Dr. Amir M. Chalak is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He attended the prestigious UC Berkeley for his undergraduate studies where he majored in Molecular and Cellular Biology and was heavily involved in the Cal Berkeley Pre-Dental Society.
Dr. Chalak then moved to sunny Southern California to attend the highly competitive UCLA School of Dentistry. During his time at UCLA, he developed a strong passion for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and was very involved with the UCLA Oral Surgery Club. While at UCLA, he gained recognition and awards for his research involvements in salivary diagnostics and for his high performance in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He graduated with distinction of magna cum laude from UCLA School of Dentistry and was honored by being inducted into the prestigious National Dental Honor Society of Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Chalak was excited to make his way back to the Bay Area for his Oral and Maxillofacial residency training at UCSF. During his residency program, he attended and graduated from UC Davis School of Medicine. He completed training in general and pediatric anesthesia and General Surgery. Dr. Chalak was chosen to be a leader in the Resident Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons representing all residents at the national level. He completed his training as Chief Resident at the UCSF, San Francisco VA and San Francisco General Trauma Hospitals. He is an active member of many professional organizations such as AAOMS, ADSA, CDA, and ADA. Dr. Amir Chalak is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
In his personal time, Dr. Chalak enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, cheering for Bay Area sports teams, snow sports and spending time with friends and family. An interesting fact about Dr. Chalak is that he was at the dentists office in San Francisco during the 1989 San Francisco Earthquake!

I dread the dentist mostly because I have a needle phobia, especially in the mouth. Whatever Dr. Chalak did, I BARELY felt it. It was a huge relief. His assistant put my favorite singer Frank Sinatra on in the background for me to feel comfortable. The whole experience was THE BEST probably in my whole life. I highly highly highly recommend Dr Chalak and his team.

I had a tooth extracted and an implant inserted today, I was very nervous going in for the procedure but it was not as unpleasant as I thought it would be, they made me feel at ease throughout the process, constantly telling me what was happening. I'm very happy that I chose Dr. Chalak for this procedure!

My 15 year old was seen for the second time by Dr. Chalak. He is pleasant, thoroughly explains procedures, and always ensures quality care. The front office staff is professional and courteous regarding scheduling and appointment reminders. I appreciate your superior care and consideration. Dr. Chalak is one of the exceptional dental surgeon anyone will ever encounter, I can vouch for this. After dealing with pain associated to wisdom teeth in on/off mode for almost 8years, Dr. Chalak's recommendation (as well his reviews here) encouraged me to go for all four wisdom teeth extraction. I don't have any painful memories as surgery was given under deep sedation. And when I woke up, I knew I would never have wisdom teeth related issues again. I am thankful to Dr. Chalak and his entire staff who comforted me during this process. I would highly recommend him.

I needed to have a broken tooth extracted. I thought it would be extensive, long, and painful. With Doctor Chalak, it was none of those. It was done in 15 minutes, then an X-ray and checking. Wow it amazed me. And a vet personable guy. And the staff was just as personable.

Great Great service, the reviews are not lies. My 15yrd son was in and out and healed very well. They answered all my questions through the healing process. So glad to have been referred to Dr.Chalak! My daughter who is 13 is ready to do her procedure lol.

My kid had an accident and had trauma on their mouth, chipped loose teeth, Dr Chalak fit us in the next day, new patient also! The visit was good, x-rays we're taken and we walked out much calmer and feeling better than when we walked in.

There's a reason why this doctor has almost 100% 5 star reviews, because he's an expert at what he does. After delaying my dentist's suggestion for almost a decade to get all my 4 wisdom teeth removed, I finally pulled the trigger at age 27 after starting to suffer pain from one of the wisdom teeth when eating. The actual procedure went like a breeze. Within seconds of IV sedation, I'm asleep then wake up in what feels like mere seconds later finally wisdom-less with no pain whatsoever. Is there anything more to say? Highly professional doctor, assistants, and reception staff.

This was by far the friendliest office experience I have had in quite a while. The staff was experienced, friendly and pleasant to work with. Dr. Amir Chalak put my 15 year old right at ease with his relaxed, friendly and positive manners. He is an expert at what he does and excellent social skills.
