Ampla Health is a 501 (c)3 non-profit network of community-based Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) offering comprehensive medical, dental, behavioral health, pediatrics, chiropractic and specialty healthcare services in Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Sutter, Tehama and Yuba counties.

Ampla Health inspires patients to take an active role in their healthcare needs by participating in prevention, wellness, and chronic care programs that can assist with healthier lifestyles. We also encourage patients to select a primary care provider of choice to help them access the best care available. We are passionate about helping people live healthier lives and believe each patient benefits by receiving high-quality medical, dental, social, and educational health services.

Ampla Health originated in 1964 in the form of a medical care project for migrant farm workers under the State Farm Workers Health Service and Migrant Health Act Fund. Known as the Sutter-Yuba Farm Workers Health Project, with the County of Sutter serving as grantee for the funds, it operated as a night clinic in the Sutter County General Hospital.

In spring 1973, the Consumer Advisory Board incorporated as a non-profit organization, at the suggestion of the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, to become Northern Sacramento Valley Rural Health Project, Inc. This corporation became the grantee for the 1973-74 Migrant Health Act Funds and continued to provide the same basic health care services. With more funding and a full-time Executive Director, the service expanded from Sutter and Yuba Counties to Butte, Colusa, and Glenn Counties.

Ampla Health was once a network of Migrant and Community Health Centers serving farm-workers and other low-income populations, but now serves all people regardless of their ability to pay. Serving six counties; Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Sutter, Tehama and Yuba. Providing comprehensive primary medical, dental, behavioral health, pediatric, chiropractic and specialty care to an ethnically diverse population, including migrant and seasonal farm workers with 14 medical and 6 dental centers.

They told me my DentalCal wouldn't cover the cost of a root canal. After bring up that I'd read on there website right before that they did the dentist said good luck and sent me out the door as quickly as possible. I found another place and was able to get my tooth fixed.

Worst possible care, just jabbed the numbing needle in,didn't even let numbing stuff set in and tried to dig my tooth out.

I had to have a molar removed, the dentist began working on it, being extremely rough. So rough that he dislocated my jaw, he didn't stop pulling on my jaw even when I was crying telling him my jaw was popping and I was in pain. After about 45 minutes of excruciating pain he removed the tooth and walked out of the room. No antibiotics, ibuprofen, no after care instructions given. I called two days later asking to be seen again as I was still in horrible pain, this time a different dentist just looked in my mouth and said I can only give you antibiotics because the dentist who pulled it isn't here. I told the front seat and dental assistants I never received after care instructions and they only said, "sorry about that". I will never go back to these people it was the worst experience I have ever had with a dentist.

My experience was not very pleasant...they put me on the sofa and then I had a dentista who didn't say anything and left and then an assistant and then another dentist. And they didn't solve anything for me

Even though I was (and still am) on a walk-in basis (where you cant schedule an appointment due to being a no show previously), after not being able to eat on the left side of my mouth for years, I had an excruciating hole in my molar drilled out and perfectly filled the first day we called in! I was almost 99% sure I either wasn't going to be seen or need a root canal... The staff and dentists were very sweet and chatty! Much appreciation!

Called to see about a cleaning, was told I needed x-rays to establish me as a new patient before a cleaning could be done. Then I was told there was a priority list and that appointments were 10-12 months out. Kind of crazy.

I have a tooth that may need more than a filling. They were making sure not to remove it and let a specialist act now, so they referred me. As far as that, thier hospitality and machinery are all top notch for a government funded place, better than Western Dentistry if you asked me.
