I am a native Virginian, and am the oldest of four girls. Growing up, I played the piano and enjoyed team sports like field hockey and lacrosse. When it was time for college, though, I came to New England and never left.
I was fortunate to attend Wellesley College, where I double-majored in Biology and Art History. From there, I graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine with my dental degree. I completed my orthodontic training and received my Masters in Medical Sciences at Harvard Universitys School of Dental Medicine. Over these 11 years of schooling, I was the recipient of numerous distinction and awards, a leader of my class, and graduated with highest honors all along the way.
The best part of being an orthodontist is the transformation: watching kids grow up into young adults, and working with a team to finish complex cases. My most favorite part of orthodontics is having relationships with families that grow over time.
Conservative philosophy. This means that you will only be given treatment recommendations when it is clear that there is real benefit. Your long-term dental health and function dictate my recommendations.
Timing is everything. I am unique among my peers in that I believe in starting full treatment later to keep your treatment times shorter. The benefits to shorter treatment are a more motivated patient, less time making sacrifices in your routines, and healthier mouths.
Dedicated student. My commitment to professional development means that I stay current with the best I can offer you and your family. To this end, I continue to be an avid student attending as many continuing education courses as I can. I also lead and participate in several local and regional study clubs where I learn with your dentists and other specialists, and orthodontists from other areas.

I always feel comfortable and safe. The staff is friendly and everyone inclusing Dr. Diane explain everything clearly so I understand what is being done or what will be done.

Amherst Orthodontics is a step above the rest! Our first appointment was not only educational, but they laid to rest our concerns that effective treatment is unaffordable because of their willingness to help families with all financial backgrounds. We learned so much and can't wait to come back!

The attention to detail and the care you receive at amherst orthodontics is beyond amazing. They take the time to explain everything and answer all your questions. I am never rushed or pressured into anything. I would recommend them to anyone!

First off, Dr. Diane and her team are such fabulous group. They are incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. I work in the dental field so it's always interesting to see what it's like to be the patient. Dr. Diane and her team treated me with the utmost care and respect. Dr. Diane did not assume I knew and understood the information just because I'm in the dental field. She took the time to explain her findings to me and explain my treatment plan with care and patience. She had print outs of all the information she gathered and blew me away with how she delivered her treatment plan in such an easy way to understand. I'll admit, I was little apprehensive about orthodontic work, but Dr. Diane and her team helped me understand the pros and cons of treatment and answered all my questions respectfully. She plans ahead and made me aware of everything to expect in the final outcome so there wouldn't be any surprises. Dr. Diane truly understands and exemplifies comprehensive orthodontic care. I always wished I got braces when I was kid, but I'm honestly really glad I didn't because now I get to work with and be under the care of Dr. Diane. Thank you, Dr. Diane, for your care, patience and knowledge! TL;DR: Dr. Diane and her team are the best!

Dr. Diane and ALL her staff are delightful! I have to admit (please don't tell anyone), I only wanted to get braces for my littlest daughter when she started talking back to me. Her teeth seemed fine and straight, but her attitude had me in a panic. Dr. Diane talked me through it, and it turned out we didn't need to wire the little one's mouth shut. Things are better now. What a relief.

Dr Diane and the entire staff at Amherst Ortho are welcoming, professional and straightforward. Dr Diane explained how much progress my child had made with just behavior cessation, and happily reported my child would NOT need braces. How often does a business NOT try to sell you something?

Our last visit to Amherst Orthodontics was great as always. We had to wait longer than usual (they are typically super fast and on time) but the friendliness and kindness pf the staff and Dr. Diane's amazing knowledge and ability to explain all processes in an easy way to understand, makes up for any wait. We as a family would recommend. 10/10

Always friendly and accommodating, all three of my girls have gotten braces at Amherst Orthodontics, they all have beautiful smiles and healthy teeth and still enjoy visiting for their annual retainer check. Quality care and service! Reccomend to everyone I know who's looking for an orthodontist.

I took my daughter to Amherst Orthodontics for a second opinion on braces. The environment and staff were inviting and friendly. Our consult with Dr. Diane was very impressive and thorough. I was really impressed with the detail she went into on how the process would go, and how she gave us a visual using pictures of my daughters mouth to show us exactly what would be done. I would highly recommend using Amherst Orthodontics.
