I chose to be a dentist because it is a mixture of many things I enjoy in life. Personal interactions and developing relationships are imperative. I like personal interactions with people, I like to work with my hands, and I like sense of accomplishment when a patient is comfortable and happy with the results of their dental treatment.
Patients should be treated like family. By being honest and caring during treatment, I develop a relationship of trust and respect with each patient, then everything else falls into place. Besides being happy with their dental work, I hope that patients leave my office happy and feeling like they were treated well. I want the experience to feel like they were part of something thats not just another dental/medical office.
Dr. Sheng grew up in Palos Verdes and attended local schools. He completed undergraduate studies at the University of California-Berkeley then earned his DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. He then went on to Loma Linda University where he earned a masters degree in public health (MPH).
Among his professional affiliations are memberships in the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Assocation, California Dental Association, Harbor Dental Society and Spear Institute for Advanced Dentistry. To bring his patients the latest dental technology, Dr. Sheng is an active participant in continuing education to become a premier dentist in San Pedro.
Dr. Wakis undergraduate years were spent at the University of California-Los Angeles, where he earned his bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering. For graduate studies, he earned a DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree at the UCLA School of Dentistry. Dr. Waki is devoted to specialized dental training. From Palo Altos Veterans Administration Medical Center, he received hospital dentistry training. And from West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Medical Center, he received a specialty certificate in periodontics.
One of Dr. Wakis concentrations is the care and treatment of people with periodontal problems using complete periodontal therapy, including surgical and nonsurgical treatments, and the latest therapeutic methods, including bone regeneration surgery, antimicrobial therapy and periodontal plastic surgery. Additionally, he offers people an alternative to dentures as a replacement for missing teeth the surgical placement of dental implants and advanced bone augmentation procedures.
Dr. Sullivan was born in Nancy, France. He grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended the University of Oklahoma, where he earned his B.S. in Biochemistry and graduated summa cum laude. He then attended the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry where he graduated with honors. Dr. Sullivan continued to expand his clinical skills by completing a one-year general practice residency through Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. He then worked in a family practice in Tacoma, WA prior to relocating to Southern California.

I've had a preliminary appointment, a filling and now six months later a second cleaning. The office staff is well-organized, friendly and accommodating. Dr. Sullivan provided excellent and painless dental care. Natalie was both thorough and efficient cleaning my teeth. Everyone was wonderful. I would greatly recommend their services. My mother, now in her 90s, has been a patient of Dr. Sheng's since he first started his practice in South Shores. Last year, she needed a front tooth root canal. An appointment was immediately scheduled, and the treatment was promptly and wonderfully managed through the entire process. A cosmetically unnoticeable crown was provided.

I went there ti get my teeth clean. The hygienist was horrible.she had no idea what she was doing, also the front office will old me they take my insurance and when we were done she slap me with a big bill as a deductible. I had never paid anywhere else!!! I will never go there again a big waste of time and money!!!!!!

The entire staff is so friendly. They make me feel comfortable and safe. They are thorough with checkups and teeth cleaning as well. Definitely recommend!

Do not give this Andrew C Sheng a dollar until you get a second opinion he is charging you thousands for nothing!!!!! He is price gouging you and your insurance forget this guy he is trouble!!! And the whole San pedro location is no good!!!!! Go somewhere else...

Dr. Sheng has an extremely delicate touch that eases my fear of dental work. He takes the time to patiently answer all my questions. He is good at what he does and he does it with confidence and passion. The people of his office are friendly and professional. They take great preventative care in terms of COVID during this period of time. I highly recommend Dr. Sheng and his office!

Dr Sullivan was extremely thorough and had gentle hands. Nicole was THE best- gentle, thorough and made me feel comfortable the entire time. We actually laughed the entire time! She's a keeper! Give that hygienist a raise already!

My front tooth crown came off while i was enjoying a caramel candy.I was lucky that the crown was still in my mouth. I called the dentist right away and cemented the crown back.(Without the crown i looked like a weird monster.) Super kind ,professional service.

Hygienists were wonderful with my kids but front desk isn't friendly or accomodating, but apathetic and too busy to make you feel a priority. We were new patients and excited to try this office out. Due to miscommunication, we showed up late. They said they didn't have my number and never got a reply to my email. I apologized, and then showed them my email to them that had my number, but they wouldn't even say sorry or try to accommodate me. Had to reschedule my appointment and couldn't be seen until a month later for ONE cleaning. I heard good things about the dentists but I won't be coming back to meet them. The receptionists aren't worth it.

The Best dental office ever! I've been a patient in this office since 1980! The front office staff are very friendly & so sweet! The hygienist are all top notch as well. They do such great work and you teeth feel so smooth and clean after your visit! The dentist are the Best!!! They are very caring and they don't try to up-sale you on treatments either. They are very fair & honest. They all have a very gentle approach as well. They are friendly and fun, professional all the while! The office is really clean always has a fresh scent as well! The very best! 10 Stars!!

I had just had a bad experience with another local dental office and was looking for office. Tried Dr. Sheng's office for the first time and was well pleased. I will continue to go there even though I have to pay out of pocket as my Delta Dental coverage is not accepted there. Eva, the hygenist and Dr. Sullivan were very warm, knowledgeable and sincerely interested in me.

I just started going to Dr. Sheng's dental practice and so far love it. The staff is friendly, Nicole the hygienist is gentle and Dr. Sheng and will greet you even when the appointment is not with him (regular cleanings). I highly recommend them.
