In the United States, less than 2% of dentists are prosthodontists. Becoming a prosthodontist requires 3 years of additional extensive training with patients requiring a few or all teeth to be restored or replaced. Dr. Abraham was one of only two general dentists admitted to the prestigious Stony Brook Prosthodontics Residency Program where she studied the full spectrum of patient restoration including extreme or full-mouth make-overs. She is board eligible and received her DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Abraham can give you fixed teeth that replace your damaged or missing teeth or your denture for a lifetime. She takes her time ensuring that patients understand their options and the process to achieve their natural-looking, beautiful smiles.
After Dr. Abraham graduated from high school in Saalfeld, Germany she came to NY and worked to hone her language skills. She completed her B.A. degree with summa cum laude and honors in Economics from Stony Brook University. She went on to complete her dental education at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine and graduated with the degree Doctor of Dental Surgery, she completed a one-year general practice residency at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine prior to her speciality training in Prosthodontics.
Dr. Abraham is a member of the American College of Prosthodontics, the American Dental Association and the Suffolk County Dental Society. She has been admitted to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and the Golden Key Honor Society. In addition, Dr. Abraham has given lectures on the rehabilitation of oral cancer and genetic disorders, prosthodontics of large defects and presented her research findings on CAD/CAM designed restorations. Furthermore, she has completed several training seminars including digital implant planning and digital crown fabrication. During her studies she successfully completed the written part of her American Boards of Prosthodontics.
