I absolutely love what I do! Dentistry is the perfect combination of all of my interests: art, technology, and healthcare. I enjoy being in a profession that is helping people become healthier and keep their teeth longer, with less pain than ever before!

My favorite part of working with patients is that we often get to build a life-long friendship. Our office works hard to create a warm and inviting atmosphere where we get to know patients and their families for many years to come.

Dentistry is always changing and evolving in what we can offer our patients. As each year goes by, we are seeing new ways to keep patients teeth and gums healthy, which we integrate into the practice.

Each month I take continuing education courses to keep up with the constantly improving technology and techniques in dentistry. Continuing education enables me and my practice to be on the cutting edge of the latest trends to bring to my patients. Courses on Invisalign, veneers, and cosmetic treatments give up-to-date knowledge of technique-sensitive procedures to give patients the best outcomes.

I grew up in Seattle, WA, but besides that, my family is from the Bay Area. I am the fourth generation of my family to live in the Bay Area! I now live in Menlo Park, right down the street from the office.

When Im not working, I enjoy playing piano, reading, and painting. Before Covid, I would spend quality time at the beach or up in the city with friends and family on the weekends. Now I just stay at home in my backyard.

I also believe that volunteering is one of the most rewarding things I can do. It allows me to make a real difference in the community where they would otherwise have little or no access to dental care. I often volunteer within the dental field. It can range betweengoing into local elementary schools and teaching the children about oral hygiene and dentistry to seeing patients who have never met a dentist in Costa Rica and Panama. I am also very active in the local Junior League, where we volunteer in the community in many other ways.

We recognize that all of our patients are unique and deserve to receive dental care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced and talented dental team is committed to working with you and your family to create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding dental experience every time you visit our practice.

One of the reasons Dr. Yaley became a dentist was to learn skills that would give her the opportunity to help people and make communities healthier. We hope that by sharing our offices contributions to our community, we can inspire others to give what they can, no matter how big or small. Wed love you to join us in spreading smiles to our community!

A really great turn out for the Mountain View Health Fair organized by our Mid-Peninsula Assembly member Marc Berman! When asked what inspired him to put together the health fair, he said he wanted to show that local government cares about our health. Its great to hear that he plans to make this an annual event!

More than 20 organizations handed out health information, and some took blood pressure readings, gave flu shots, and provided health care referrals. We joined three other dentists from the Mid-Peninsula Dental Society to perform free dental screenings and distribute dental hygiene kits donated by the California Dental Association. More pictures to follow!

Ravenswood Clinic, a non-profit community healthcare center located in East Palo Alto, has two beautiful state-of-the-art dental clinics that offer affordable dental services to those in our underserved community. For people who simply cannot pay, Give a Smile Day is one way for them to receive free dental care. It was a very rewarding experience to join the amazing dedicated Ravenswood Clinic staff to provide much-needed dental treatment to patients on Give a Smile Day!

This month our office donated dental hygiene kits, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss to Haven House in Menlo Park. Haven House helps break the cycle of homelessness by giving families temporary housing and support while they help them get back on their feet. The staff at Haven House were really excited to receive the dental kits, as they dont often receive this type of donation.

Junior League Flash Dash is their big fundraising event of the year. It is where local businesses sponsor clues around Menlo Park, and participants try to find as many clues as possible in two hours. Our office sponsored a clue for this years event. Junior League is a great volunteer organization here in Menlo Park that I have been involved with for the past 3 years. The current focus is on helping young girls become more interested in math, science, and technology, but The League also has many other continuing non-profit organizations that they support.

Ravenswood Dental Clinic in East Palo Alto is one of my favorite places to volunteer. We had another great Give a Smile Day with the wonderful staff and patients at the clinic! Ravenswood is one of the only low income dental clinics in Silicon Valley and meets a real need for people in need in this area.

February is Give Kids A Smile month! Hands down this was my favorite volunteer opportunity! I had the pleasure to go to Castro Elementary School in Mountain View, in partnership with the Mid-Peninsula Dental Society, and speak to 1st graders about oral health and hygiene. The kids were very enthusiastic about dentistry, teeth, flossing, and a healthy diet. At the end, the kids got goodie bags with toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, and a coloring bookand they were as excited as if they were getting a car from Oprah. I loved their passion for their teeth and I cant wait to do it again next year.

