Dr. Grasso is a lifelong resident of the Syracuse New York area. He has three children, Joseph, Vincent, and Sofia. He is also thrilled about their newest family member, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy named Windsor who is in training to be a service dog. When not in the office, Dr. Grasso enjoys being with his family and is also involved in youth ministry and going on medical mission trips.
Dr. Grasso is committed to learning about all aspects of dentistry including new advances in dentistry such as Invisalign, cosmetic dentistry and dental implants. Dr. Grasso wants his patients to always feel that when they walk into his dental office, they will be thoroughly cared for and that all their dental needs will be met. Dr. Grasso graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo and completed his dental residency in 1991 at SUNY Health Science Center. He has been in private practice, family dentistry since 1991.
While at SUNY Buffalo, Dr. Grasso was awarded the Victor A. Fumia Award for excellence in fixed prosthodontics. He also received the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology Award for outstanding ability and interest in the field of pain control.
Angela Carbone is a native of the Liverpool area and has been married since 1996 to her best friend, Geoff. As an assistant for Dr. Grasso, Angela most enjoys the personal interactions with her patients and loves the opportunity to make them feel good about their smiles. In her free time, Angela likes to sing, bake, and work with young people. She also travels to Hungary each year to work with teens as a part of her mission work.
Melissa Corey relocated to the Syracuse area with her family in 2012. With nearly 23 years experience in the dental field, Melissa started working part time with Dr. Grasso and team in March of 2014, and last year she became the Office Manager. Melissa 's 'can do' attitude and calm and easy manner keeps things going smoothly no matter how busy the office is! She truly enjoys working with the community and their patients to help them to achieve a confident, beautiful smile.
Kari feels that it is very important to stay current with the latest topics in Dental Hygiene so that she can always educate her patients. As a graduate of Broome Community College, she enjoys learning and contributing to the team at Dr. Grasso's office. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and her dog, Xena.
I guess that 's because I love to learn... and I always learn something new about my health as it relates to my dental health when I 'm at Dr. Grasso 's. My last visit there was no exception. The hygienist and I were talking about the importance of flossing... not an unusual subject when you 're sitting in that chair. And then she said something that changed the way I think about flossing forever. She said 'I don 't lecture people about it. I just say 'Floss the teeth you want to keep.'
I jokingly said, 'So if I want to keep my front teeth, I 'd better floss them, right?' She laughed and said, 'Absolutely. Pick the teeth you want to keep and floss them. Don 't bother about the ones you won 't miss.'
So if you 're like most of us who either aren 't consistent with flossing, or are a little careless, or if you have kids that are... don 't bother with the lectures. Simply tell them the truth: 'Floss the Teeth You Want to Keep!'
