Ive been practicing dentistry since 1983.Over the years, I have been honored to meet, care for, and become friends with many people. I appreciate being able to interact with people of all ages and different walks of life. I learn much from what my patients share and find our conversationshelp to shape me into a better person.

We treat each patient like family. Because were not a high volume practice, we have the time and freedom to provide dentistry on a personal level: working with patients rather than dictating a particular treatment path. Instead, we take time to explain each procedure and all the options thoroughly.We never recommend any unnecessary treatment, and keep our patients engaged in their dental care.

The practice of dentistry is constantly changing, so it is vital that I stay current with the latest technologies, techniques, and research. I take a wide range of continuing education courses every year, to ensure that I completely understand the newest options and how they can improve results and the treatment experience.

I am a board-certified fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. This designation is earned through extensive postgraduate education and rigorous evaluations. I have also completed the Level IV Continuum at the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education and am a contributing member of the Spear Dental Study Club.

I served as a member of the Northwest Indiana Dental Society board of directors and trustees for nearly a decade and was the dental director for the Lake County Indiana Correctional Facility. I am currently a mentor dentist for Cerecdoctors.com.

I was born in Chicago, grew up in Dolton, Illinois, and moved to Indiana after completing dental school. My wifeBarbarais a board-certified Diplomate in pediatric dentistry and has her own practice. I have two sons,Tony and Mark.

I really enjoy fixing things and making something from what was previously nothing. I am passionate about precision and doing things the right way, with no shortcuts; always working toward an end result I can take pride in.

I enjoy interacting with my patients and forming real friendships while helping them develop stronger oral health. When Im able to help friends improve their dental health, and in turn their smiles, Im thrilled!

I provide one-to-one care: offering gentle and thorough dental cleanings, inspecting mouths for signs of oral diseases, and taking X-rays. A lot of my day is focused on patient education teaching people why its important to take care of their smile and how to do so. I started working in the dental field in 2009 and found my professional family here in 2010. We have a wonderfully positive atmosphere and great teamwork.

I enjoy meeting interesting people and hearing about their lives and experiences. Each of them has a story, and I appreciate when someone shares who they are. These conversations create friendships and keep me smiling!

I work in the clinic, where I seat and prepare patients for their procedure, explainwhat well be doing, and answeryour questions. Staying chairside, I assist Dr. Hirschenberger, and when hes done I talk with our patients about homecare and check that theyre comfortable with what weve done. Ive been in the dental field, and with Dr. Hirschenberger, since 1997. Ours is an amazing team; all of us are united in our goal to help you achieve a healthy, beautiful smile!
