Dr. Cardoza is a 1985 graduate of Northwestern University Dental School and maintains a general dental practice in Santee (San Diego County) California. Dr. Cardoza is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the San Diego County Dental Association. Dr. Cardoza is a Fellow in the World Class Laser Institute and a Member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry.
As a general dentist, Dr. Cardoza treats patients of all ages specific to their individual needs and concerns. Dr. Cardoza is comfortable performing many of the dental procedures that are often referred to specialists including endodontics (root canals), extractions, and periodontal (gum) treatments.
In addition, Dr. Cardoza is a forensic dental consultant for the County of San Diego Office of the Medical Examiner, County of Imperial Office of the Coroner, State of California Department of Justice, The California Emergency Management Agency (CalEMA) and is the Director of the California Dental Identification Team (CalDIT).
Dr. Cardoza maintains a busy forensic caseload due to the San Diego and Imperial Counties proximity to the Mexican border. He has performed numerous postmortem dental examinations, comparisons and identifications and most recently was involved with the identifications of victims of the Southern California wildfire disasters.
Kimm graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at Cerritos College in 1996 with an Associate of Art degree. She then became laser certified with standard proficiency in 2005 and has continued with advanced laser training. She strives to keep apprised of the most current techniques and modalities for providing optimal oral health care. Kimm will provide you with information for good oral hygiene and cavity prevention. She will consult with you about how to promote good oral health and make recommendations for oral hygiene aids specific to your individual needs. Kimm will perform oral cancer screenings and record initial and periodic periodontal assessment as part of your dental hygiene treatment. She is concerned about the health of not just your teeth and gums, but the prevention of other potential health related risk factors that can be associated with periodontal disease. Kimm is highly trained and has the skills and experience to provide our patients with optimum treatment. Her goal is to work as a team with you to help you achieve a beautiful bright smile with healthy teeth and gums.
Brittany is a registered dental hygienist and she received her degree in dental hygiene from the University of Southern California in 2015. Brittany has been employed for Dr. Cardoza since 2016 and she has been a patient of Dr. Cardozas since she was 4 years old. She is concerned about the health of not just your teeth and gums, but the prevention of other potential health related risk factors that can be associated with periodontal disease. Brittany is highly trained and has the skills and experience to provide our patients with optimum treatment. Her goal is to work with as a team with you to help you achieve a beautiful bright smile with healthy teeth and gums.
Melynda is a registered dental assistant and has been in the dental field for 25 years and has been a team member for Dr. Cardoza since 2017. Her primary duties include assisting the Doctors during patient dental treatment along with preparing rooms and sterilizing instruments after patient care. Melynda also helps with the front office clerical and can answer many of the questions you may have. Her focus is to provide the best dental experience possible. Melynda was born and raised in San Diego and has 4 children.
Deidre is a registered dental assistant and has been in the field for 21 years working with Dr. Cardoza since 2000. Her primary duties include assisting the doctor during your dental treatment. She will prepare the treatment rooms by cleaning and sterilizing after every patient. Deidre will also help to explain your treatment and answer any questions you may have. Her focus is to provide you with the best dental experience possible. Deidre has 2 children and 3 grandchildren.

I had Janice, the hygienist for a teeth cleaning. She is amazing! Sweet, caring, and keeps you calm with her sweet sense of humor! I actually look forward to going back in 6 months just to chat with her again. Entire staff is always great with me. Best dental practice ever.

Great staff!Very helpful professional and friendly. Dr Cardoza does not perform services not needed..he is very ethical. I have had problems with other dentists in this regard. He does great work, no anxiety while I am having procedures done. Happy Patient

I called to make an appointment. I was told up front that it was a long wait for new patients. "Ok that is fine I am tired of looking and calling and I like the reviews of your office". The receptionist replied I suggest you call your insurance provider and find another office. Ok, fine. It is clear you are not wanting new patients. Just not sure what type of business turns away patients who are not in a rush for an appointment.

Dr Cardoza was referred to me by a friend. I noticed her beautiful white teeth and asked her who she uses. She said many of her family members use him. I told her I was looking to get a second opinion after I went to Western Dental and was told I need a deep cleaning and had two cavities between the teeth. Total was $4000.00 but with the Western Dental Insurance Plan, $2000.00. I researched deep cleanings and saw that many times corporate dentist companies are trying to meet a bottom line and that a deep cleaning can hurt more than help, if not needed. Dr Cardoza did a complete exam and explained everything they look for when they are determining if there is gum disease, etc. He showed me how I have no signs of needing a deep cleaning, that I just needed a regular cleaning. A couple hours later, I was able to get my cleaning that same day by Kim and she again went over what they look for and said I show no signs of needing a deep cleaning. She did an awesome cleaning on my teeth. Everyone there was very kind and personable. They didn't charge me for the consultation and the cleaning was $105.00. Very inexpensive. Not to mention they did not see any signs of cavities either. They are going to double check the digital x-rays once received, but Western Dental is lagging on sending them over. I had picked up a copy of the x-rays printed, but they didn't see any cavities in that copy. Everything done in one day and no wait to be seen for appointment. Excellent Dentist office!!

Y'all I can't say enough good things about this office. From the front desk to the Dr everyone is so helpful and kind. I have EXTREME anxiety about the dentist, so I hadn't been in a few years. First of all, there was NO judgment! I ended up having an infection and due to a cancellation they were able to start my healing process the same day. I had to get a deep cleaning and the hygienist was polite, calming and the process was totally pain free! Dr. Cardoza came in to check on me and explain everything (in terms I could understand) and assured me many times that me and my teeth would be ok. Due to there reassuring nature and amazing work I will never go anywhere else and will not have to struggle with anxiety going in. Five stars hands down!

By far the best dentist I've ever had. Fixed a chipped tooth for me that two other dentists said they couldn't fix. Personally called an oral surgeon for me and made sure i got in and was taken care of. Such a great office, staff, i cant say enough wonderful things about him and his staff

Doctor Cardoza is so good and honest when he left his location in El Cajon on Avocado to the Northern side of Santee past the trolley we followed him clear across town. My wife had serious PTSD from a dentist in Lakeside as a child and now you'd never know it. It took her til she was in her thirties from being gassed anymore thanks to Dr. Cardoza. His staff is awesome Daralyn is amazing Coordinating with your insurance company and dental schedule
