dental education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1996.
In October 1996, following graduation, Dr. English opened his private practice in Pelham, AL. He sold his practice in 2010 & moved to North Alabama to be closer to his family. For the last 4 years, Dr. English has worked for several group practices and expanded his expertise into many different fields of dentistry. Apex Dental is the culmination of his vision for the future of dentistry with new & innovative ways of providing dental care.
Outside the office, Dr. English enjoys spending time with his wife and young son, playing guitar, & adding to his extensive vinyl record collection. Dentistry is his passion but music is a close second.
Dr. Ethan Dutton Dr. Ethan Dutton was born and raised in Lancaster, South Carolina. Dr. Dutton earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina, and then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina. While studying at MUSC Dr. Dutton was published for his research studying three-dimensional scanning technologies in dentistry. He is an active member of The American Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry, and The Alabama Dental Association
As a part of his firm commitment to dental innovation. Dr. Dutton keeps abreast of the newest developments in his field. He currently offers TRIOS award winning intraoral scanning technology, digital cosmetic imaging, and a variety of other advanced technologies.
Olivia Olivia is our Lead Dental Assistant and newly graduated Hygienist. Her pleasant and calming demeanor puts her patients right at ease. She loves traveling and going to concerts with her friends. She also loves spending time with her family, dalmatian Riley, attending church and babysitting
Cora Cora is a Certified Dental Assistant. She graduated from the Calhoun Community College dental assisting program. She enjoys helping her patients gain confidence with their smile. She is newly married and her and her new husband love riding motorcycles and exploring new places
Michelle Michelle is our Lead Dental Hygienist. While she is new to our Apex Dental team, she has over 10 years of hygiene experience. She grew up in Michigan but relocated here 13 years ago with her husband. Her free time is spent juggling extracurricular activities with her three daughters and traveling whenever they can

I needed an emergency extraction and Missy and Dr. E got me in at the very last minute. The whole office was incredibly kind and went out of their way to accommodate me. I can't thank them enough for the care I received today! Highly recommend.

Today, I had my routine teeth cleaning but my visit was more than routine. My last teeth cleaning wasn't performed by my regular dental hygienist and when I asked to have stains removed from my teeth at that visit, I left with stained teeth. That was NOT my experience today. Today, I saw Michelle and my stains were removed! Michelle also gave me advice on something I use to season my food with that could be the reason for me having recently having staining issues with my teeth. THANK YOU Michelle, for sharing and for being the perfectionist you are, because my stains are history. Thanks for other practical information you shared with me today to help me keep my teeth healthy! Dr. English, thanks for educating me on the importance of having panoramic x-rays every three years. I learned a lot from this visit today. An ounce of prevention is truly worth more than a pound of cure. Thanks for providing excellent care and patient education today!

After my first visit with Dr. English I now have a very positive outlook on my dental care. His bedside manner cannot be beat. The hygienist was knowledgeable and kind. She kept me updated on everything that was about to happen. From the moment I walked in, the experience was positive.

I needed an emergency appointment a few years ago and Apex got me in right away when my current dentist could not. I definitely switched to Apex after that experience. My daughter needed an appointment yesterday and Apex got her in the next day at the new location. Highly recommend both Dr. English and Dr. Dutton!

So I have Been looking for a new dentist with my insurance and I really Lucked up with this one! The staff was super friendly. They educated me on things going on with my teeth and also gave me a corrective cleaning. I got More done in a hour than other dentist have done in 2 years!

Dr English and the entire Apex staff were kind, personal, welcoming and professional. My hygienist was respectful of me expressing my very sensitive mouth, after the cleaning Dr English sat with me to determine not only what I needed but also what I felt like I needed. I felt like a real person not a number THANK YOU Apex for showing there are still Dentist and staff that truly care about their patients.

I went to apex dental as an emergency abcessed tooth. I loved the calm professional atmosphere. They put my priorities first. So accommodating!! Definitely a place to return to.

Exceptional experience I had a dental emergency and . Very informed and informative staff. Folks treat ya like friends rather than numbers. I have never had a better dental visit in my entire life. Dr. Dutton is excellent. Super friendly and he explained everything in detail. My partner and I will definitely be moving to Apex with the kids.

I went to Apex Dental as a new patient. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I was very happy to complete the New Patient Form on line. It was easy and efficient to do this on my own time instead of at the office. My dental hygienist was Michelle and she did a great job! She was thorough, efficient and painless cleaning my teeth. My teeth were cleaned and polished in about an hour. I highly recommend Apex Dental. I will definitely be back for all of my dental needs.

This has been one of the best dental experiences I've ever had, and I'm saying this after TWO fillings! Receptionist=fantastic. Hygienists=so sweet. Dr. Dutton= wonderful. I am a very nervous patient for dentists and I honestly can't speak highly enough for them. And they're extremely open about their costs, which, by the way, are so reasonable. It was my first dentist appointment in 8 years and I'm so glad I chose Apex!

I have severe dental anxiety. Dr Dutton and his staff have made me so comfortable having anything done inside my mouth. The care, professionalism, candor, and tenderness is exactly what I needed for reentry to my dental care. They also made my kids super comfortable as well.
