As a lifelong Grand Forks resident, I consider it a privilege to care for the dental health of people in our community. For me,dentistry is more than just teeth, it is about caring forothers! Through advanced, gentle dentistry, Im able to change a persons life and the happiness they experience.

As a young child, I chose a career in dentistry as a result of two strong role models: with encouragement and mentoring from my general dentist and orthodontist, I knew dentistry was right for me. Both of these men were kind and caring leaders of our community, each with a soft heart and gentle touch. They truly helped people lead fuller, happier lives and I can think of nothing more rewarding than following in their footsteps.

Ive lived in Grand Forks for my entire life, except for the four years spent at dental school in Milwaukee, WI. Kim, my wife, is an integral part of the dental team. Weve been married more than 39 years and have two sons and two daughters-in-law. One son lives here in Grand Forks and the other is in Nashville, TN.

Kim and I love to travel and explore new areas as well as visit friends and family. When home, we love to walk and bike and I enjoy time in the yard, grooming the grass and trimming the trees. In 2021, we were blessed with two grandchildren and love to play with them!

The motto at Marquette is Be the Difference; to me, this means caring for people the way I would want to be treated. That is how I approach each patient I see, always thinking about what is right for that person and how to give them what they need.

The motto also inspires me to pursue continuing education. In addition to completing numerous post-graduate courses throughout the year, Im an active member of the Two-Bit Study Club and the Red River Valley Study Club. These studies keep me current on new concepts, ideas, and products, and allow me to incorporate the best into the practice.

I grew up in Grand Forks and returned after completing dental school. This community has made me the person I am, has been good to me throughout my life, and now Im able, through my profession, to give back to my neighbors.

It is an honor to work in this practice, with an incredible team that truly cares about our patients as people. Our team members are emotionally present at each visit and are willing and eager to help each person who comes through our door. We focus on staying positive and hope to be a bright spot in our patients days, regardless of what brings them to the office.

When not caring for patients, I treasure time with my wife Karlie and my family. I do some home brewing as a fun hobby, and like attending University of North Dakota sporting events, as well as traveling to Milwaukee, where I lived during dental school. Karlie and I welcomed our first child in 2021, and life is awesome!

My Doctorate of Dental Surgery was awarded by Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, WI. Marquette is one of the top-ranked dental schools in the country, with a rigorous curriculum that constantly challenged me and provided an exceptional foundational understanding of the field.

However, dentistry like all areas of healthcare is constantly changing. I stay up-to-date on the latest technology and techniques, as well as research, through continuing education courses and participation in the Red River Valley Study Club.

My greatest passion has always been to help others and through the years, I have noticed that every person has different needs at different stages of our lives. My goal has always been to bring a smile to peoples days. I have been part of Dr. Amundsons team since 1988 and graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1986 with a degree in business.

Our dental health is the gateway to a healthy mind and body. The team at Amundson Dental Associates is incredible and we share the goal of assisting our patients to become healthier and have a happier, more enjoyable life! We are dedicated to treating smiles and developing meaningful, lifelong relationships with those in our care.

Outside of the practice, I enjoy baking, traveling, and getting together with friends. My husband Dr. Roger Amundson and I have been married for 39years, have worked together for 34years, and have two married sons. In 2021, I was blessed with two beautiful grandchildren!

I look forward to my one-on-one time with each patient and learning more about them as individuals. I started working in the dental field in 2011, joined Amundson Dental Associates in 2013, and have an Associates degree in Dental Hygiene from Minnesota State Community and Technical College Moorhead. This is an amazing dental practice, with everyone working together and supporting one another so we can provide the best care for our patients.

I offer a range of care, tailored to each patients individual oral health needs. While working with my patient, I teach them about the connection between dental and overall health and encourage them to develop better homecare. Its a great feeling to help my patients take control of their oral health and achieve a beautiful smile!

My family and I live in the same small town I grew up in and my husband and I keep busy with our fourchildrens many activities. We enjoy going to the movie theater and relaxing at home with our threecats and onedogs.

I enjoy working as a team to connect with patients, creating a positive experience, and making lifetime connections with those in our care. My dental field experience started in 2010 and I found my professional home here in 2013. I graduated from Lake Superior College in Duluth. I visited with the program director prior to starting the dental hygiene program, and she created a passion in me to connect with patients beyond their smiles. She taught me to care for someone as a whole person, listening to them, learning about their stories, and respecting who they are.

I strive to connect with each patient, learning their individual needs, and always being patient and kind. I offer a gentle touch, contribute to a positive atmosphere, and guide our patients with education and encouragement.

My husband and I live in the country with our little girl who loves our black and white cat, Eddie, and share a passion for the outdoors. Im an early bird who starts every day with a cup of strong coffee; I also have a love for good campfires and enjoy daily runs and yoga, too.

Every day in our office is rewarding. I enjoy getting to know our patients and seeing them leave with a confident smile. Everyone has a different view about going to a dental office; and I give it my all to make sure everyone is as comfortable as possible.

I have been with Amundson Dental Associates since 2019 where I work aside Dr Scott Amundson, to ensure he has everything he needs for each patient. I also sterilize equipment and the treatment rooms before and after every office visit. I take pride knowing that I am part of a compassionate team that makes a difference in the overall health of our patients.

When I am not spending my time with all of our wonderful patients, I spend majority of my time with my best friend, who is also my husband, and our beautiful baby boy. As a family we like taking our family dog Kya on walks, going to Grandmas farm, and watching our nieces and nephews perform in different activities. A hobby of mine that I have always enjoyed is playing cards; whisk or hand-and-foot are probably my favorites.
