With over 35 years of combined medical experience, Dr. Kazemi and Dr. Saffari acquired American Family Dentistry in 2001. Their husband and wife partnership continues to serve the local community offering advanced and holistic dentistry for the whole family.
Dr. Kazemi received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Davis and his dental degree (DDS) from the University of California, San Francisco dental school in 1999. After 2 years of clinical & private practice in Sacramento, Dr. Kazemi laid the foundation for a deep and committed community practice with American Family Dentistry in Roseville CA, where he continues to practice for over 12 years. Dr. Kazemi belongs to numerous professional organizations including: ADA, CDA, and SDDC. He has a particular interest and skill in cosmetic dentistry blending aesthetic creativity with modern techniques and vision. He also specializes in implants, crowns and veneers.
Apart from dentistry Hossein embraces the values of wholesome living and exercise. He is a committed yoga practitioner. As a member of UC Davis soccer team from 1992-94, he plays recreational indoor and outdoor club soccer throughout the Sacramento area. He also coaches youth soccer and enjoys the outdoors with his two children.
Dr. Saffari is a highly skilled, gentle and caring dentist committed to providing leading edge integrated dental treatment with personal attention, using quality products and the latest dental techniques. A graduate of UC Berkeley in 1992, she completed her dental training at Northwestern University in 1996 before practicing four years with the US Air Force.
She has special interests and skills in general and childrens dentistry with a holistic approach. She worked for a childrens non-profit organization for a year before establishing American Family dentistry over twelve years ago. She is a member of the Holistic Dental Association and a prospective member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine & Toxicology (IAOMT).Dr. Saffari completed her ozone training in 2013 and in 2015, she became certified as a Naturopathic Physician by the American Naturopathic Medical Certification Board.
Dr. Saffari views the mouth as an integral part of the body, one that plays an important role in your overall health. She believes that visiting the dentist should be a relaxed and peaceful experience and she is dedicated to making this a reality.
She appreciates the art of arranging flowers and has a growing interest in creative whole food cooking leading to improved health and well-being. Her dedicated yoga practice fosters a deep relaxation which she carries into her other duties.

Cost a bit more then I'd like but expensive for a good reason. No cut corners. I visited other places and this is the only one with a Dr. that seems to believes in going the full length to make sure she does all she can for the safest care. Only thing I noticed different worth mentioning is they don't use oxygen in The nose when removing amalgam fillings, But They do provide the dental dam where other dentist don't. So I wish I could get both but She explained why there is no need.

We were looking for a holistic dental experience and we were NOT disappointed. Both dentists were fascinating to listen to and discussed holistic approaches to not only dental care, but the whole mind, body and spirit. And they both did terrific work - from fixing my jagged tooth smile to removing the mercury from my tooth. The hygienist was gentle yet thorough and effective - polished to clean and shiny perfection! The office is clean and the staff friendly. They more than satisfied my expectations and hopes. I HIGHLY recommend them.

This is the only place I fully trust with my children. Dr. Saffari is so gentle and compassionate with the kids. She's just the most amazing dentist I've ever known. She doesn't push any unnecessary expensive cosmetic procedures, which is huge and very rare to come across. The conventional dental industry is so incredibly toxic. I am beyond thankful for this natural, mindful and alternative dentalcare provided by people you can feel safe with and trust wholeheartedly. I have so much anxiety surrounding being seen by a dentist. I just hate having strangers in my mouth BUT, as I just saw Dr. Kazemi, Dr. Saffari's wonderful and kind husband, he put me at ease. I felt safe, trusting and very confident in his ability to help me. I have generally never trusted any dentists. I have always struggled to have faith in their work and knowledge. I always felt like I was just a dollar sign. However, Dr. Kazemi and Dr. Saffari are beyond thoughtful dentists that genuinely care for their patients. I 100% recommend these incredible professionals to anyone and everyone. I will never take my kids anywhere else! The staff is also so warm and welcoming, which makes such a difference

One of the best dentists that I've been to. Dr. Safari is really focused on natural methods that help the body and recommends using herbs or other things of that nature instead of prescribing some sort of medicine. Their office staff are very friendly. American Family Dentistry is also open one Friday every month so that's usually when I schedule my appointment since I have Fridays off. It's not always the same Friday so you need to call in ahead to see which Friday are open.

This was my second visit for several fillings with Dr. Kazemi. Few weeks ago I got one of my wisdom tooth out. I can say that both Dr Kazemi and Dr. Saffari are highly skillful and knowledgeable dentists. They collaborated very well to my advantage. I could get a conventional as well as holistic approach to my dental issues. They employ medical ozone for disinfection as well as herbal preparations. So didn't need antibiotics. Dr. Saffari homeopathically potencized my extracted wisdom extract, which helped me a lot overall in strengthening my immune system. I noticed that both doctors went extra mile to make sure that my issues are addressed. Facility is clean and pleasant. Staff is very nice. This is as pleasant as a dentist visit can get. If you are looking for a New Age, holistic approach along with conventional dental procedures, I highly recommend American Family Dentistry without any doubt

Warning do not go here. Botched a simple cavity which required a root canal from a dentist that knew what they were doing. Absolutely terrible, go anywhere else if you can.
