Digital X-rays offer a huge advantage in early detection and preventive services. Advanced image manipulation and analysis, for example, allows your doctor to detect early stages of gum disease through recognition of bone level changes, or by evaluating the results against a previous treatment.

An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.

Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

Am so grateful for the care I received from Dr. Mona and Jennifer. I was treated with compassion and professionalism during a recent visit. If you are looking for a forever dentist, I highly recommend Apache Family Dentistry. Diane G.

Have had nothing but problems with the fillings they insisted I needed to prevent possible cavities in the future. All of them keep falling out.

The whole office is competent and thorough but construction workers. They are very tough in their work.

So happy to find them!! Best dentist office I have experienced in my life, both back in NYC and here in AZ! I was lucky to find them through my insurance plan Delta Dental. The entire staff was so pleasant and professional. Dr. Yamamoto was great at explaining what they would do, I had a regular checkup and x-rays done then would have to come back the next day for a little deeper cleaning, called a debridement. They were great at handling everything during this process. The hygienist who did my procedure, Margie made sure I was comfortable and was gentle during the whole process but she did an amazing job, what a difference it made. I am so thankful to have gone to them and I know with them it will be easy to stay on top of my dental health. Thank you for everything Apache Family Dental! See you in 6 months!

In Sept 2019 I had a crown put on a tooth that I was told had 2 small fractures. The tooth was not giving me any pain or causing any problems but to be preventative I was told to have a crown put on. I have never had a toothache in my life and I'm over 60. After the crown was put on I had so much pain and sensitivity around that same tooth that I had to go back a week later and Dr. Yamamota replaced the crown. I was in excruciating pain the next day, took pain killers and phone the dentist. She said to wait and it should go away. The major pain went away in a few days but I had a constant toothache and so much sensitivity that I couldn't chew on that side of my mouth. I phoned Dr. Yamamota a couple of times and her advice was "wait a few months, it should go away". Seriously?!? She told me her mother had had the same problem and it took about 3 months for the pain to go away. Sheesh. She said she didn't know why I was in pain as the xray showed the tooth wasn't cracked, I should wait a few more months and if it isn't better she would do a root canal that she would charge me $800+ for and she wasn't even sure that would take the pain away. 6 months (March 2020) later I can only chew soft food on that tooth and the root is so exposed that I get a jolt every time I drink anything, extremely sensitive. I'm going to a better dentist to get it fixed as I wouldn't pay her another penny. She caused me 6 months of pain and has never explained why or apologized. Worst dental experience of my life. And her clinic is not very clean, layers of dust on the blinds and window sills.

My husband sat in there for over a hour and a half in so much pain only to have 4 people ask does your tooth hurt bad.5 people who came in after us that were walk-ins were helped before they did anything. He was in so much pain and all they did was take x-rays. I'm in the waiting room and hear the dentist just ask over and over again to the receptionist about his insurance instead of help him and when she heard it covered it she says the only thing they could do probably wouldn't work. The receptionists were incredibly unprofessional they just were gossiping and laughing not answering the phones. Completely horrible experience.

This place is terrible. The dentist is rude. Coming out in a dress and running shoes. I got my xrays fast. Then she came over and shot me up with lidocaine very ruffly and also didnt wear gloves. Didnt talk to me . thankfully there was a very nice nurse there who held my hand threw it all. They proceeded to try to wiggle the tooth. I could still feel so much. I was in so much pain. The nurse told the dentist to give me more. The dentist really just didnt care. She wanted to pull it and go. Unfortunately my tooth kept breaking and i have bad anxiety so to calm myself down i asked if i was out a few times and she was just so rude to me. Very very ruff. But like i said the nurse there. The tall blond one. She was amazing. If it wasnt for her i wouldnt have stayed. Thank u so much nurse lady. Don't go here unless u wanna be mistreated and no cared about. But i will give it. It was a pretty fast process.

I took my elderly mom there to have her dentures taken care of as they were rubbing on her gums. The dentures were done at another office years ago and this one was recommended by her insurance. Dr. Tracey was very nice and her assistant Aubry was wonderful!! She was so patient with mom and compassionate. She filed down the areas that were rubbing on moms gums, checking each time to make sure they were comfortable at last. She will be back!

NEW PATIENT LOOKING FOR A DENTIST? AVOID THIS OFFICE LIKE THE PLAGUE! Extremely unprofessional operation; avoid them at all costs. Obviously they have more patients than they need so are not putting forth any effort at all to encourage new ones. I came in as a brand-new patient with my own insurance. I have never been so mistreated by a "service" organization in my whole life. I am 68 and confined to a mobility chair, in constant back pain. The first obstacle I faced was the counter was so high I could barely see over it. Even in a chair, I'm still pretty tall. There were 4 persons behind the counter doing nothing and made no attempt to help me reach things. Two of the four were having a neck-rubbing session; very unprofessional. The real kicker was that I was 5 or 10 minutes early for my 1:30 appointment on 2-7-18 and was the first one into the office. I filled out my paperwork and sat waiting patiently to be called back. In the meantime, at least 3 other people showed up for their appointments, one of which was a new patient, like me. When I was finally called back, I, again, was the only person in the waiting room; everyone else was called in before me. Again, I was subjected to more waiting. They finally took x-rays, but the tech's attention was so centered on what was going on at the front desk that I finally offered to have her take care of the situation, then come back to me so she could pay attention to what she was doing. X-rays done, still more waiting. I finally called out to see what was taking so long, I was told that as soon as the dentist finished with her current patient, she would come talk to me. The kicker was that the patient she was working on was the other new patient who came in 15 minutes after me! I waited a little while longer, got disgusted and walked (rolled) out. I had been there over an hour and only had a set of x-rays to show for it. I figured if this was the kind of treatment I was going to get as a new patient, how bad were things going to get when I became an established one? Needless to say, they didn't care as they made no attempt to contact me to find out why I left before getting treatment, particularly since I told them I had a tooth that needed pulled or needed surgery as it was very painful. Again, are you a NEW patient looking for a NEW dentist? Avoid the hassle and avoid this operation at all costs!

I have been a patient at AFD for the past year. For a period of time I had had a lapse of Dental insurance. I took advantage of their in house plan, low up front fee that enabled my family to take advantage of discounted service. I have had a positive experience. Dr T is professional, explains options thoroughly.