This month, we are excited to tell you about the local non-profit, Project WeHOPE, that provides a wide variety of services to those in our Menlo Park and Palo Alto community who need a little extra help. The center is in East Palo Alto and has been providing services to the homeless and families in need since 2009. When our staff heard about the organization, we immediately went to work putting together dental hygiene kits for the organization, which included a tooth brush, dental floss and toothpaste. The project WeHOPE staff were very grateful for the donation because dental supplies are necessities that are rarely donated. WeHOPEs flagship program is an emergency homeless shelter that can provide up to 55 adult men and women a place to sleep, get two hot meals, take a shower and wash their clothes. But thats not all.

They also run a unique and much needed program called Dignity on Wheels. These mobile units drive around Menlo Park, Palo Alto and the surrounding community, stopping at various locations to provide showers and laundry service. Each unit can provide up to 30 showers, and up to 14 single loads of laundry over a 4-hour period! In addition to these, they have many other great outreach programs. Look at their site to see how you can get involved!

A dental implant is an artificial tooth that acts like a natural one. Its a long-term solution to replace one or more missing teeth. A dental implant replaces the entire tooth, from root to crown, and offers important benefits, like increased stability, durability, and aesthetics.

The root of a dental implant is a small, post-like device made from titanium or titanium zirconium. It is inserted into the jaw bone in place of a missing tooth root, and acts as a support for an artificial tooth crown.

The healing phase lasts between three and 12 weeks, depending on the individual medical situation. During this period, the implant becomes securely attached as the jaw bone grows and bonds with ita process called osseointegration. Once healed, the artificial root acts as a base for an individual crown, multi-tooth bridge, or an entire dental prosthesis.

With conventional crown and bridge treatment, healthy neighboring teeth must be ground down in order to support a bridge. This results in the loss of natural tooth surface. Furthermore, the bridge does not transmit chewing forces to the jaw bone, so bone deterioration may also occur.

Even the best prosthesis will always be a separate part that requires extensive care. By contrast, a dental implant acts as a natural root that merges and integrates with the body to act like a natural tooth.

Implants transmit chewing forces to the jaw bone, helping to maintain your bone and facial structure. This is not the case if teeth are missing, or when a conventional bridge or dentures has been placed. If these forces cease, the bone may slowly recede and the shape of the face may change over time. Dental implants can help prevent this gradual bone deterioration, as they mimic the action of the original root.

Laughing, kissing, singing, and eating like beforeimplants can improve your quality of life. Missing teeth can cause self-consciousness and insecurity, and ill-fitting dentures can cause permanent discomfort. These inconveniences come to a welcome halt with dental implants.

Dental implant therapy is a well-proven, state-of-the-art medical dental technique. For decades, dental implants have been tested and used worldwide by qualified dentists and surgeons. Today, implants offer the possibility to treat almost every indication for missing teeth. According to results of a survey carried out in Germany, 98% of patients indicated their satisfaction level with their dental implants was good or very good.1

Dr. Yaley, her hygienist Sarah, and her office team offer a very pleasant and professional experience. Everything feels very easy-going and not stressful. They very carefully describe the health of my teeth, how I can treat it better, and are very encouraging. They are also very pleasant people that makes the whole visit enjoyable.

My teenager had a tooth that suddenly started hurting one day at school. Even though Dr. Yaley was extremely busy, she worked my daughter into her schedule. Dr. Yaley took pictures and explained exactly what was causing the pain (a wisdom tooth issue). Later I learned Dr. Yaley worked through her lunch to see my daughter. It meant a lot to us.

I was a new client to Dr. Yaley's office and I was very impressed with the warm welcome I received at the reception desk. When I got my X-rays the technician made sure my neck was also protected and was very gentle putting the film in my mouth. The Dr. Yaley spent quality time with me reviewing my x-rays and the plan for my teeth. The dental hygienist was very detail oriented she didn't rush at all. Overall the experience was so positive I can't wait to go back!
