Dr. Anthony Lizano is a graduate of U.C.L.A. School of Dentistry and he obtained additional post-graduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Connecticut. In 1996 he became a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology / Implant Dentistry. There are approximately 300 doctors nationally Board Certified in Implant Dentistry and Dr. Lizano is the only one currently with an active practice in Contra Costa County.
Dr. Lizano completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Davis. He is a native of our area, and in 1991 returned to establish Diablo Valley Implant Dentistry, a practice limited to Implant Dentistry.
In addition to being a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology / Implant Dentistry, Dr. Lizano is a Fellow in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Dr. Lizano is an active member of the American Dental Association and California Dental Association. For many years he has served on the Board of Directors of the Contra Costa Dental Society and will serve as President of the dental society in 2010.
Dr. Lizano is an active staff member at John Muir Hospital and Aspen Surgery Center and he holds a state permit for the administration of conscious sedation. He has assisted the California Dental Board as an examiner of dentists seeking conscious sedation permits. Dr. Lizano also served as a state appointed Qualified Medical Evaluator.

Let me start off by saying I have never written a review for a dental practice, or really many reviews for anything else as a matter of fact. I'm a Registered Dental Assistant and I have made many referrals to Dr. Lizano but now I am living my own referral as I needed to get an implant and of course the only choice I would make would be Dr Lizano. What separates Dr Lizano from the others is from the first call to walking in and all appointments thereafter patrons are welcomed by a practice. From Cindy who answers the phone and does a lot more in the office to assistant Stephanie I always feel very welcomed and comfortable. Dr Lizano, is so knowledgeable and up to date on his skill as well as he himself is a very caring person and takes the time to make sure that you are comfortable and that you understand exactly what is going to happen. That in my opinion is very rare. He of course has a very important job to do and he does it with professionalism and finesse. As I have told Dr Lizano and his staff and I truly mean it Dr Lizano is a fantastic Implant Specialist, has a comforting voice and gently hands . When I leave I have not been in any pain what so ever. So from the bottom of my heart I thank Dr Lizano for such great work and to his staff for such great personalities. Today I got my tooth and just like all of my other appointments perfection. I can now be able to say with complete personal experience and confidence that Dr. Lizano and his staff are the number one choice for implants. If anyone is wavering on making a choice, this office is definitely a no brained for your choice. Dr Lizano you and your staff are 10+ in my opinion Thanks again Rhonda

Dr. Lizano and his team are extremely professional and friendly! Dr. Lizano put in extra time and care to make sure my teeth were cosmetically, very appealing since the implants were in the front of my mouth. Overall, the color is spot on and the shape is perfect! I am very please with my experience and would recommend him to anyone!

Like most, nobody wants to visit a dentist. But I needed a specialist and I was referred to Dr. Lizano by my family dentist. From the time I made my first appointment over the phone, up to and including my most recent visit, I cannot say enough about Dr. Lizano and his professional staff. My first appointment included a review of the course of actions to be taken to correct my issues. At that time, I met with the receptionist Cindy and she was so nice and she immediatley put me at ease. Dr. Lizano did my exam and explained all options. Cindy then explained in great detail, and in writing, my action plan, timeline, and expected expense. I was relieved to learn that it wasn't as bad as I initially thought. I went back a week later for my first procedure, which included me receiveing anesthetics. When I woke up, I had no pain then or anytime thereafter. I am visiting Dr. Lizano in a few weeks for my next steps and anticipate that I will be handled with kid gloves again. I highly recommend Dr. Lizano for his professional manner and for his staff for also being professional, accommodating and most importantly informative.

Dr. Lizano fired me 24 hours after I first saw him because I asked for possible treatment options to review prior to the final consultation visit. This was despite the fact that on the initial pre- first visit packet visit he asked how much information he asks how much information you want. I am very disappointed by the experience. However, as a physician, you should be very sceptical of a health professional who is threatened by their patients asking questions.

Dr. Anthony Lizano has done all four of my implants. The most recent was one of my front teeth, which now looks better than the original tooth. Upon entering his office, you are greeted in a warm and friendly manner by Cindy, the receptionist. This attitude continues with all staff members you come into contact with during your visit. The quality of Dr. Lizano's work and professionalism are over the top. Without hesitation, I highly recommend Dr. Lizano as he is, by far, the best of the best!

I was referred to Dr. Lizano by my dentist to evaluate implants instead of a bridge. I had to have 3 implants done, including bone enhancement. He did a fantastic job, and 3 plus years later I am still very happy with how I was treated, how the 'new teeth' look and how they feel. He is the go to guy for dental implants. I highly recommend him for your dental implant needs.

Doctor Lizano is the man !! He gave me back my smile. My teeth were in very poor condition (What teeth I had left). I knew they had to go, but I did not want dentures. He assured me that he could do full implants, top and bottom. Now after it's all done, I can eat and smile. They are very comfortable and I am very happy with the results. I would highly recommend Doctor Lizano and his staff......They are very friendly and made me feel very comfortable through the whole process.
