He then earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery, Cum Laude at the University of Texas Dental School in San Antonio, which is the number one ranked dental program in the country. Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Hunt began treating children on the White Mountain and San Carlos Apache Indian Reservations in Arizona in a mobile dental trailer yes, a 26 trailer hooked to the back of his truck was his dental office! This experience solidified Dr. Hunts respect and appreciation of pediatric dentistry. He then returned to San Antonio to complete a residency in Advanced Education General Dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center, followed by an additional two year residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center, also a top ranked program, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Hunt has extensive experience in dental emergencies, sedations, hospital dentistry, and the handling of special needs patients.

After completing his education and residencies in 2006, Dr. Hunt returned to his home town of Del Rio and opened his pediatric dental office, Amigo Childrens Dental. He is truly grateful to be serving the same community that provided the foundation for his own accomplishments. Following his love of pediatric dentistry and serving native populations, Dr. Hunt traveled to remote regions of Alaska every 6 months to provide dental treatment to the Tlingit, Haida and Eskimo children. Dr. Hunt helps direct annual dental mission trips to Del Rio and Eagle Pass, and he is an active member of his community, serving as a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Military Affairs Association and a volunteer with the Del Rio Main Street Program. Dr. Hunt has successfully lobbied the Del Rio City Council regarding the issue of fluoride in the public water system. Dr. Hunt served as President of the Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry from 2016-2017, and he remains an active member for the Academy.

Dr. Hunt married his wife, Loral, in 2005 and is the proud father of 3 children. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends. Some of his hobbies include hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, snowboarding, skateboarding (WEARING FULL PADS), surfing, art, photography, music, traveling, videogames, golf and all water sports. Yes, he is still a kid at heart!

If I could give this place more stars I would, Dr.Hunt and his team, make my kids feel very comfortable. All other dentistry's should follow the way they do things. Its ALL ABOUT the kids.
