This is exemplified by his overwhelming concern for their comfort, ensuring that each patient receives gentle and compassionate dental care. He involves patients in decisions regarding their personalized, comprehensive care that will achieve the results they desire.

Dr. Schmidt routinely attends continuing education courses, stating I believe it is very important to stay current with the best proven technologies which can provide for better quality, and more efficient care for our patients. After over thirty-five years of practicing dentistry, I still really enjoy practicing dentistry knowing we can provide the best dental care for our patients.

Beyond the field of dentistry, Dr. Schmidt has raised a family and pursues a wide range of activities from athletics to the arts. My family has always been important. Raising my three sons has been one of the joys of my life. His sons are all now young adults pursuing professional careers of their own.

Athletically, Dr. Schmidt has had the good fortune to participate in a variety of activities. He has run marathons, including the Boston Marathon, bicycled through parts of Europe and enjoys backpacking with his sons. Currently, Dr. Schmidt enjoys mountain biking on trails around the Ann Arbor area.

Artistically, Dr. Schmidt creates art in several mediums. As you walk through our office you will see Dr. Schmidts own original artwork on display. Featured are framed watercolor paintings, hand blown glass and ceramics. He applies his talent as an artist to his practice of dentistry, making him an accomplished, skillful practitioner. Dr. Schmidt is able to not only restore teeth to a functional level, but also make them attractive and natural looking.

I grew up in the small town of Vassar, MI (right by Frankenmuth!) and lived there for 24 yearsbefore moving to Ann Arbor. I've been with Ann Arbor Family Dental since November of 2019 and feel so fortunate to work with such a competent, caring, and friendly team! I graduated from Mott Community College with high honors in 2016 with my Associate in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene and received my licensureshortly after that. I went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene in 2018 and a Master of Science in Dental Hygiene in 2020, both from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. I am a member of the American Dental Hygienists' Association and Michigan Dental Hygienists' Association. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and being active outdoors - hiking, biking, and snowboarding!

Hi, my name is Carrie. I am one of the dental assistants in our office. My primary role is behind the scenes preparing for your visit. I make sure that all of the rooms are set up and completely disinfected for each and every patient.

I am one of the first faces you will see when you walk in to see Dr. Schmidt. I answer the phones, bill the insurance and help schedule patients. I enjoy working here, because of the great patients and the people I work with.

Since being here, I have enjoyed learning about the technology in dentistry, like crowns being made the same day and panoramic x rays.At home, I enjoy watching football and basketball and I especially like to watch my son swim. I also like to travel.

It is my job to assist our patients and to attend to the administrative details in the business dental office. I am responsible for all the administrative details that make a successful practice run smoothly.
