Originally from Spencer, Dr. Patten graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly with a bachelor of arts degree in biology. He completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in Iowa City before receiving a commission in the United States Navy Dental Corps. In the Navy, Dr. Patten completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Naval Hospital Great Lakes. He served two years aboard the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt and one year at Naval Dental Center Mid-Atlantic in Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Patten is married to Dr. Corrie Patten, a pediatrician at McFarland Clinic PC in Ames. Together they enjoy spending time with their three children as well as friends and family.
Dr. Donald Good founded the practice in March of 1971 after completing a general dentistry residency at the Veterans Administration in Minneapolis, Minnesota.He began with three dental chairs in the basement of First National Bank in downtown Ames while also practicing in Madrid, Iowa.As his Ames practice grew he sold the Madrid office and added two more chairs to the office in Ames.During this time he not only established himself as a highly esteemed restorative dentist but also enjoyed the respect of his staff and patients.
In 2009, Dr. Brandon Patten joined the team as an associate dentist after serving four years of active duty in the United States Navy. Dr. Pattens desire for an excellent clinical mentor and Dr. Goods desire to pass on clinical pearls and years of wisdom and experience made them a great match.In 2011, Dr. Patten purchased the practice and Dr. Good continues to care for patients as well.
