Growing up in Taiwanfrom a large family of five siblings, Ann learned the essence of caring and nurturing from her late mother whowas always kind and loving. Dr. Lious sense ofgentle touch andthe sensitivity to others feelings became an instinct early inher life.
Afterfinishing dental school in Taiwan in 1981, she continued her dental training at the University of Southern California where shereceived her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1984. She then practicedfour years as a general dentist in Los Angeles andSan Diego.
During this clinical practice, Dr. Liou realized that there were patients with very complex dental issues that she was not comfortable treating. She realized in order to help patients with complicated conditions she had to go back to school again. Becoming a prosthodontist seemed to be the way to achieve her goal.She went back to school for a third time,this time to the University of Washington where she received a Master of Science in Dentistry degree in prosthodontics in 1991.
Dr. Liou enjoyed teaching, doing research and part-time clinical practice during her tenure in teaching. Unfortunately she developed a latex allergy and had to leave teaching where latex was in the environment. She then started her full-time private practice in Edmonds in 1997. She was voted one of the best dentists in America by her peers in 2004. She has also been voted one of the best prosthodontists by the Seattle Met magazine since 2011.
As an avid learner, Dr. Liou enjoys taking lessons on cooking, golfing, opera singing and learning different languages. Her passion in life is to continue learning. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Dr. Felix grew up in the Seattle area. For his undergraduate studies he attended the University of Washington where he received his Bachelors of Science in Biology. Dr. Felix earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 2014, and moved back home to Washington to practice general dentistry. He is excited to be practicing alongside his aunt, Dr. Ann Liou, here in Edmonds to carry on a tradition of excellence in dentistry and patient care.
Dr. Felix strives to treat his patients with kindness, respect and gentleness. He hopes that his patients feel knowledgeable and involved in caring for their own dental health and to value its importance in their lives. He is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the dental care he provides.
Amanda began working in the dental field in 1995 as a dental assistant in general dentistry and oral surgery. After going back to school, she received her Dental Hygiene license in 2009 from the Shoreline Community College Dental Hygiene program. Amanda says that becoming a dental hygienist made her feel like she found her calling. She prides herself in providing thorough, gentle, customized care for every patient she works with.
Amanda is a local Edmonds resident. She lives in town with her husband, Eric, of 20 years. Amanda also has two amazing children who keeps them very busy! In her spare time, Amanda enjoys spending time with family, cheering for the Seahawks, attending music concerts and going to stand-up comedy shows. She feels that laughter is truly the greatest medicine! Amanda says I look forward to meeting and working with you at our office!
Chloe started her career in dentistry in 2013. She first received her Associates Degree in Business at Shoreline Community College, but changed her path and received a Dental Assisting Certificate at PIMA Medical Institute in 2013. She started work as Dr. Ann Lious Dental assistant and has worked at our dental office ever since! Chloe has since become the Office Manager. She loves all aspects of dentistry and strives to create the most compassionate and comfortable environment for patients.
Chloe grew up in the Edmonds area and now lives in Magnolia. In her spare time she enjoys Seattle sporting events, wine tasting, anything in the outdoors, spending time with her friends and family, and spending time with her Golden Retriever, Riley!
Samantha started her career in dentistry in 2012. She can do it all! and works both as a dental assistant and coordinates treatment for patients. She loves helping others feel good about their smile and making friendships and connections with our patients.

Dr Ann has been our dentist for over twenty years. Dr Felix joined her not to long ago. Both are excellent dentist, not only maintaining existing teeth as well as enhancing our smiles with bonding's, caps, and bridges. Their hygienists and office staff are friendly and welcoming, maintaining a healthy environment during the pandemic. Thank you

Every encounter I have ever had with Dr Ann Liou and Dr Felix Liou has been exceptional. Their knowledge, skill and mastery of dentistry in all its areas is really beyond anything I've encountered in all my decades of sitting in a dental chair. I wish I could give them 20 stars. You wouldn't think that a car accident could be a good thing, but for me and my smile it was - because it lead me to Dr. Ann Liou and her amazing team at Dentistry from the Heart. About six months prior to the car accident I completed a 2-year, $40,000 full dental restoration with a now retired Dr. Thomas R-------- on lower Queen Anne. I was very disappointed with the final result - actually, I was VERY, VERY disappointed, but figured I'd have to live with it. Fast forward six months to the car accident when 7-airbags went off in my car, and two of them smacking me right in my face, breaking two front teeth off at the gum line. There was no way I was going back to that other dentist (he who shall not be named) on lower Queen Anne. Because of the work I had just gone through, I can say that Dr. Liou has done beautiful work on my teeth. I have had friends and clients comment on how amazing they look. Dr. Liou is a perfectionist, which is what you want in a dentist. She actually had me drive to the lab several times to make sure the teeth were the right color, and that they looked good in my mouth. A tooth isn't totally the same color, and Dr. Liou and the lab made them look natural, and just what I wanted. I have already scheduled appointments for January to start replacing more of the shabby work by the other dentist. Dr. Liou took my smile from a Walmart smile to a Nordstrom smile. If you have read this far you know how happy I am with Dr. Liou, but I also want to say I've never had to wait for my appointment (she is always on time), the office is very comfortable, and throughout the work being done she and her team go out of their way to make sure I'm okay. Then there is Chloe. Chloe is great to work with. She is accommodating, understands my work schedule, is very professional, and kind. Everyone there is great, and a BIG thumbs up to Dr. Felix Liou. I'm grateful for everyone at Dentistry from the Heart.

Absolutely a great practice. They're all quite talented, very personable, high on customer care and give you a path forward in whatever treatment plan and level of restoration works best for you. I've been a patient of theirs for years and would highly recommend without reservation their services and expertise as they're top notch!

We have always been impressed with Dr Liou and all her staff. I get my teeth cleaned 3 times a year and look forward to it. The office staff are fantastic. My past experiences before seeing Dr Liou were painful. Dr Liou knows how to administer a pain free shot. She is a consummate professional and knows her practice.

I had a great first visit with Dr. Felix Liou and Amanda. For the initial examination, Dr. Felix was very detail oriented and thorough. He quickly noticed certain areas in my X-rays and explained everything clearly. He was also very patient in answering all my questions and put my mind at ease with his recommendations for addressing my dental issues. For the cleaning, Amanda the hygienist was also very thorough while being very considerate of where I had been experiencing some sensitivity. This was the best dental office experience I've ever had and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new dentist in the Seattle area.
