Dr. Ralph H.B. 'Chip' Anderson, better known to his patients as Dr. Chip, followed in his father 's footsteps, pursuing a career in orthodontics. He has been practicing for 23 years and started working with his father in 1997. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Hampton University and enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he became a Captain. While stationed in Ft. Ord, California, he decided to enroll at the Medical College of Virginia to become a dentist and continue the family practice. Dr. Chip earned his dental degree from MCV at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry and then completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Like his father, he also accomplished a 'first. ' Dr. Chip was the first African-American to finish the orthodontic residency program at the University of Louisville. Dr. Chip is well respected in the orthodontic community as he is board certified and aInvisalign 2017 Premier Provider!
Dr. Ralph L. Anderson has been setting the highest standards in dental and orthodontic excellence in the Richmond, Virginia area for the past 42 years. He earned his undergraduate degree from Virginia State University and then entered the military. He became a 2nd Lieutenant in the 101st Airborne Division before transferring to the medical service corps. In 1966, he applied for and received a release from the military and enrolled in the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry. Dr. Anderson obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from there in 1970. After graduating, he completed a U.S. Army Dental Internship at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. In 1975, Dr. Anderson graduated from the orthodontic program at MCV and went on to complete his orthodontic residency at MCV. He was the first African-American to complete MCV's orthodontic residency program.
He started Anderson Orthodontics in 1978 and retired from active treatment in 2012. While Dr. Anderson no longer sees patients actively, he continues to teach orthodontic residents at VCU School of Dentistry. He also consults our doctors when needed.
Dr. Amer Allaymouni is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a distinction that approximately only 30% of American orthodontists achieve. To attain this distinction, orthodontists must pass a series of difficult, thorough written and clinical examinations. The entire certification process can take several years.
After graduation from dental school in 2005, Dr. Allaymouni completed his specialty training program at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He graduated with a Certificate of proficiency and a Master Degree in orthodontics. Shortly afterwards, he was selected to be a clinical instructor in the University at Buffalo, where he supervised the postdoctoral students in the orthodontic clinic.
Dr. Allaymouni has presented and lectured at various dental meetings, including the American association of orthodontics annual conference. He published several research papers in different topics in the field of orthodontics and Dentofacial orthopedics. His research has focused on jaw growth modification and functional treatment in children with severe orthodontic problems.

Our staff consists of team members with specialized training and multiple certifications, and our staff members ' average term of service in our office is over 17 years! We strive to stay abreast of the very latest in technology and advancements by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars.

The staff was kind and informative! The office is very clean! The orthodontist explained the entire procedure to me and my daughter! They made her very comfortable getting her braces! She felt no pain and I was happy! Her braces look great! They also accept Medicaid! Highly recommend!!

My daughter is a former patient of Dr. Chip. While at his Monument Avenue office today, I have to say kudos to him and his staff for the extra measures they're providing to keep the office staff and patients safe. This is by far the cleanest medical facility that I've been to since the pandemic. Furthermore, all the staff had on masks, face shields, and PPE garments over their clothes. The staff are friendly and smiled. I'd recommend Dr. Chip for his has patience with the children and get to know them which is great. This is not to say that he doesn't get to know his adult patients because he does. If you, your children, or someone you know needs an orthodontist, then don't hesitate to contact Dr. Chip and his staff. There's a 10% military discount.

I usually have Dr. Lee attend me, he's polite and very respectful! Also is the staff!! No kidding, when your there, you instantly feel part of the family. About 5 years, I've been here, and it's always been the same staff! They're funny, kind, and definitely respectful. Keep it up!
