Dr. Stephen Meraw received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit Mercy, where he was Senior Class President and recipient of the Thurbor Alumni Award for Clinical Excellence. He then completed his Internship in Hospital Dentistry and Residency in Periodontics at the the top 2 medical institutions in the country, the Johns Hopkins Hospital and the Mayo Clinic, respectively. He also earned a Masters degree in Biomedical Sciences from the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine, and later a second Masters degree in Health Care Management from Harvard University.

Dr. Meraw is a recipient of the Kramer Scholar Award, which is awarded each year to the top clinical Periodontal graduate in the United States from the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation. He is a Board Certified Specialist, also known as a Diplomate by the American Board of Periodontology, and has served on the faculty of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry for the past 16 years.

Ruthie attended school at Tulsa Junior College. She has been with the practice for over 20 years as Practice Administrative and Treatment Coordinator. Ruthie helps to educate patients about periodontal disease and dental implant care.

Andrea attended Washtenaw Community college where she got her CDA and RDA in Dental Assisting. Andrea has worked with this practice for 22 years as a dental assistant and part of the administrative team. Andrea is our hygiene coordinator and works diligently to help the patient understand their insurance benefits and limitation. She helps the patient stay on top of their cleaning schedule.

Laurie attended Owens Community College where she received her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene. Laurie has been part of the hygiene team here for 21 years. With 21 years of experience and training, her skills up the quality of care required to treat the special needs of a periodontal patient.

Debbie has been practicing clinical dental hygiene in the states of Michigan and Ohio since 1983 for general and periodontal practices. She has worked part time at periodontal practices since 1991 and is now practicing full time at Ann Arbor Periodontics. Debbie got her first start at Ann Arbor Periodontics as a sub-hygienist in 2003, then started practicing one day per week and as the children grew older, two days then three, and now full time since her children are now attending college. Debbie thinks of her role not only as a clinician, but as an educator, teaching patients how to care for their teeth and discussing the relationship between periodontal health and overall health.

In addition to her clinical position, Debbie has been an adjunct faculty clinical instructor at Owens Community College since 2005 working with students in the dental hygiene clinic and lab. She is also a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association, and she is treasurer at her local component.

Debbie received her Dental Hygiene degree at Owens Community College, her EFDA (Expanded Functions Dental Auxillary) Certificate the same year; and in 2008 she completed her BAS degree from Siena Heights University. She is married to her husband Larry and they have two children, Curtis and a daughter Cori. In her spare time she loves walking at the many beautiful parks in Ann Arbor and Toledo, perennial gardens, and likes to paint furniture.

Jody started working in dentistry at 16 years old! In 2001 she graduated from the Washtenaw Community College Dental Assistant Program where she obtained her CDA and RDA. She has been with this practice ever since.

She enjoys time spent with her flower garden, kayaking, archery, and walking their mini golden doodle with her two children and husband. One of her proudest personal achievements is being a top individual fundraiser for charity; The Children's Tumor Foundation in February 2016.

Danielle enjoyed an extensive career in restorative dentistry where full mouth reconstruction was the focus of treating patients with extensive challenges or injuries. She spent over 20years working alongside her mentor Prosthodontist, Dr. L.W. Seluk. It was there that she earned a Prosthodontic Dental Assisting Award through a program given by the ADAA and ACP. In addition, she attended a surgical program in Chapel Hill, NC, given by the AAP for the ACP/Prosthodontists and their Assistants. This was her formal introduction to oral surgery as this program focused on the placement of dental implants. Danielle went on to finish her Bachelors Degree through Wayne State and then in more recent years acquired her CDA and RDA through Washtenaw Community College.

Danielle also has two girls in their teens that keep her very busy with all their extracurricular activities. Her girls are as different as day & night and she wouldnt have it any other way. Variety is the spice to life. In her spare time, she also enjoys birding, photography, painting & is passionate about music.

Suzie graduated from the well-respected Dental Assistant program at Washtenaw Community College in 2002. She started her Dental Assisting career working in Oral Surgery where she assisted at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital operating room on major jaw surgery cases. Throughout her career she has worked in several specialty fields of Dentistry; Endodontics, Orthodontics, Pedodontics, and Family Practice, totaling 22 years of experience.

She comes from a family of dental professionals and originally wanted to become a dental hygienist but quickly learned that she loved assisting because it gives her an array of opportunities to help patients.

Suzie has two daughters who are her entire world and takes great pride in showing them by example what it looks like to have a career that you love and to take every opportunity you can to excel at what you do.
