Dr. Johnson has been taking care of the local residents in Northern Virginia for over 30 years at Annandale SmilesClick to go Annandale Smiles home page. He graduated from the Medical College of Virginia, completed his general dental practice residency at West Virginia University, and completed the neuromuscular program at the World-Renowned Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies.
Dr. Dee earned her undergraduate degree in Punjab, India, and moved to the United States to earn her doctor of dental surgery degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. To date, she continues to expand her expertise through continuing dental education and courses, plus her involvement in the Academy of General Dentistry as an active member.
Our Annandale dentist strives to give all her patients excellent dentistry with individualized care. She looks forward to meeting you and your family and helping you smile! In her free time, Dr. Dee loves to spend time with her loved ones, and some of her hobbies include reading and cooking for family and friends.
Dr. Michael is a Northern Virginia native and graduated magna cum laude from Virginia Tech with a BS in biology. After college, he spent time with his dentist and became inspired to pursue a career in dentistry. Dr. Michael earned his doctor of dental surgery degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, plus completed an advanced education general dentistry residency at the University of California in Los Angeles.
Hes an active member of the Pankey Institute and the Academy of General Dentistry and participates in continuing education for dental implant, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry. Our Annandale, VA dentist is also an active member of the Spear Faculty Study Club, and his goal is for patients to gain the confidence that comes from a beautiful, healthy smile. Dr. Michaels favorite pastimes revolve around basketball, running, and golf.
Dr. Shadi received her bachelor of science in biology from George Mason University and her doctorate of dental medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. She specializes in cosmetic dentistry and is passionate about helping people smile with confidence!
As a member of Annandale Smiles, she enjoys helping patients create a smile that looks good and feels good. Dr. Shadi knows the power a smile makeover can have on a persons entire life, so she works closely with patients to help them become the best version of themselves.
Shes qualified in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, plus places implants and restores them. In her free time, Dr. Shrestha loves spending time with family, reading books, going on scenic hikes/walks, or just strolling through the city with her dog. In addition, she enjoys traveling, trying different cuisine, and relaxing or staying active at the beach or lakeside.
Dr. Choi grew up in South Korea and moved to the US with his family when he was 17. His mom was a dental hygienist, and Dr. Choi was exposed to the field early on, hoping to one day help others as well. He earned his BS in biology/chemistry from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and his doctor of dental surgery degree from the New York University College of Dentistry.

Front desk lady and lady who brought me back were cold but my dental hygienist Jimmy was amazing and so kind. He was friendly and made me comfortable to ask questions and get feedback about my dental care. He and Dr. Johnson both gave me confidence in my care and care plan moving forward. I recently moved but will go out of my way to continue going back. They do a great job working with insurance as well. Highly recommend.
As a new patient, I loved my experience at Annandale Smiles! The exam rooms were clean and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable! Nancy (the hygienist) explained everything during the cleaning and how to improve my flossing! Dr. Michael and his assistant, Gaby, kept me relaxed and made me feel comfortable during my fillings. Added bonus that they give you a welcome bag with goodies and theres a ton of free parking! 10/10 would recommend!

11/02/2022: I came here as a new patient after 3+ years of not going to the dentist. The receptionists were nice; once my appointment was ready, I was given a tour of the practice which I previously did not experience anywhere else. My hygienist Jimmy was fantastic. Given my circumstances, he was able to recommend the best cleaning option for me. Throughout my cleaning, he made sure I was comfortable and not in pain. His explanations were thorough enough for a newbie patient to understand. He did his work with the utmost professionalism. Dr. Manisha was kind although a majority of my appointment was spent in the cleaning with Jimmy. Overall great experience.

I am happy to be a patient at Annandale Smiles! I have been going there for the last 6 years. It's a great location and more importantly, It's a Great Team! Jimmy is as close to a perfect hygienist as any I have ever had the pleasure of having my teeth cleaned by. As are all the hygienists there. I'm sorry I do not remember all there names, but they are all wonderful. Currently I am having a 20 year old Crown replaced by Dr. Micheal and Cecilia. They have been outstanding. I am looking forward to receiving my permanent crown and being a patient there for many years to come. Thank You Annandale Smiles!

Jimmy, Stephanie, and Dr. Choi were amazing! Jimmy and Dr. Choi really took there time to exam everything and worked well together. They were all friendly, personable, and experienced. I highly recommend seeing them!

1 dread going to a dentist. I find the whole process very unpleasant and often feel like dentists are there to oversell services. I saw Dr. Manisha this past week (came with lot of doubt and questions). She patiently took the time to answer all my questions. I didn't feel pressured to buy any services that didn't want to. She was very caring about my dental hygiene and explained my x-rays well. I will definitely be coming here every 6 months; I will also recommend my friends and family to this dentist. I also found her hygienist, Miss Virginia, very nice and throughout. They def. work well together; this team made sure I didn't waste time sitting around the office.

I have been to many dentists and Annandale Smiles is by far my favorite. Even though it takes me a while to get there, I am a loyal customer now and it's mostly due to Dr. Manisha Shrestha and I also had a very good experience with hygienist Virginia. Dr. Shrestha has been very diligent with my check ups and have given me very helpful guidance. She is very considerate and communicates well! I will not look elsewhere for dentistry service!!

