I am a board certified, second-generation pediatric dentist. Working in my fathers pediatric dental office was a priceless opportunity to learn about this profession. Most notable were the mission trips to Haiti where we provided dental care to those in need.

After earning my undergraduate degree at Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!), I joined the US Navy through the Health Professions Scholarship Program. I earned my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. My first assignment was at Camp Lejeune, NC, which included a deployment to Iraq.

I was selected by the Navy for specialty training and graduated from the Pediatric Dentistry residency program at Indiana University School of Dentistry/Riley Hospital for Children. I was a staff pediatric dentist at Walter Reed Bethesda hospital for my last duty assignment. I continue my affiliation with the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, MD as a guest lecturer for continuing education courses throughout the year.

After a few years of associating in private practice in Northern Virginia, I am excited to continue the legacy of providing quality pediatric dental care in Burke, VA. We proudly serve families in Burke, Springfield, Fairfax Station, Lorton and surrounding communities.

Along the journey I met my husband, a Marine Corps helicopter pilot, and created lifelong friendships with fellow colleagues and mentors. We have two young boys who continue to make life interesting and fun. We enjoy all Northern Virginia has to offer you might even find me doing flips at the local gymnastics club or out in the community with our two boys!

What an amazing experience for our 2 year old daughter! Dr. Amy's team made the environment one to remember. Fun and engaging interactions from all the staff members from the assistants to the Doctors. By the end of the appointment she was blowing kisses and saying bye bye to everyone and as soon as we got home she want to keep brushing her teeth. We recommend anyone who is looking for their child's first pediatric dentists this is a great place! We look forward to our next visit.

My 2 year old daughter knocked her tooth out last night. I called this morning & Dr Adair's pediatric office got us in today. Everyone in the office was so friendly and great with my daughter! She had such a great first dental experience and I was amazed how well behaved she was while they took her xrays. I was beyond impressed with the entire staff! Everything was very clean and all the COVID-19 CDC guidelines were followed flawlessly. We can't wait to be back next month for my toddlers first dental cleaning! Thanks!!

I cannot recommend this practice enough!! Today I took my son to his first dentist appointment and after reading various recommendations online, we decided on Dr. Adair. My son is recently 3, and is suddenly very stubborn and resistant to new experiences, so I was fully expecting this first visit to be a nightmare. I was so wrong! The dental hygienist there (Ms. Christy) is the most patient angel unicorn of a woman and had my son hooked from the minute we walked in the door. She spent the first 15 minutes of our appointment showing him around the room and playing with all of the tools, and even took us on a "roller coaster ride" in the chair, complete with air blowing in his hair from the little air tool (see photo). When he was resistant to having his x-rays taken (which he needed due to a recent fall), she remained SO patient with him and came up with all kinds of bargaining chips and new and exciting ways to talk to him about the x-rays until she found an in road (apparently he will do anything for a taste of bubble gum tooth polish). He was still a little scared and kept his eyes closed the whole time, but the fact that he even let her take the xrays despite his fear shows how comfortable he was in her hands. And Dr. Adair was just as kind and patient. She was very present with us from the minute we walked in the door (actually she was the one who brought forms out to our car before our visit), and my son was immediately taken with her. He just opened up wide and let her examine and scrape his teeth and she sang to him the whole time. He was so happy and relaxed, and I trusted her immensely. I just left there with such a full and grateful heart and can't wait to take him back. It was exactly what we needed.

One of the assistant was very rude to my son. They talked with an angry tone, and the place charged double than other places I have went to before.

As a parent, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Adair's practice!! If we didn't live nearby, I would even happily drive a great distance for my kiddos to see Dr. Adair. On our first visit, my younger child felt like a real celebrity. Ms. Christy greeted her by name as soon as we walked through the doors. She was so happy to be recognized (even though Ms. Christy had never met her before!!) She needed a filling, which I dreaded, but it was SO easy. Dr. Adair took breaks any time my kiddo needed them, without feeling inconvenienced or rushed. My kid felt zero pain, which was amazing. They even let me sit right beside her and hold her hand, which was a relief for both of us. My older child has doctor's office anxiety (like many do), but after her cleaning + exam she is actually EXCITED to go for a filling next month!! Yes...she is excited to get a filling! That's how comfortable Dr. Adair and her staff made her feel. Initially, she was so afraid to get X-rays (she has panicked at every other dentist's office during routine cleanings/exams, so I saw this coming.) The staff was SO patient with her, and she not only got through the appointment, but after we got in the car she told me how happy she was to be there. This is a dream come true for a mom with a kiddo with anxiety! Dr. Adair was definitely made for Pediatric Dentistry. If I could leave 50 stars I would!!

I highly recommend Dr. Adair's office! I recently took my daughter there for her first visit ever to a dentist and she left saying that she wanted to go back! Our dental assistant Kristy was so energetic, kind, and patient with my nervous 4 year-old. The way both and Dr. Adair interacted with my child I could tell that my girl was in the hands of very experienced professionals who love what they do.

We have loved this place from the moment we stepped foot inside the door! Everyone in the office, especially Miss Christy and Dr Adair, is so helpful with making the kids feel comfortable and calm while doing a very thorough dental exam. My son who is 4 needed to have a cracked tooth pulled and 2 cavities done at the same time. Dr Adair made him feel at ease and she was super quick and efficient the entire time he was receiving the laughing gas, we were in and out in less than an hour and he experienced little to no pain during his recovery time. She is very thorough in making sure the kids, and parents, are comfortable. We are so very grateful that we have found this office! They are wonderful and you can tell they really love their job!

Dr. Adair is unique, my grandson is 30 months old and is been seen by Dr Adair since he turned six months. I accompanied my son taking my grandson to see Her for his 2 1/2 years visit and I was impressed with her kindness, patience and overall manner she used to examine and care for my grandchild's teeth. After raising two kids, I can see the difference on Dr. Adair's expertises and approach to examining a child. I would highly recommend Dr. Adair to any parent with young children in the Northern Virginia region.

Dr. Adair and staff were wonderful! I took my daughter for her cleaning and sealants and yes during this pandemic it can be scary but I was so impressed as how safely and carefully things were handled. First I received an email days prior to the appointment with very specific details on how things would run, followed by a phone call to pre-screen my child and answer any of my questions. Upon arrival we parked, waited for staff to wave us in and I could physically see the safety precautions they were taking before we even walked to the door, gloves, mask, sanitizer and all. I was even allowed to stay with her! Our temps were checked and staff led us back once finished with the screening. The appointment preceded as normal, even staff making sure my daughter was comfortable throughout the appointment. No splatters or spray from the tools or cleaning and the environment was kept clean and safe. I cannot highly praise them enough for all the procedures they have put in place to ensure not just their safety but my daughters health and safety as well. During this "new normal" they absolutely know what they are doing and take care while doing so!

Great experience here. She and her assistants are so patient with very young children, Dr. Adair takes the time to get to know you, and they squeezed us in after an injury. Highly recommend!

Really great experience! It was our 15 month old daughter's first trip to the dentist and the staff was amazing. They introduced all the tools to our daughter and her new buddy Winnie the Pooh before using them. Highly recommend this office!
