1. Whats your favorite memory or moment with a patient? There have been many great memories, but one time I had a twelve or thirteen year old boy with severely peg and pointed front teeth. Kinda like a cat. He was too young for definitive crowns or veneers, but plenty old to be teased at school and worry about them. We did some direct, tooth colored resin , veneers on his front 6 teeth. When we finished and I showed him a mirror his first sentence was, I look real. His mom cried. I did too. The young man was so happy. It was the first time that I truly realized how dentistry can change some ones life.
2. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go, and who would you take with you? I would definitely take my wife. She is my rock and the foundation that keeps my life in balance. I have been truly blessed by her. Where would we go? A two month sabbatical in Australia. Great barrier reef, Sydney, the outback, etc. High on the current bucket list.
3. What are your favorite things to do during your free time? During my free time I love to hunt and fish. Ive got some great buddies that I do both with and my kids are becoming good little anglers themselves.
4. What is one skill or talent you always wanted to have? True musicians have an ear. They can hear something and play it. Like ajazz manimprovising around the cords. I could read music, but I neverhad the ear. Its a talent I wished I had.
5. As a little kid what did you dream of becoming as a grown up? I think apediatrician. My dad worked awfully hard physically as an electrician and always planted the seed of a more white collared profession. I also think he felt they made a lot of money too.
7. What would your first thought be if you learned that you won the lottery? My family would be secure and that I couldnow help more people. Id also payoff our churches debt. Its a big drag on our congregation.
8. If I take a look inside your refrigerator, what would I find? Nothing, my wifes flower beds look great but the cupboards are bare. Please send food, the kids and I are starving!!!! Our freezer has 9 gallons of frozen fish chum that I didnt use last summer. My wife is very tolerant.
10. Whats your favorite quote, and why? Some men fish all their lives, and never know what they seekOutdoor pursuits tieus toour world, our ancestry, and our heritage. There is balance, harmony, and peaceon the water and in the woods. Fish dont care what you do for a living, how much you make, or how many hours you put in.One has to enter their world, slow down and fool themevery once in awhile.
