Dr. Vernon Sheen is a general dentist in Annapolis, Maryland. Since 1991, he has provided patients in Annapolis with comprehensive dentistry service including excellent preventive care programs, cosmetic dentistry and restorative dental treatments.

Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, Dr. Sheen graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 1990. Shortly thereafter, he relocated to Annapolis, Maryland and opened The Annapolis Center for Dental Health & Wellness.

Continuing education is a personal goal of Dr. Sheen. Since his graduation, he has logged in over a thousand hours of continuing education including, but not limited to, cosmetic dentistry, implantology, periodontal therapy, TMJ disorders and malocclusion. He is a certified Invisalign provider. This ongoing education contributes greatly to furthering his clinical skills and maintaining his leadership in dentistry.

He is currently enrolled in a program focusing on implant dentistry, and recently completed a cosmetic dentistry program at the LSU College of Dentistry, considered to be one of the foremost programs nationwide by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Sheen believes in the community he serves. He is a member of the Annapolis Chamber of Commerce, involved with various charitable organizations, a graduate of Leadership Anne Arundel and Parishioner at St. Marys Church. He loves living in the Annapolis area as it satisfies his personal interests of sailing and golf. He is an avid reader and loves to cook.

Dr. Sheen prides himself on the level of care and attention he and his staff offer their patients. The goal is to provide individualized dental care of exceptional quality. Through open communication, they strive to develop long-term relationships, treating each patient like a member of the family. Dr. Sheen is extremely proud of his talented staff. Nick has worked with Dr. Sheen as his hygienist since graduating from the Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Maryland in 1996. He is continuously improving his skills in patient care and increasing his knowledge on the latest techniques in periodontal, or gum, therapy.

He has spent hundreds of hours on continuing education with an emphasis on systemic conditions. In conjunction with his duties as a hygienist, he focuses on each patients individual needs and concerns, and is dedicated to assisting his patients achieve overall health and wellness.

Off hours, Nick spends the majority of his time enjoying his family and two sons. Numerous interests, including fly fishing, surfing, gardening, and antique restoration, keep him very busy. We are proud to have Nick as part of our team and offer his extensive knowledge and skills.

Nikki has worked with Dr. Sheen since 1994. She can be found either working chairside, assisting in the care of our patients, or, more frequently, in the business office assisting our patients with various administrative duties. Nikki is currently a member of the National Association of Dental Assistants and is certified in expanded chairside function. This broad dental knowledge makes her an invaluable asset to our practice.

Her regular participation in continuing education courses keeps her in the forefront in both the clinical and administrative arenas. Nikkis forte is her interaction with our patients, delivering them comfort and compassion before, during and after treatment.

Nikki is a native of Annapolis. She enjoys baking, cake decorating, and spending time with family and friends. We are thrilled to have her as part of our team. Please feel free to consult Nikki regarding any treatment-related or administrative questions that may arise.

Connita is the Executive Director for Dr. Sheens office. She has over 34 years of dental experience, from assisting to practice management. With this knowledge, she can assist our patients with their administrative needs and answer any clinical questions that may arise. She loves working with people, so you will find her to be extremely professional, courteous, and caring.

Connita currently resides in Crofton. Family is important to her and she makes every effort to spend as much time with them as possible. She enjoys traveling places like Germany, Austria, and will be visiting Italy in 2020 while still enjoying trips to small local towns for shopping and site seeing, or to Florida and the Caribbean for some rest and relaxation.

Connita is a definite asset to the practice. Connitas responsibilities include, but are not limited to scheduling, insurance claims filing / follow-up, and treatment plan coordination and financial arrangements.

Gracie joined our team in 2018. She brings with her over 10 years of experience from front office to chairside assisting expertise. When she is not assisting Dr. Sheen in improving smiles and providing quality patient care, she is spending quality time with her young son, Joseph.

Jen joined our team in 2019. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2009. While there, she was part of the Periodontal Honors Clerkship program.

Since becoming a dental hygienist, Jen has worked in general, periodontal, and pediatric specialty practices. She loves general dentistry because she gets to see all of the specialties in one setting and become their primary dental advocate.

Jen continues to grow in her field through didactic and clinical continuing education courses while concentrating on the latest techniques to best treat her patients. She loveseducating her patients on the prevention of disease. One of Jens favorite things about being a dental hygienist is meeting and building long-lasting relationships with her patients.

Jen was born and raised on the Eastern Shore where she still lives with her husband, son, and daughter. She enjoys traveling, creating everyday adventures with her family, and cheering for the Orioles.
