Dr. Alyse Wenger is from Kenosha, Wisconsin. She attended Carthage College in Wisconsin where she received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology and a minor in Spanish. Throughout her time at Carthage she played D3 softball and helped lead her team to two Conference Championships. She remains a huge fan of the game and one day hopes to coach youth softball in her community.
After shadowing her personal dentist, Dr. Wenger decided to pursue a career in dentistry for herself. Some of her favorite aspects of dentistry include getting to know her patients, working with a team and working with her hands. She attended Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, WI where she was trained in all modern dental techniques and procedures. She prides herself on delivering conservative treatment while taking the upmost care for her patients and their needs.
Dr. Wenger and her husband Louis live in Pleasant Hill with their dachshund Charlie. In her spare time she enjoys golfing, family camping trips in their teardrop camper, gardening, triathlons and just about anything else outdoors!
Anna grew up here in Ankeny and moved away for a few years. When she decided to start her family, her and her husband Nathan returned. They have two beautiful daughters Samantha and Allison. Outside of the office when Anna is not chasing her girls around, she enjoys camping and vacationing with her family and friends.
Paula graduated from Des Moines Area Community College in 1991 with an AAA in Dental Hygiene. She has been with Ankeny Dental Arts since 2002. She values the time she has spent getting to know her patients and watching their families grow. Paula is a kind and caring provider who will make sure you are comfortable and your questions are answered.
In her free time she enjoys spending time camping with her family and fur-babies, riding around in the Gator, and cleaning up around the acreage. Not only is she good with a scaler, she is good with a chainsaw. Paula has a love for anything with wheels and you might see her riding around in her convertible or on her motorcycle. She is crafty and has many hobbies that keep her busy. If you need a good cupcake, Paula is the one to call!
Anna G. graduated from DMACC with her Associates degree in Dental Hygiene in May 2018 and has been with Ankeny Dental Arts ever since. Anna enjoys interacting with patients of all ages. Her goal is to help patents be more comfortable in the dental chair and understand the importance of oral health.
Away from work Anna enjoys finding the best hiking spots in Iowa with her husband and 2 dogs. She spends most of her time with friends and family and loves to workout, whether its in the gym or playing volleyball. She enjoys being outside where you will usually find her tending to her vegetable garden preparing to can salsa and other goodies. GO HAWKS!
Sarah attended Marshalltown Community College where she received her dental assisting training. She is an expanded function assistant and has been with Ankeny Dental Arts since 2016. Outside of the office, Sarah enjoys running, working out, doing anything outdoors, watching the Cubs, and spending time with family and grandkids!

Ever since I moved to Des Moines I've been searching for a good dentist. I have pretty bad dental anxiety and always get so nervous! I could not be happier with my experience at Ankeny Dental Arts. It's truly the best team and the best care. Every 6 months they are so kind, do a wonderful job, and are patient with my anxiety and sensitivity. Won't ever go anywhere else!

Highly reccomend this dentist. I was referred here by a specialist to get an exam done, and frankly it's been great ever since. They have become my regular dentist! Anna - the receptionist is SUPER nice, and totally awesome when I've been in there, very kind and polite! Not like any dental receptionist I've dealt with before. Dr. Wenger - My dentist, and she is the coolest dentist ever. Down to earth, skilled with her tools, and is good conversation! She cares about your smile, genuinely and takes good care with improving it! Take your teeth here, and they'll be taken care of!

I've had so much anxiety about going back to the dentist after many years as I've had poor experiences in the past. The staff was ALL so wonderful and friendly and made me feel at ease. I will never go anywhere else again. (And I'll start going when I'm supposed to again)

They are so super friendly and explain everything that I don't understand, which is helpful. I feel afraid when I go to see the dentist, but since I come here, I don't feel it anymore! Really recommend it here if anyone needs to go to, dentist!

Has never happened before but this time I had to wait 20 minutes for the Dentist to come and spend a total of less then a minute with me. I was about ready to just get up and walk out. That was a bit long to me. I get that it happens. Just thought I would say something

Our family has been going to Ankeny Dental Arts for 20 years. They're thorough and gentle. Our kids and the adults in our family have all positive experiences. And they won't try to sell you procedures you don't need. Highly recommend.

After recently moving back to Ankeny after 14 years, I broke a filling. I was referred to Ankeny Dental Arts by a friend. Everyone from the front Receptionist, to Katie the dental assistant to Dr. Alyssa Wenger were welcoming and friendly. The office is very up-to-date with equipment and furnishings. They even have refreshments in the waiting room. Even being a new patient with filling out paperwork, I was in and out within an hour!
