Dr. Andrew T. McCormick is a native Californian originally from Monterey County. He graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara with honors and a degree in Biological Sciences. After college he went on to The University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He was very involved with the Mobile Dental clinic on weekends that served dentistry to underprivileged children. Dr. McCormick graduated from U.S.C. with a strong beginning with that experience and education in dentistry.
Dr. McCormick quickly understood that continuing to learn would be important in his development as a dentist. It turned into a passion for continuing education ensuring that the technological advancements being made in the field of dentistry are available to all his patients.
Learning more about the connection between dentistry, medicine, and medications and environmental toxins is of particular interest to him because he sees the effects of these on his patients. Because of this, Dr. McCormick has sought out non-traditional and progressive educations. Some of these groups have recently been the American Academy of Oral Systemic Health (AAOSH) and the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT).
One of Dr. McCormicks interests is involvement in his adopted and beloved community. He was an early participant in Leadership Santa Rosa and now he sits on the board for PDI, a dental clinic in Windsor for underprivileged children (notice the consistency all these years?) He has also been past President of the Academy of Cosmetic and Adhesive Dentistry.
He has been a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) since 1997. In January 2010, he became an accredited member of AACD, one of 350 dentists worldwide, after extensive work to raise his level of expertise in cosmetic and rehabilitative dentistry. Accredited and Accredited Fellow Members in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry set the standard for excellence in cosmetic dentistry by completing a series of written , clinical and oral examinations.
