Since graduating from the Medical College of Virginia in 1992, Dr. Robinson has been transforming clients smiles as a dentist in private practice. She completed two years of general practice residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center with a focus on hospital dentistry. She completed a year of research in Tennessee studying TMJ and oral surgery and has trained at the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education.

Dr. Robinson continues to train at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry (LVI). LVI is the premier training center for cosmetic dentistry in the country and is the leader in innovative, high-tech cosmetic and restorative dentistry. On average, only about 2 % of dentists in the United States attend this elite program. LVI training is just one of the ways Dr. Robinson demonstrates her commitment to continuing education.

Dr. Robinson is an active member of Hope Community Church in Winston Salem and has participated in a number of mission trips, including visits to Jamaica, El Salvador, and Peru, and continues to support efforts locally and abroad to improve peoples lives.

Technically, there is no such thing as a cosmetic dentist, not legally, anyway. A cosmetic dentist is not a recognized specialist by any board of dentistry. A cosmetic dentist doesnt have a certificate the way a pediatric dentist or a periodontist does. Instead, the differentiation of a cosmetic dentist is less formal, and can change from person to person.

So what do we mean when we say cosmetic dentist? A cosmetic dentist has a philosophical distinction. A cosmetic dentist begins with the belief that looking good is an essential function of your smile. This means that no dental procedure is really done properly unless it takes into account not just the health and functionality of results, but also the appearance.

A cosmetic dentist might also offer procedures specifically designed to improve the appearance of the smile, but its the attitude toward even the most common general dentistry procedures that really distinguishes a cosmetic dentist. For a cosmetic dentist, none of these procedures are routine: they all have to stand up to the same scrutiny and standards that might be directed at a smile makeover.

We use the latest advances in laser therapy to help reshape your gums and improve the appearance of your smile. This technique is also used to for periodontal therapy, ulcer removal, gingival trimming, crown lengthening, frenectomy procedures and more. Its simple and quick and no stitches involved.

Laser therapy offers these benefits because its less traumatic on your tissue than blades. Its precision allows us to focus exactly on the treated area which less risk of damaging surrounding tissue. And it doesnt leave an open wound, but generally seals the cuts it makes, which is what reduces bleeding and eliminates the need for stitches. It also reduces the recovery period and makes your tissues more stable right away, so you dont have to treat them as delicately, though you still have to follow a few restrictions after your laser therapy.

In gum recontouring, we use a laser to reshape your gum line so it presents an even and level scalloped line. Uneven gums can make your smile look crooked, even if your teeth are straight. It can also make your smile look unhealthy.

This is a special type of gum recontouring thats done when your gums are covering some of your tooth crowns to make your teeth look short. By removing excess gum tissue, we can show off your beautiful teeth.

In the past, diseased gum tissue was often cut or scraped away manually. Laser gum therapy can be used instead to clean out infected pockets of the gums, sterilizing them at the same time as removing diseased tissue.

A frenum or frenulum is a thin membrane of tissue. In your mouth, a frenum that connects your lips to your gums or your tongue to the floor of your mouth can interfere with your ability so smile, talk, or perform other normal functions with your mouth. A laser can be used to detach the frenum so that your mouth moves more easily.

Dr. Robinson and her employees helped me in a crisis when no one else would. I had a bad (and very weird) fall on a Thursday night that resulted in 1 broken and 2 cracked teeth ( all in front, of course). This happened when I was visiting W-S and I had to be back at work the following Mon. At 7:30 Fri morning, I frantically started calling dentists. I literally contacted over 20 dentist offices and Dr. Robinson was the ONLY one who offered to work me in that Fri. I wasn't expecting the office to be nice or her to be particularly competent, but I was desperate. Boy, was I wrong! From my initial interaction with her receptionist through the time spent with Dr. Robinson and her assistant, I was amazed at how kind, thorough, informative, and competent everyone was. The dentist spent almost an hour an a half with me examining the damage to my mouth, explaining what she saw, bonding my broken tooth (in such a way that you can barely tell it was broken), telling me what to expect re: future healing, and helping me look into cosmetic dentists where I live with whom I could follow up. It may sound bizarre, but through the whole experience I felt loved. I was upset and hurting from the fall, so I really needed this TLC. This woman and her staff are both highly competent and very good people. I paid out of pocket for the services, which cost less than I expected given all the time she spent with me last-minute. The office filed with my insurance and I was received partial reimbursement about 2 weeks later. If I lived in W-S I would be going to Dr. Robinson for all of my dental needs. This was probably the most positive experience with any medical professional I have ever had. Dr. Robinson also took the time to call me 2 weeks later just to check in and see how I was doing. The level of care and personalized service she provided was phenomenal.

She is nice doctor, but I am unsatisfied as they didn't inform me properly about procedure. Besides, they send me different bill after asking twice what would be final cost.