Michelle and Jimmy are the Best folks you can ever have working on your teeth. Jimmy manages to do the impossible ( bring stained damaged teeth back to life) Michelle helps several dentist's at the same time, and does this professionally while making sure patients are comfortable and taking care of. Although I like my dentist Micharl and Jimmy, I was charged for an comprehensive evaluation which I did not request. I have been to this dentist for over a year already and they should have everything on file already. Not really appreciate the charges of $193.00

I've been coming to Annandale smiles for about 4 years I've always experienced top quality professionalism and service from here. Dr Choi and his team has been great. Today I was helped out with Karla but in the past I've been helped out by others too. Dr Choi takes his time to explain in detail about the procedure that would be done and when he's finished it he will explain what happened. Bonus if you speak Korean too. It is always great coming to this dental establishment. I remember as a new patient, the had a special offer and gave me a goodie bag. I've referred my family and friends here and I also recommend whoever is reading this review to this establishment. They care for the dental and overall satisfaction of their clients. They have a front and rear entrance and parking in both. Hours are flexible and fits my schedule. They often have specials and giveaways too!

Having been a client (whole family) of Dr Johnson's practice for about 20+ years, I've been there for the early years of the practice, defined by excellence, compassionate care (and painless! ) and personal care. We are still here because those qualities have always remained through all the years, and continue to be a priority, as the clinic grew to the present, instilled in his wonderful staff. The quality of care and followups are top notch, the equipment is state-of-the-art. The office staff is always courteous and on target helpful ! Even help us with best insurance options for current needs. I truly feel safe in their hands which is important to me from my childhood years of poor dentistry, pain and un-necessary tooth pullings. I appreciate that they really listen to me and explain everything thoroughly. To the present - The most recent appts.- Dr Choi is providing my care for another implant. He personifies all that I've said above : in excellence, listening and personal, kind care. So, thank you Dr Choi ! And during these recent treatments, and today, I've had Karla assisting Dr. Choi. Again, all that I said above, in her care and attention to getting it right and making my visit worry free. Thank you Karla ! Highly suggestable Dr. Do did a fantastic job and made the experience wonderful! From reassuring me that I was fine during the process to making me feel at ease! I now support Dr. Do because of her upbeat demeanor and calming demeanor. They go above and above expectations, and I highly suggest them to everyone! The interests of the patients are, in fact, best served by this practice.

My dental anxiety is REAL! I have avoided a dental office for seven years. However, recently i needed some care and reached out to Annandale Smiles !! .... Amazing care and kindness. .... My membership was about to end in a few days and I had my last free cleaning. When I was about to pay, they told me that I had to pay my membership in advance again so that the cost of the processes would be reduced. I told them I was going to pay for the membership once it's over. They charged me for all the procedures that were supposed to be free except for Fluoride (I asked for it). From $39 to 273 for refusing to pay the membership. Membership is a malicious trap to grab more money. I don't go to this place anymore. The only good thing I can say is that those who work in cleaning are very kind but the others are terrible.

So I went to this dentist for a routine dental exam and cleaning. And I did not expect anything more than that. However, I was in for a surprise. The entire office staff was so professional, expedient, and kind. They had me in the room within minutes. I then had the pleasure of meeting with the office manager Susan. She was amazing. Annandale Smiles is fortunate to have her. She has the office running perfectly. She also set me up with invisilign, which I was not even thinking of doing. She is really good. I enjoyed my time with her. Then I also had the pleasure of dealing with Dr. Dee and her assistant (I didn't get her name). She made the entire process seamless and easy. I recommend her. Rosalie was the dental hygienist and she always makes you feel at home. She is really great. Thank you Annandale Smiles.

I am very disappointed, with the doctor she messed up my smile . Is definitely the worst decision. I had a miserable service, I went there looking for help because a tiny piece of my tooth broke , I had a lot of injections of anesthesia, and the woman persuaded me to remove my tooth. Which I would have never agreed, I signed a bill for the restoration of my broken tooth, she looked unhappy crossed arms and asked the receptionist to bring another bill of $4k. I just remember that they put three heavy teeth in my hand, they didn't advice what was better, but the woman removed one tooth and destroyed two more to put a bridge . I don't understand why this has happened to me. There was no need to destroy my smile I can't overcome this, and there's is nothing that can be done now. It doesn't feel good I am unconfident about my smile I will never be the same. I am so regret for trusting my dental health to that woman. It was not easy for her to remove my teeth because the root was strong so the she had a hard time and pulled a lot and put more anesthesia. My gums were sore. And I very frustrated. I wish I could go back in time and have never gone there. She was definitely having a bad day that she asked her assistant to leave the room. I wrote the review and she called me asking me why was I saying stupid things? (It should be recorded on the call). The clinic has done their best for helping me they are very nice but there is nothing that can be done at this point. My smile will never be the same

After a few years of visiting Annandale Smiles, I can't help but keep coming back. The staff is extremely caring. Rosalie (Dental Hygienist- She's been my Hygienist- for a few years and really cares) Andrea (helped when I had to get fillings... She made sure I was relaxed), and Dr. Shadi are all excellent. I can't thank this team enough for making me feel so comfortable. Appreciate all your support and for keeping my teeth healthy. And kudos to Dr. Shadi for removing my cracked metal filling and fixing it before it got worse. I have had dentists for years that won't touch metal fillings and Dr. Shadi saved my tooth. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
