I'm Dr. Andrew Franklin, a dentist in the Wedgwood neighborhood of Seattle. However, I wasn't always a dentist. Before I changed careers, I was a high school science teacher for almost 10 years. Yes. Really!I love being a dentist, but I'm thankful for my first career and the communication skills I gained as a teacher. Fortunately, I get to use my communication skills (and the excellent training from the University of Washington Dental School!) as a dentist.I spend time listening to my patients' histories and concerns. If an issue comes up, I will lay out all your treatment options with the information you need to make the best decision for you.
Dental care can be anxiety-producing even under the most ideal circumstances. I want to put you at ease by being a trusted partner in your care, by having a friendly helpful staff, and by creating an office space that is bright and welcoming (we have a cool midcentury vibe and a fireplace).
I was born and raised in the Seattle area. My parents' first house was only a few blocks from our office! I majored in science at Wheaton College. I then moved to Santa Barbara, CA where I earned my Master's degree in education from UC Santa Barbara. After teaching for a decade, I changed careers and went to the University of Washington dental school. I'm thankful for my awesome wife who kept our family joyful, even while I studied for years. We've been married for over 19 years and have four great kids. When I'm not at the office, I love to hang out with my family. We go to a lot of LVR soccer games and NESLL baseball games. I coach a 6th grade girls' basketball team. And we try to get out and hike or explore our cool city when we can. Thanks for reading.
