He grew up in East Central Indiana his entire life. He graduated from Tri-Central High School (Sharpsville, IN) in 1992. He then went on to attend Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, where he completed his undergraduate degree in three years, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1995. In 1999, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from Indiana University School of Dentistry. He was accepted to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency training program at St. Francis Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA and completed the four year residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2003. While in Pittsburgh, he worked with St. Francis Medical Center, Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, Montefiore Hospital, and Shady Side Hospital. During his surgical residency he received extensive training in the removal of teeth, trauma, facial reconstructive surgery, dental implants, and facial cosmetics. After his surgical residency, Dr. Hornaday moved back to Indiana and opened his current private practice in July 2003.
Dr. Hornaday has served as President of the East Central Indiana Dental Association and as a delegate on a state level to the Indiana Dental Association. He holds active memberships in the Indiana Dental Association and the American Dental Association.

DO NOT COME HERE. Sheer incompetence. Went in for 4 wisdom teeth extractions, was denied the option to keep the teeth. I was told that OSHA regulations prevented their release because they were a biohazardous material. As the patient, I have a right to them, and OSHA regulations don't apply to teeth released to the patient. The extraction was slipshod and barbaric at best. The drugs I was prescribed were too weak for someone my size, and when asked why the dosage was so low, was told that "everyone gets the same dosage". Now I'm not a doctor, but I have enough medical knowledge to know that a 120lb. person and a 310lb. person need different dosages. When given gas, the hose was either off or on such a low flow that even now, 15 minutes later, i'm as clear headed as when i woke up this morning. DO NOT COME HERE.

my mother went to the receptionist and she proceeded to say "you're obviously too old yo be her mother. we need adoption papers" my mother is 73, and I am in fact adopted but that's none of her business and the only reason she asked was bc my mother is so old. she was extremely discriminating towards me and my mother by BRANDING us as "adopted parent and daughter." I will not go back to this place because of the offensive discrimination.

Dr hornaday is the best doctor I've seen in a while. Went to have a wisdom tooth pulled and was in and out in under 15-20 mins. I would definitely recommend him to others as well! His staff were also very friendly and helpful and nice to talk to! Definitely a plus!

Fast. Easy. No pain. I got my wisdom teeth removed today and it was 15 minutes tops! I would recommend him to anyone

Please be very diligent going to this man he is extremely pushy about his wants and does not take yours into consideration. If he can't take the amount of teeth out that he wants then he won't touch them at all. I myself work in a medical office and I find this man and his staff extremely disturbing when they push the patients to do things they don't want to do and make threats that they won't do it "unless" you do it their way. This is extremely unprofessional and this practice needs to be investigated.

I came to do a consultation for wisdom teeth and they refused to allow my service dog in the office only in the waiting room. I was in the waiting room before they told this and then when I got back they said they would have to sanitize because of my service dog.

Had my wisdom teeth removed the staff are friendly and professional dr hornaday was great was pretty quick and healing up nice would definitely recommend them and can't thank them enough

I had a great experience today! I have never had nitrous oxide or anything cut out. Somehow, I wasn't super nervous. The building is very comfortable and relaxing. The employees are all super kind and caring. When I went in today, they didn't put pressure on the fact that I was having my wisdom teeth cut out. They just walked in, talked to me the whole time about fun stuff, and I was out of there in like 7 minutes. :) I would recommend him to anyone and everyone!

I had a really quick and easy wisdom tooth surgery today! I've been putting this thing off for YEARS! They had been causing me so much pain and I decided it was time to get them out. Dr. Hornaday was amazing and I felt calm the entire time even though I struggle with a lot of anxiety! I really recommend this office and their staff. My nurse, Renee, was fantastic for both the consultation and surgery. Thanks for making this inconvenient procedure a walk in the park for me!

This man is brilliant. I have severe anxiety and was very worried about getting one of my wisdom teeth extracted. The procedure was fast and painless. This man is extremely professional and also intuitive about people being nervous and uncomfortable and is good about soothing people's anxieties. I have never had such a good dental experience. I wish I could go to him for everything. I went there several years ago for the procedure, but I remember that it was the best dental experience I ever had. A friend was looking for dental recommendations and Dr. Hornaday is always the first name that pops into my mind, but unfortunately I know he doesn't do general dentistry and is a specialized, oral surgeon. Like I said, wish I could go to him for everything because he is so professional, highly skilled, and concise.

One of my teeth had become infected and I was in some of the worst pain I had ever experienced in my life and it needed to be removed. Dr. Hornaday and his staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The extraction took barely any time at all and with virtually no pain. If I could give a higher rating I 100% would. I'm so happy.

While he did an excellent job removing my son's wisdom teeth, Dr. Hornaday was very condescending when he spoke to me. His staff is friendly and thoughtful though, which made up for it.

Way overpriced! Was never told up front how much it was going to be and then they charged $300 to have a small tooth pulled! Never again!!!!

We had a pleasant experience at Hornaday's office. The receptionists and nurses were very warm and welcoming to my daughter an me. Dr. Hornaday made sure I knew exactly what he'd be doing and the procedure on my daughter was done quickly. Definitely recommend.

Great experience on Monday. Had one tooth extracted and the process was about as painless as you could hope for and they are SO fast! Very friendly and professional staff and doctor. Yes I would recommend to anyone who needs oral surgery in Muncie.
