Dr. Lauren Schau is a general dentist with a passion for treating children. She grew up in Iowa, but has enjoyed the Farmington area since 2017. Dr. Schau attended the University of Iowa College of Dentistry to obtain her doctorate of dental surgery. Afterwards, she pursued a hospital residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minnesota. Dr. Schau was in private practice and in public health dentistry before returning to practice at Animas Pediatric Dental Group. She is proud to be a young professional and aspires to be a good role model for anyone interested in the profession. In addition to practicing at the office, Dr. Schau is involved in the local dental society and also enjoys the outdoors with her husband, Dusty, and two daughters Annabelle and Amelia. Professional interests for Dr. Schau include infant oral healthcare, anxious patients (and parents!) and patients with special healthcare needs. She takes great care to engage each child to help them take pride in themselves, learn good habits to last a lifetime and actually enjoy visiting the dentist!

Hygienist was very welcoming, discussed what would all be happening during appointment. Made my son feel comfortable as he's never had much Dental work done. Dentist was awesome she made sure we were all comfortable and understood what was being done. I am super relieved to have found this dentist office. Thank you for all you do.

This was recommended to me by a family friend and I've been happy with them every since we started my 3 year old, I actually have my one year old already scheduled as well. Im glad that they're patient as my son does get scared and sometimes takes a minute to cooperate but he does eventually. I'll continue to take my children here.

Loved how the nurses and the dentist talked to my kid before and during the procedure. Letting my kid know what going to happen and ensure my kid that it is going to be OK.

My grandson has autism and is a nonverbal, the staff here went out of their way to make accommodations for him and try to help him feel at home and comfortable. Dr Laura and her assistant we're extremely patient and understanding with him, and even though he will require anesthesia to have all his dental work done, they went above and beyond to try to get him comfortable in the office for what I'm trying to care down the road. For somebody that lives in 410 caregiver of a special needs child this means the world to my family, knowing that they are compassionate and understanding with their special needs patients means a lot. The office and medical spaces are always very clean and set up to be super friendly to children. I gave five stars because you cannot give any more than that! If you are looking for a friendly, professional, caring dentist in Farmington area this is definitely where you should go.
